    I have been emailing 5.11 pretty much daily to bring back this line because I need the helmet/shove it AND admin gear sets. But I'm only one voice. You have the followers and viewers. Maybe together we can all get them to bring back one of the best bag lines ever made for pro and every day users!

      I got lucky to get the AMP24 for Christmas a few years ago. The admin and shove-it attachment does come handy. I got every gear set attachment available.

    Great review, but maybe show that the hex grid and/or admin pouch can be stored in the main compartment when not used on the outside (the outside is mirrored in the main compartment) so you can use 1 pouch/hex grid on the outside and 1 on the inside.
    I use the Helmet/Shove-it Gear Set on the outside & Admin Gear Set on the inside, I feel this is a great combo (also you can have both the hex grid and place another gear set on top of that, if you really want to)

    Great video as usual. Although it's bigger than your usual preference for EDC/minimal short travel, the AMP 24 (32L) has some features I think you'd like more. It doesn't have the top quick access pocket above the CCW flap, but instead has a small almost-hidden pocket on the bottom of the bag, a small fleece-lined pocket near the top handle for delicate items, & 2 zippered vertical side pockets that can fit at least a thinner 24-oz water bottle. These vertical pockets are matched in the main compartment by some open soft sleeves for water bottles or other items (I often put my laptop charger/cord in there). Also, the larger mesh pocket in the main compartment on the AMP 24 has dual side zippers instead of one top zipper. This helps you more easily use the quad zipper setup to quickly reach into the main compartment to retrieve/replace any stuff in that pocket, & I love being able to do it without rearranging whatever else is in the main compartment (pouches, cases, etc). I was looking at the 12, but ended up going with the 24 mostly for the water bottle pockets, & using it for the past month has been awesome. I bike commute to work, & the helmet shove-it pocket is awesome for a bike lock, helmet, etc. You can even use it for a water bottle or two as well. I second an earlier comment that you can also place one of these gear sets in the main compartment for extra admin organization, which almost gives you more pockets than you know what to put stuff in. Haven't been able to go on any walks/rides when it's hotter out yet to test how the mesh-less panel does with swamp back, but overall I'm having a ton of fun with all the different configurations of this bag. Highly recommended.

    I was lucky enough to buy an AMP 24 and a couple 72s, each with a admin gear set (inside) and helmet/shove-it gear set (outside). I got rid of the hexgrid. The only thing that I didn’t care for was the CCW pocket, but I don’t usually carry off-body, and that pocket is great for maps and other like items.

      @pittwm Před 2 lety +2

      @@sneakerteach2856 No it’s not, I’m referring to the two top female side buckles near the flap. It’s not repair buckle.

    • @aarondunn5447
      @aarondunn5447 Před 9 měsíci

      I had the same problem with the upper female buckles. I just moved the webbing to one side of the buckle to expose the backside, and used a mini hacksaw to *carefully* cut a slot through it similar to the factory slot in the lower buckles. If you're careful, you can cut them in a way that they are still usable if you want to reattach them later.
      I talked with an employee in my local 5.11 store, who said he did the same thing on his personal pack by melting the buckle with a solder iron, but IMO the hacksaw method is better for a cleaner cut. Good luck!

    • @dongordoofthegalletas
      @dongordoofthegalletas Před rokem

      5.11 is telling everyone, that they are no longer in production. It's a bummer. I'm not sure what they're planning, in the future...but it seems like a mistake, given their popularity. I'm using some hook-loop solutions from various manufacturers, in an effort to integrate my existing gearsets, into other bags. Kind of the only solution, to those of us who've invested there.

    • @paulthomasonair
      @paulthomasonair Před rokem +1

      @@dongordoofthegalletas The thing is now, I don't know whether to by the discontinued AMP 12 or the still available Rush 12. Any company would have valid reasons for discontinuing a product and now I'm a bit afraid of buying the AMP 12 as I don't know why they discontinued it.

    • @dongordoofthegalletas
      @dongordoofthegalletas Před rokem

      @@paulthomasonair Can't go wrong, with the Rush series either. I've traveled all over, with an older Rush 72. I got mine, when they first came out. It's a bomb-proof backpack. When it was finally time, to get something smaller, for more everyday tasks (much less overseas, much more down the road). I studied the more covert models...but I ended up looking at Rush 12 also. I can't seem to pry myself away, from the looks...but especially, the layouts. I think the 2.0, would be a great choice. The way the Rush bags expand, and adapt...make them a best buy, in the tac backpack market. I ended up with a Hazards Prime (similar, but also different) and I'm happy, with that choice. There's obviously a lot of Rush DNA, in those bags...the division of space, and unique organization (spaced horizonal molle, tearaway gear mesh, divided storage), are what makes it different. It helped me, that I had a local 5.11 shop, to test drive everything, on their tabletop. If I had unlimited money and space, I'd have 2 of each. 😁

      Thank you for watching! I haven’t heard any news on why it was discontinued, hopefully it means there will be a new version in the future. As good as the amp is i actually prefer the layout on the rush 12

    @darekrey8670 Před 2 lety

    Great movie. However, it seems to me that the AMP10 is a better solution for the urban edc - due to the two side pockets that open from the outside. There is simply better access to them than the top pocket on the AMP12.
