98% of the channels I watch have posted about the negative comments they get. One person really summed it up perfectly in his reply regarding the negativity: “If you dislike me, my channel or my life, then don’t watch my channel. I’m sure with all the channels out there, you will find something you like. If you continue to badmouth me, you will be blocked as I refuse to allow your negativity to touch me or my viewers who enjoy my channel.” I personally love your channel, your animals and your talks with us. Please continue to be exactly who you are.

Some things for you to consider…
You’re young, you’re beautiful inside and out, you’re capable, you’re resourceful, you’re brave, you’re different, you’re smart, you’re articulate, you’re kind, you’re real.
When you put yourself out there with so much honesty, there are some people who cannot cope with it. For them, you mirror back to them all the things they are not. This wounds them, and so, they lash out. It’s the human condition. It’s not personal about you, it’s personal about them.
In a weird way, they are giving you a compliment. They are telling you that you shine so bright and they can’t deal with all that light reminding them of their darkness. It’s their issue, not your’s.
So carry on enjoying comments from those of us who see your light and reflect it back, and say a silent blessing to those who are unable to do so.

I don’t know why people are negative, its most likely because their life is negative and they feel the need to bring others down, don’t worry about them, you’re a lovely person with so much beauty around you, I’m an animal lover also and Im jealous how many beautiful souls you have around you, you just do you and don’t worry about the negative trolls!

I've just recently found you! I love your videos, they are so beautiful, calming and I love your life! My grandfather immigrated to America from Friesland. We have a lot of red hair in our coloring and in our family. My dream is to visit Holland! I have another channel I watch and he deletes and blocks people who are negative on his channel. Your love for your animals 🐎 is obvious, horses have to be managed according to the land and weather. @@MichelleM-ud1hx me too! I live in the country but live on a major East - West road with heavy traffic. Or at least heavy dump trucks as there is a quarry nearby. Only 2 lane road where people live by me the speed limit is 30… either side is 50 mph not many slow down…

Yeah, the negative people and comments are always there. That is life and that is people, you have to just let them and keep moving forward like you are doing. You'll be a big channel I feel like. @@nikkydegraaf of course!! I watch a lot of video's about off grid living, farming, homesteading, building. What I have noticed about the negative people who post hurtful and mean comments is that when they notice a channel growing and the creator getting positive attention and positive comments, they make negative comments to get the attention away from the creator and to themselves, either by the creator or by the other viewers commenting on their mean comment. They are the mosquitos of You Tube, so that's a good way to look at them. They do it to all channels, especially the newer ones or the ones they notice growing and it's not at all about you or what you are doing. It's about themselves and their issues. If I was a Content Creator I'd just block them since I couldn't smack them like I do the ones that always find my ankles to bite when I'm outside. Just remember, for every mosquito that lands on your comment section there are 50 viewers ready to give them the smack down because we know authenticity when we see it and we love having a glimpse into a life we've had, thought of having, plan to have or wish we did have when we were young . Great videos Nikky and appreciate all the work you put into everything you do. Love your love and care of your animals .❤❤

You are a lovely lady and I admire your courage. I don't think you should be affected by negative comments. I expressed concern about the Guinea Pigs being housed outdoors (because it can get very cold where you live) and your reply was that you have kept Guinea Pigs outdoors before. I was concerned about them being kept in temperatures below 15 degrees C, but you would most likely give them a heat source. That comment was made out of genuine concern for their comfort, and was not a negative comment about you. I appreciate the fact that you were not defensive or unkind in your reply to me. I have worked in animal advocacy for decades and I have seen animal neglect that is heartbreaking. Thank you for sharing your life with us and for being honest and kind.

Love the videos!! When you said you speak Dutch I got excited lol I live in Iowa where it's a Dutch colony migrated from the Netherlands !! In orange city Iowa there is a tulip festival every year and they actually make original clothes of the Dutch orders for the queen and her court . Street sweepers and a huge parade look it up to see the beautiful display !! So quiet and beautiful where you are at !! Do you ride your big horse ? They were happy to be put on the grass. I can't wait to see the guinea pig enclosure when it's finished. Looking forward to the next video ❤

Hi Nikki, like you, I prefer time by myself, and with my loved ones. As I’ve gotten older, I made a conscious decision not to give my time to people I don’t care for. I’m very much an introvert, which I didn’t realize until recently, and it explains my childhood and younger adulthood so much clearer to me. Hi Nikky! WOW those double rainbows! Stunning! I am so thrilled to see your channel growing, I understand the vulnerability one would get from sharing your life. I think people are drawn to your natural life, and your truly kind personality, your love for nature and the earth and your animals. Your videos are always calming to me when I watch them. You truly make it look easy but I know how hard you work on every detail of your homestead. Some negative people just like to be internet trolls and I don't understand why people enjoy being unkind to strangers. Your life is something many dream of in this crazy world, I would just delete them and luckily they are few. I could not believe after you put the walls up to the guinea pig enclosure how NICE this is going to be, I couldn't envision it till I saw the walls. amazing! 100 is hot, we just went through that a few weeks ago, it was so hot you couldn't breathe. I do have 2 questions. One , what did you pour over the strawberries? And 2, in your big towns by you, do you have Mcdonalds and all of the popular places we have here in the US? The aerials you close with are so beautiful Nikki, one can't believe how large your property really is! ( I am going to send you the picture on instagram of my cat watching you and your cat on the big tv) so you'll know its me...lol...so cute, I couldn't believe she heard your cat meow and was actually watching you! hahaha. I think the guinea pig enclosure is coming along nicely, I had an idea in my head and sometimes it's hard to explain, but I can't wait to show you when it's completely finished. The thing on the strawberries is called : vla in Dutch. It has vanille taste and is a bit similar to yoghurt. I really like it. And yes, we do have a McDonalds in the bigger cities close by. We have most things pretty close by, because the Netherlands is a pretty small country. But locally we have more small shops, like fresh farm shops. Thank you so much! Hoi Nikky, ik heb genoten van al je mooie beelden die je hebt gefilmd, je hebt er duidelijk oog voor. Hieronder staat in het Engels een heel mooi comment over hoe te handelen met negativiteit. Het is hier jou kanaal en jou content, dus bevalt het niet, dan gaat iemand maar ergens anders kijken, ze zijn niet verplicht hier te blijven hangen. Ik vind het mooi dat je Nederland zo aan de rest van CZcams wereld laat zien. Ik dacht ook nog, voel je niet verplicht al je gevoelens te delen, het is hier niet privé, deel gewoon waar je je veilig en goed bij voelt. En ik begrijp je verhaal over dat het een soort onwerkelijk voelt dat zoveel mensen meekijken in je leven, terwijl je juist niet veel onder mensen bent. Ik heb datzelfde gehad met mijn kanaal, dacht als ik er 100 heb die meekijken is het al veel :) Ga lekker zo door en doe wat je leuk vind, je cavia plek wordt leuk, lekker speels, juist niet perfect, is veel leuker zo. I made a small pond in our little yard....It is so important to have a good pump and careful set up. I made the mistake of putting my pond under a tree which looked very nice, but always there were too many leaves falling into the pond and clogging up the pump!
Thank you for the tips. I have some experience building larger ponds and I will probably not start working on this in the next weeks. It will be just for aesthetics, I will not put any animals in the pond and it's going to be very shallow.
I loved this video! The guinea pig enclosure is looking great. You always seem to have good ideas and then you’re so good at putting things together from your mind to the finished product. In Dutch we call it: vla. It has vanilla taste, and it's a bit similar to yoghurt.
@@nikkydegraaf I get my milk in cartons like that, to put in my morning tea ☺️ I just googled it, it seems to be like the UK 🇬🇧 custard with vanilla. My father was born & raised there. 💐
