God Deep Beyond’s effect is the most dopamine a card can produce. Just nukes the board then comes back to bungus.
I remember going against the person that was piloting the deck for this video yesterday. Had no clue it was for a ten-minute testing and now I feel really bad that I had an end of Bagooska pass when they were trying to get this content out the very next day.

That weird bunny lvl 2 tuner that summons itself on your opponents turn is also quite a good extender as you can go into NON FISH

I’ve been trying to convince people to play it in Swordsoul for like half a year now. If they out your board with Lava Golem or a Kaiju you can just go into a Baronne or you can use up your Chixao negate and turn him into a Chengyeng/Longyuan. There are like a dozen other applications for it too but those are the most obvious and frequent ones and I get tired of writing them all out every time someone brings up Hop Ear Squadron. Basically if your opponent does something to invalidate your turn you can at least still have some sort of interaction.
@@jamesbrincefield9879 it's also unsearchable in the deck though, and swordsoul already need quite a bit of it archetype card for consistency sake (and tenyi still a better combo), so I can see why people don't put it in there.
@@minhkhangtran6948 hop ear is searchable tho you can use noble knight shield bearer which banishes it self for cost similar to water enchantress

Ghoti might be my favorite newer archetype. The artwork is sick, the concept is fantastic, and I'm a real sucker for Synchro Summons. So glad to see it on TMT

Well too damn bad, cause Photon Hypernova is introducing YET ANOTHER new world premiere archetype, meaning no more Ghoti support! Because fuck Konami ever fleshing out world premiere decks like they used to do back in the older eras giving decks FOUR packs worth of support in order for them to actually be fleshed out as much as possible!

So I came back to this vid a year later and I realized that ghoti has pretty decent synergy with sharks xyz
this deck is one card away from being as antimeta has floo but actually fun to play. The banish gameplan is huge in this meta and just being able to run shifter is a free turn win at least. The synchro engine is fun to play and the art is gorgeous, please konami keep supporting this archetype. Also the intro is always top tier
Imagine some guy was walking his dog in the beach and then comes across this guy PUNCHING the SHORE OF THE WATER and screaming "WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE WATER! AAHHHH! SPACE!!" and then chases the seagulls as he screams "TUNE! SYNCHRO!" Then that guy would just call the police at this insane man screaming nonsense while us Yugioh players feel for the crazy man's pain. This is probably the best MBT sketch.

Fun piece of interaction, if you search for Ixeep using the field spell, it can be special summoned by its own effect on resolution of the search, this is because Ixeep doesn’t specify it has to be in your hand when the Fish monster is banished, only that “if a fish monster(a) is banished (except during Damage step): you can special summon this card from your hand”,
so I believe the way it works is because it’s in your hand at the resolution of an effect that banished a fish, it can activate.
Effects that activate in the hand don't "know" if they were in the hand before they activate. Star Seraphs were really good for a similar reason. There are even some cards that say "(Even if it wasn't in your hand)" to make it clear.

Exosister works like that too they dont have to be hand during activation to move a card in the grave they only have to be in hand when the effect to move the card resolves

Okay I was too lazy to look up the reason why people were saying « you’re pronouncing their name wrong, it’s fish », but knowing the reason makes it the more hilarious.
Their names are also « fish » in different languages. Shoutout to Snopios, baguette enthusiast making omelettes du fromage for us in these trying days.
And here was I, thinking it was called Snopios because it could be rearranged to make 'Poisons'.

The idea and art for the deck is really cool we can just hope that they get another wave of support
The intro is hilarious. Ghoti is fairly consistent. Moray of avarice gives you draw power and it banishes your tuners to be summoned on your opponent turn. Gold sarc is a card i think every list should have. You have a plethora of extenders like silent angler, instant/ready fusion (this really help push through hand traps), white stingray, white mirror and a lot more. Lifeless leaffish and beautunaful princess are 1 card starters that equals at least 1 interruption, they are full combo with virtually any extender.
Im definitely not saying this is a meta relevant deck, but it’s absolutely good enough to top or win at locals, even if people know what they do. Also, never just shotgun shifter, especially against tear. Wait for them to commit something important.

So... Ghoti is theoretically about recurring banished monsters in order to ladder into progressively stronger Synchros, eh? In other words, the love child of Metaphys and White Aura? (Yes, White Aura Whale and White Aura Dolphin are part of an archetype.)
White aura is a series,not an archetype since there are no cards that mention “white aura” in the card text

They should make a new card for this archetype, that search tuners into play and can banish itself to summon a tuner synchro from the ED. It may prove to be powerful. Maybe as a link 2 that needs a tuner and one other card, that should balance it.

It makes the deck cheaper that the less useful synchro is the secret rare one, I'm happy about it
You forgot one weakness of the fish.
They are extremely streamlined.
Since they just want to make one thing in a very specific way, you won’t win reliably against someone who understands the deck and will expect your one big play.
While I am sure that many games will be won, by the mere fact that no one understands what they do, they wont too much overall.
That's the beauty of the Spright ED engine build, Elf makes it much harder to respond to Deep Beyond with the usual ways you'd deal with it.
@@johnnywilson3071 if I recall, elf going to be banned tho if Im not mistaken. The fishies cannot rely on that card for long.
For the record, lifeless leafish is a one-card 8. Just summon leaffish, send shif, banish shif, next turn serpent plays. Any ability to banish a 2 with the rest of your cards gets you there. I also think chain and ixeep were being undervalued in the list. Those give you a lot more flexibility in your plays. Not gonna pretend ghoti is incredible, but I think putting in supay makes it more rigid than it needs to be. A second supay in hand is way less valuable than a second ixeep imo and I think it is actually pretty easy to get to serpent. Maybe I’m wrong, I haven’t tested this enough yet.
Serpent send Zep, which synchros on summon. If I'm not mistaken you can go into White Aura Whale and chain block it with Serpent, probably sending Snopios and Lightning Storming your opponent's monsters
I'm going to be honest I ended up cutting Chain, Omen and their searchers (Eanoc, Depths) entirely out of my list due to how bricky they felt. I'm sure there's ways to build the Deck to benefit off of them more (As a heavier focus on Leaffish, playing stuff like Beautunaful makes Depths better), but the cards felt really sad to open so I got rid of them for extenders
@@aWintryGal Yeah I think with these you can either go super heavy on fish to try to keep every ghoti card live at all times or run the best tuners as a small engine in another deck and take advantage of just the powerful synchros. I like water decks and sticking to a theme but I get shaving the whole thing down a bunch.

The birds didn't want to be Baronne extenders. They wanted to end on a board of Empen, Apex Avian, Snowl, and Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds

Like you said needing to draw specific hands in order to play at all sucks but the things this deck can do with those hands is amazing. In my build opening Coelacanth, Paces, and any level 4 ends on Baronne, Toad, Arionpos, and N’tss in the EMZ, with Paces and Shif banished, and Snopios in hand. Went x-2 at the premiere event so it’s at least not terrible.
That's pretty impressive for an inconsistent rogue deck, the artwork is good but 1 or 2 cards to streamline the deck would be fantastic, like how Circular vastly improved Mathmech.
So the mermaids who live in the ocean are DARK but the fish who live in space are WATER

This is my favorite intro 10/10
I'm very surprised that people keep building the ghoti deck wrong, this is crazy. The deck has a 1 card combo that can get you into I:P + lvl 6 fish synchro for next turn. Whats more the deck can generate additional interruptions if you have additional extenders in your hand. Another thing I would say is, I would never play any of the ghoti spell/traps or even dimensional shifter.
The birds already knew how to synchro summon. They won worlds by doing it.

By the way-Zoe isn’t an optional, it’s a trigger in response to being banished on your opponents turn. Means you can sync into Arapnios then pitch him to go into an instant 8, but it’s not a whenever you want, unfortunately.

I wonder what's best between going full synchro with a few links like this list, or splashing some Shark stuff to have access to Xyz like Bahamut (and Toad), Dweller and/or Kragen. I also feel like we can probably increase the consistency by playing less Ghotis (let's be honest... Eanoc isn't amazing and neither is Fury, at this point we could cut all the traps) and maybe adding cards like Beautunaful, which has synergy with Ixeep.
For a one card combo, Leafish is one, by sending Shif - which banishes itself for nothing. During the opponent's turn, you bring back the banished Shif, go into Arionpos, banish Zep from the deck which allows you to climb into a level 8 synchro, and Arionpos banishes itself to add literally anything you might need (often Snopios).
I just feel like overall the deck has space to evolve, this doesn't seem like the "best" version it could be. It does have issues like feeling as slow as a trap deck (you can't exactly do a lot of board breaking on your first turn going second) though.
Eh, I don't think the deck suffers tok much going second. Sure, you don't have the cool fieldwipe synchro available, but keep in mind you can still synchro summon normally. You can most likely make it work, you'd just have to be able to play through negates
I play both kragens (and dweller) to avoid losing to d barrier
