    Hi Tom,
    Great channel, one of the best out there actually.
    I'm into outdoors sports, mainly Hiking, Biking and Skiing. I recently bought a Mavic to accompany me during my outings and I guess that due to its small size, it was the perfect choice. I will start using active tracking of course so I can include myself in the action but I wonder how to deal with the controller?! If I put it in my backpack, joysticks will be pressed and the drone will go out of control. Can I switch the controller off during the tracking segment?

    Hi tom, love your channel. I'm a teacher and I'm looking for drone luts and in this video you mention them as being on your page but what I've found are more generic and I'm looking for P4P, Inspire X5R and Mavic Luts specifically. If I understand it correctly, I just need to shoot with a specific color profile and then the LUTs take over from there. That said, I've just never really been happy with any of the LUT's that I've found.
    I'm thinking a video from you about LUTs specifically would be great! I really need to understand this better so I can teach it.

    You forgot to add the tip regarding logos in your footage: ie: having one that flickers around and moves also distracts from paying attention to the content of the video and in my personal opinion looks very unprofessional. You already included a Comercial in your video for your site (that you obviously worked very hard on creating) this I don't have a problem with as it is a great site. Otherwise keep up the great work. I really do enjoy your videos. :-)

    I'm just curious, why do you advertise on your own channel? Doesn't that mean you are paying for ads and then getting paid by CZcams for your ad traffic? It seems like you could just input the ad into your video (and hope people don't skip them) and you wouldn't have to give up a cut to CZcams. You could even monetize the video with other people's ads and make some extra profit!

  • @AYPOD
    @AYPOD Před 7 lety +1

    tom , one question , I bought yesterday my first drone a dji phantom 3 advanced. I live in Berlin and today i went to a public park , there were no people on the field where I started the drone but some people who were far away came towards me and insulted me for using a drone and said its forbidden in berlin eventho I wasnt in the nofly-zone. So is it really that problematic in Berlin / Germany to fly drones ? I am even thinking of giving the drone back since I was really depressed and sad about getting so much attention eventho I just wanted to film a bit. I have heard that around Berlin its allowed to fly as high as you want , do you know anything about that ?

    • @Domi1a
      @Domi1a Před 7 lety

      EditorsBay Ich habe eine Seite speziell für Berlin gefunden: www.berlin.de/special/finanzen-und-recht/recht/4379371-2625165-drohnen-und-multicopter-fliegen-regeln-f.html
      Generell ist das Fliegen in Berlin erlaubt, jedoch nur bis max. 30m Höhe, in Brandenburg sind es 100m, in einigen anderen Bundesländern sind teilweise bis zu 300m erlaubt. Leider werden sich diese Auflagen spätestens 2017 jedoch ändern, das Luftfahrtbundesamt plant neue Regulierungen und spricht sogar von einem "Drohnenführerschein" für Privatpersonen. Es gibt einige gute Facebookgruppen für Drohnenbesitzer in denen diese Themen sehr intensiv diskutiert werden.

    • @AYPOD
      @AYPOD Před 7 lety +1

      Dominik Blümel Danke dir für die ganzen Informationen :). Es ist echt schade das sich die ganzen Auflagen und Regeln noch mal ändern. Ich fand schon die 30m Regelung sehr heftig. Klar will man damit den Luftraum vor Kollisionen schützen, aber irgendwie sollte es dennoch ne andere Lösung geben damit man seinem Hobby noch nachgehen kann. :/

      @muellerbild Před 7 lety +1

      Achtung: zum Beispiel während des Besuches von Obama war ganz Berlin für drei Tage für alle Drohnen gesperrt.

      Alex Müller ok werd ich machen :/. Darf man eigentlich in einem öffentlichen Park , wo keine Menschenmengen sind und der außerhalb der Flugverbotszone liegt die Drohne fliegen ? Ich hab das zum Beispiel gestern versucht und da wurde ich halt angemotzt, obwohl ich nur 15m hoch war. Man hat halt wirklich Angst weil jeder der sich irgendwie nicht auskennt direkt denkt man macht dort irgendetwas illegales wie Leute beobachten usw.

    • @muellerbild
      @muellerbild Před 7 lety

      Die Akzeptanz in der Bevölkerung sinkt nach meinem Eindruck immer mehr.
      Als ich vor 4 Jahren mit Koptervideos begann, verursachte ich noch freundliche, interessierte Menschenaufläufe die mich mit Fragen und Aufnahmewünschen ("können Sie bitte unser Haus filmen...") ansprachen. Mittlerweile hat sich leider die Stimmung gedreht. Die Ansprachen sind aggressiver geworden.
      Und das im Sauerland!
      Jetzt versuche ich jeden Kontakt mit (unbekannten) Personen zu vermeiden. Oder ich spreche anwesende Personen an, informiere sie und frage sie um Erlaubnis. Das klappt meistens.
      Ich überlege, eine Aufstiegserlaubnis bei der zuständigen Bezirksregierung in Münster zu beantragen, mit allen Nachteilen (200,- EUR Gebühren für zwei Jahre, Ankündigung jeden Fluges beim Ordnungsamt). Kontakt mit ihr habe ich schon aufgenommen.
      Dann wäre ich wenigstens rechtlich auf der sicheren Seite und könnte immer eine "Genehmigung" vorzeigen.
      Denn das ist die häufigste Frage von Laien: "Haben Sie denn eine Genehmigung?"

      Dude subscribe to CZcams red NO commercials and people who EXPECT value for free have NO value in their opinion. Get a life and a better job and thank you Tom for all your hard work you do and although I’m making this comment a year later, I’m not sure what has or hasn’t changed if anything but by God add MORE ads, you deserve to be paid and paid WELL for your very helpful and professional videos and the people who complain like losers about how you need to do more work for less pay actually are far fewer than the people who understand the value of your work and effort and need to be paid for them and are actually the ones who will either weather the ads or upgrade to Red vs trying to get their food stamp cards increased..... lol I somewhat apologize it just really irritates me when people say such stupid things as this nitwit freeloader.
      Again thank you Tom, us subscribers who actually own professional drones and get paid to use them very much value and appreciate your hard work and efforts and again do carry the opinion I do here albeit I speak out more lol but again freeloaders not only don’t contribute they suck life out of both macro and micro economies while EXPECTING more juice for their suckers hahaha. Keep up the awesome work you’ve helped me and several of my associates make a ton of money we otherwise wouldn’t have had you not or if you didn’t offer us tutorials at the level of professionalism you do. And THAT is what matters most vs freeloaders who do nothing or worse siphon off those of us who make it possible for them to get free food lol

    Great video and ... LMAO at the end I heard that. "Leave your vote on something and help make Tom's Tech Time great again," sounded familiar almost like Donald Trump lol.

    Power lines are the number one enemy when flying low! I don't think they drones can see them and you cannot see them either looking at your screen....

    Thanks for your video, but I find that there are maybe too many ads. I know this is how the bills get paid, but subtle is better with this sometimes.
    I agree about your logo. It's jumping and flashing and distracts from your video.
    I also think that many of your "hints" are more like opinion in regard to YOUR shooting style, but thanks for sharing your style!
    Last - I don't like the colour grade on your main shot - you look a bit green and you seem to be wearing lipstick

    10:20 Why do all my clips look like this when graded? I cant seem to get the natural look. the yellows/reds are way too punchy!

      Tom's Tech Time well actually im not using a drone, im talking about my normal canon 650d. when i use cinestyle (flat close to log) whenever i grade it becomes that yellowy look.

    hey Tom! love your videos and it has taught me a lot. however, those ads are getting annoying. As a subscriber it can get annoying to see it all the time(every 45 seconds). I know you've gotta make money but damnn...

      Travis McCartney You probably own a Phantom series from DJI. They've never really gotten that figured out. They spend more valuable time and resources on live streaming and their crappy in app editor.

    5:04 If you don't know how to create lines in Premier: Maybe you should't fly a drone. Or use premier. Or be allowed to vote. Or be allowed to spread your genes. Because creating lines is the easiest thing you can you do in life.
