First time I’ve seen him! Loved how it felt like he explained just a little deeper maybe than others? Liked him!
Lawman's been a regular Cook's Country cast member since 2019.
Quality ingredients, simple preparation and paying attention to the details can make all the difference in a recipe. This is a winner.
I live in Italy and I send to you LOVE and blessings, beautiful recept 👏👏👏👏👏❤😃😘
This recipe is a definite keeper. My family and friends loved it!😍
Thank you! This recipe is simple and very tasty. I cooked a winter pumpkin, a lightly different version to the butternut squash, but it was amasing.
This looks absolutely amazing. I'm trying this soon.
Great tip (fingertip 🙂) for a measurement reference. When cutting firewood, I cut a limb, 16" long for a measurement stick.
I love these seasonal recipes. I'm cooking scallops and shrimp tonight, and this will go perfectly with it. Great job.
Im not sure cutting firewood and "cutting a limb" should be mentioned together 😀
Wow, this was delicious. Really enjoyed the lesson in the cooking technique of this young man. I’d like to see more of him on test kitchen shows.
I really want to try this! Looks so yummy!
I’m excited to try this!
Will definitely try this. It looked delicious!! Thank you so much.
Looks delicious!
Look awesome! I've got half a butternut squash in the fridge, and now I know what I'm going to do with it!
Looks very nice! I'll try it.
Making tomorrow. Thank you!
I could watch you all day.. next do soup!
Definitely making this!
Looks amazing
A great combination of these fruits in a recipe! This is my kind of food!
Might try this weekend thanks
This was EXCELLENT!!
great. will make this
Learned so much from this video✅
I'm going to make this for the holidays.
IT LOOKS VERY GOOD! GOT TO TRY!
Interesting recipe. Will have to try this one.
you can dry the seed and grow it next year or roast it to eat 😀put the salt into the oil and mix. much better distribution
I feed mine to the birds and squirrels. They enjoy the treat
Looks good.
Great starter
So I just found out that butternut squash were first cultivated not too long ago in Stow, Massachusetts. Which is right near my hometown of Leominster, birthplace of John Chapman aka Johnny Appleseed. This dish is a match made in heaven.
I am looking forward to making the butternut squash recipe , this year.
Delicious 😋
I don't even remember the last time I had butternut squash but I have to try this now!
Lawman, 😍😍
I'd make this!
Yum!
I like already. I like a vinaigrette here too. Only I used apple cider vinegar. Yum. 😋
Now I have two ways to prepare my butternut squash for Thanksgiving. Could I use Granny Smith apples as well. That would make it two types of apple.
Thanks for captions for the Deaf
This looks great! I love the apple combo. I usually make a very simple version of butternut squash for thanksgiving. I’m def going to try adding this vinaigrette. Thx Lawman. We’d like to see you do more recipes.
Making this for Thanksgiving 2022
Well I now know what im making with the squash thats been sitting on the counter.
This will be great to try since I have a bumper crop of butternut squash.
Mmm I love my root veggies
Squash grows above ground. This looks like a recipe that would work with root vegetables as well.
Correct, they do. Guess I got sidetracked. I love the veggies in the fall. Colorful carrots, parsnips etc.
This was really good. Took longer to finish in the oven, but all ovens are different.
Hi
Can you send me a link to the entire episode?
I'm going to try this with an Acorn squash I have.
The heating element is at the top of my oven. I am wondering if the distance should be the same as for below. Looks yummy, and I can't wait to try it woth my homegrown butternut squash. 😋
That would be your broiler element! Your oven should have 2. One top and one bottom. The bottom one on modern ovens is usually hidden beneath a metal panel. Unless your bottom one isn't working.
@@katherinesmith9985 Sheesh! You're right. Clearly I did not think that through! 🤪 I am making this today!
@Joanie S good luck with your ventures! It looks very tasty! Best wishes on your cooking adventures! 😋
Love our new host! This dish looks delicious, and easy. I’m excited to try it.
New? Lawman's been a Cook's Country cast member since 2019 and has worked for ATK since 2014.
I love this host! He trembles! Just tell him we love him and to relax! Keep doing your thing!
❤
Any suggestions as to the variety of apple?
Gala, Fuji or Braeburn as indicated in the linked recipe.
Hi, Thank you
Preheat the pan first for better browning
Or skip the giant butternut and use smaller honeynut. Candystick delicata if you're into far less work.
I noticed that the widest portion of the squash was not cut to the same size as the narrow portion - can I cut the larger pieces in half?
Unfortunately the gals are allergic to apples, could pears work? How would you change the spices
What temperature is the oven at for roasting?

Teach someone to fish>>>Give someone a fish...
@@agmin2098 An effective teacher teaches and does not give away answers at the drop of a hat. We have been surrounded by Internet technology for the better part of...25? years now. Anyone asking how to find something without first taking advantage of the Very Basic Tools right in front of their nose warrants the odd bit of snark whether in word or emoji form. Who are these people who can't do their own legwork? Does their mom still cut up their food? At least yours was the correct response - occasionally people respond with what they *think* is the answer because those Very Basic Tools seem to have eluded them as well. 🤷🏼♀🤦🏼♀
@@agmin2098 "but I see they're your best friend", M. Pot? 🤨
I do use the shrug a lot as a kind of generic "That's it", "I don't know", "What do you think?" ,"Seems simple enough" "A few thoughts", etc., so not in a way that is intended to project snark. I don't use the facepalm nearly as much (as I want to) and more as an expression of exasperation than snark, but occasionally some snark as well. 🤷🏼♀
Coincidentally, fall is one of my 4 least favorite times of the year, as well.
😊👍👍
What is the dressing
The vinaigrette?
I’d like the host to relax. Maybe have a couple of drinks before filming. He seems nervous and I want him to have fun with this info he shares.
I should be able to get the recipe a little easier. I don't like to have to go to a different website where they're trying to click and beat me
Clicking a provided link is hard? That said, some browsers work better than others: Chrome, Edge, Firefox - yes. Safari - not so much. 🤷🏼♀
Would lining the sheet pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper have any effect? (Please don’t make any more reality tv contest shows!)
I think that ship has sadly sailed 😢
ATK has always been about the food. I’m leaving a comment here about the new “Next Generation” video to say that ATK should stay focused on food. I really don’t care about attitude or contests.
The fact that they locked comments on the other video speaks volumes. You’re obviously not alone!
They have kinda defined what "food tv" is in the US. That trailer was cringey af 🤔 I came here prepared to disagree with you and defend them at all costs but yes. This is a terrible direction. That budget could be going to Dan or the Pangs making more vids 😭 the executive team or whatever runs them has made terrible decisions
yes, it's a terrible idea ! I completely agree with you !
TVs kind of like food. You have to try different things to see if it works. and if it’s not for you , then it’s not for you.
It’s like putting salt and pepper on your food before you taste it .
I totally agree. I think that’s precisely why we all love them so much- because they DON’T do those kinds of silly competition shows. I wasn’t impressed by that trailer at all, just the opposite. :(
Did he say what type of apple? It looked like a gala...
Gala, Fuji, Braeburn are recommended in the recipe (link provided).
I have to add to previous comment. If I want to watch cooking contests there are plenty of other (boring & uninformative IMHO options) elsewhere. PLEASE DON’T take ATK in that direction.
CZcams sorts comments by their popularity. your comment does not follow the "previous" comment at all! write your comment to his (!) comment, and not separately.
1st 😁
Lawman, have you had Elle over for dessert yet?
?
Delicious 😋
