Thanks for the review, I got the splice first but didn't use it, then I got the dime and I've worn it out, broken bottle opener, broken pliers and blade bends past 90deg. I'm thinking of using the splice now.

Ill have to check out the splice for my son. I've had the dime for a few years. Great for throwing in a tackle box.

I already own the Dime which I picked up 2 years ago for $12 on Amazon. After watching your videos, I will definitely get the Splice before the price escalates. Take care, brother.

Honestly, you can always use the Dime blade to cut bigger things that you would with the larger Splice scissors, but you can't use that scissors to do the things the Dime's needle nose pliers can do. Plus you do get a smaller scissors with Dime anyways. On top of that, those scissors won't work as well as the plastic bubble wraps as well as the specific one that comes with the Dime, there's no need to awkwardly cut with the scissors and cut your fingers everywhere with the edges of the plastic. That tool on the Dime eats those up safely. The only reason I would get the Splice would be 1) price, it is cheaper 2) You need the serrated blade more than the pliers.

I have allwayes used Victorinox the last 35 years since started, all sizes, the SD is nice and compact, the best..... Untill I meet Gerber Dime a few years ago. First I hated the bottelopener, now I love it, I use it for keyring. Great build quality, the box opener is fantastic. til file is a tad too small. Only downside. I have my housekey, bikekey and Gerber dime on a chain in my pocket, then all other on another keyring. Housekey, Gerber dime, bike key, main things. allwayes in my left pocket.
Great video Im a subscriber now.

I just got the gerber splice scissor edition and the non serrated blade design sucks so bad. I was testing if it could cut, and I was putting pressure on it and it i realized after doing it it was moving backwards and digging into a piece of metal and it made the piece of metal that was keeping the blade in a up right angle bend. now the blade can't keep a up right angle and the piece of metal that bent is now sticking out and I cant close it all the way. I think the design in the splice is pretty bad for the knife attachments

I cut the bottle opener off of my dime and sharpened the large screwdriver into a chisle/scraper. If you take the coating off of the files, they work marginally better but still basically worthless. I also had to take a center punch and tighten up the pliers so the wire cutter would work and the same with the micro scissors. I use the pliers, knife and package opener the most. The tweezers are also pretty worthless because they're so thin. Can't believe they're charging $30 for the Dime now. I paid $17 for mine and it's not worth that.

The last year or so I've been carrying my Great Grandpa's old Case knife. I always carried a Leatherman on my belt in the military, and miss having it but i don't want it on my belt. So this is a good idea, I'm just not sure about the size...

only thing holding me back from buying a dime is that its not locking. not that i need it locking i probably dont but idk it still breaks the deal for me for some reason. like my curve better cuz of it.

I stopped carrying my Leatherman 'Squirt' multi-tool because it is not strong enough as an Every Day Carry. When the springs break in the Squirt the pliers and scissors become useless ! Many people have had the springs break in their Leatherman Squirt.
⚠ For some reason Leatherman discontinued their Squirt multi-tool.

I find the Gerber Dime's file completely worthless. It really bugs me that they didn't care about that tool. lol I love the package opener though. And pliers are all right, but I feel like they'd break easily. They've also pinched me a few times, but I guess that's user error. I've never tried the Splice.
