    Since the cover is off I would have blow off all the excess dust off the engine and wipe whatever I can since I'm under the hood. In general, you did a great job and thanks for the instruction and tips. I have the same '16 model and just about six days ago I went into the dealer for a Service B, which I did not wanted to and then the Aux battery decided to alarm and so I went in, they checked and said I needed to change the S-plugs. I saw the quote and decided to do it soon/later for I already paid $15xx. So, I just found your vid and would change the s-plugs myself. Not sure about the 'gapping' - what is that all about?

    One thing I want to add is to clean spark plug wells with compressed air. M274 notorious for collecting sand there and its in Mercedes factory manual.

      Yes, that's also a great idea. Use compressed air and blow into the wells before removing the spark plugs.

      Yes, you definitely need to gap the spark plugs according to the specifications that were recommended by the manufacturer. The spark plugs that you buy from any auto parts places or at the dealerships, they will tell you not to gap them because they came pre-gapped. That is not true at all. So you need to check the gap and adjust the gap according to your car specifications.

    What is the Quinn device you used to set the meter at 23? Do I have to buy one and also do the same for my benz glc 300 when replacing the spark plugs? Thank you for the very informative video.

      The Quinn device that I used in the video is a torque meter to measure the torque when you tighten the spark plugs. It uses the same technology that the digital torque wrench uses. I got the device from Harbor Freight. Not expensive at all, very affordable than digital torque wrench. It comes with instructions on how to set up the torque that you wanted to set up.

    Gap points toward rear of car and metal part faces front of car? That's about how mine ended up at torque spec

      Yep, that means you are in the torque specs.

    What do you do if the spark plug doesnt line up correctly and its at torque spec?

    • @MrBeeHS
      @MrBeeHS  Před 4 měsíci

      They'll be ok as long the torque is within specs.

    How did you mark the plug as the plug was way inside
    .

    • @MrBeeHS
      @MrBeeHS  Před 5 měsíci

      With a permanent marker. I use the pliers to grab the end of the marker.

      @@MrBeeHS How do you know "where" to mark the dot since it was still tighten into the head and the ground was at the bottom?

    • @MrBeeHS
      @MrBeeHS  Před 8 dny

      I marked the spark plugs just for reference. It's nothing to be concerning about as long as the spark plugs torque specs are within range.
      I marked the spark plugs just to see the position or the direction of the ground electrodes are facing....the one that looks like a letter "J".
