Arjen is the tall guy (he's 6'8") with the guitar. Floor's sister Irene is the one on the left of the three backing singers.
This Universe live and Electric Castle live are among the best ever live concerts ever!
I just love this version, everyone is so happy and they are so great, talented and energetic. Of course, so fantastic to see Arjen having fun on stage.
He has crippling stage fright but he always seems to be having a bast when he does get up there.
Universe is perfect from A to Z. Another fantastic version of this song is the "Stream of Passion" one, with Marcela Bovio on vocals, Arjen and Lori on guitars. Another one to see Arjen having fun is of course the Star One set "Live on Earth" from 2003. Both shows are available on YT too :)
This is near the end of the concert and finally Arjen (The Man) appears on stage. After this he gives an 11 minutes speech which is very funny followed by the song Amazing Flight in Space. The keyboardist and co-producer of the show is Joost van den Broek, who played in Floor's first band After Forever.

Love you to react to 'And the druids turn to stone' from this concert. Damian Wilsons voice is sublime in it. He's the guy here in the black. Its not metally, but neither was Valley of the Queens. Damian was offered the lead of Iron Maiden at one point, so he certainly has metal chops.
From all I've heard over the years Damian Wilson was a done deal with Maiden.
The great metal writer Martin Popoff talked about how he was in a pub with Dave, Nicko and Yanick on the night before the new singer was announced. He told them: "I've just spent the day with Steve and he tells me that it's gonna be Blaze Bailey..." and those guys LAUGHED.
Mind you, after that Damian had a very successful career in musical theater and Blaze Bailey was ill-suited to sing on the two worst albums Maiden ever recorded.
@@RolandDeschain1 Im going to spend this weekend watch Damian more, in more metal songs. His voice is so beautiful, it doesn't seem like he would work in Maiden, but from what ive seen so far he would.
@@chrism2964 I think he would have been perfect for maiden. He has that big, booming range that could handle the material, but at the the same time he doesn't sound like Bruce. So there would be no accusations of them just getting a soundalike.
Blaze Bailey, bless him, is a lovely guy and really worked hard live, but he just didn't have the voice for it.
Yeah if you want to see Arjen sing, the Electric Castle Live is really good. I'm sure somebody will suggest a couple songs.

A handy pronunciation tip for pronouncing Arjen's name: it sounds like "Are-yen". Or the letter "R" + yen" if you prefer.
