    I like your style. One note about the CNOC bags. I use them with my Sawyers. Saw an ad that said they were strong enough to stand on, so I did. 170 lbs of me on a water-filled bag. One foot. Didn’t break. Keep these vids coming. This was an especially good one.

      I saw where you could step on one, but I was afraid to try. CNOC is a quality bag. I could tell just by the amount of pressure I was applying compared to the squeeze bladder that CNOC was going to be much stronger. I'm glad you enjoyed this video. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Since you have the blue sawyer squeeze thread coupling, you have the perfect back flush system. Unscrew the cap from the Smart Water bottle, connect the coupling to the bottle and then connect it to the outflow of the Squeeze. Now back flush clean water in much greater quantity

    Great video. Sawyer squeeze + CNOC bag is the system that I see endorsed most often by backpackers. But, at $55 for the system, I just dropped another $10 and went with the Hiker Pro (commonly found for $65 in 2023). It's bulkier and heavier, but I like the versatility, speed, and the direct connection to Nalgene bottles (not shown here).

      CNOC makes one that fits the Katadyn BeFree filter as shown in this video. You may have to go to their web site to purchase one as I don't see them on Amazon. The CNOC bags in the video will not fit the BeFree filter. So you cannot buy one bag to work with both Sawyer and BeFree. Thanks for watching and posting a question.

    Hye, since you review all the types of water filtered bottle. Can u suggest what can i innovate the water bottle so that it could improve the quality for hikers? Because im a student and we have a innovation project. Really looking forward for ur reply please☺️

    • @JohnMillwoodOutdoors
      @JohnMillwoodOutdoors  Před 2 lety

      I'm not sure what you are asking, but I'll give it a try.
      For day hikers, if they carry a Smartwater bottle, the Sawyer filter has the same threads and will fit the water bottle. So if you run out of water, you can fill the bottle at the nearest water source and attach the filter and drink from the filter. The BeFree is also a great option for day hikers to supplement your water bottle. All these options are lightweight.
      For camping or survival situations, I recommend a stainless steel or titanium container that has a large mouth plus a water filter like the Grayl Geopress or Sawyer. So if your filter gets clogged, you have a backup option by boiling water. You need to have some fire making skills to pull this off.
      If you are wanting to cut down on weight and bulk, the BeFee is good as well as the Smartwater bottle with the Sawyer Mini.
      Keep in mind that the Sawyer filters require you to backflush. You will need that syringe that comes with the filter, or you can use a Smartwater bottle. Remember to always backflush with clean filtered water.
      Also, if you contaminate your water bottle with dirty water, you will have to drink through the filter or boil your water. Boiling water in a stainless/titanium container will also disinfect the container.
      I hope this helped. Thanks for watching and posting a question.

      I'm not sure about a coke bottle, but it will screw onto a smartwater bottle. I believe though all these bottles follow the same standard on top size. Great question. Thank you for posting and watching! I hope this helps.

      @inkfish1380 Před 3 lety +1

      Cheers for the reply.
      My thoughts on this went along the lines of what you said about the pouch being kinda flimsy and fairly easy to burst, you roll over in your tent squash it and you've lost your water collector.
      Plastic coke or soda bottles are usually available as people leave trash everywhere and in an emergency situation you utilize what you can find.
      I also think that plastic coke bottles are cheap to buy, weigh next to nothing and have several uses other than holding liquid.
