Its a good little multi tool for small jobs. Comes in handy. PThe package opener is a great addition to the tool. Like I said it is a good little multi tool 😊.
Nice review. A few thoughts:
1) You forgot to mention the tweezers :) They're not great, but they work in a pinch.
2) I've owned many Gerber Dimes and gifted many too. They're honestly a lot of fun & very budget friendly. I've also disassembled a fair share of them to remove the blade (to make it TSA friendly) and/or change broken parts. The fact that is has Torx screws is pretty awesome for mods!
3) The tools that always seem to break for me are the scissor spring, the tip of the 2d Phillips and (once) the springs on the pliers.
4) The scissor spring that broke on your Swiss Army Classic Alox is replaceable. You can find those springs on eBay or Amazon ;)
5) I wish the Dime had better steel on the blade... 3CR is just horrible for edge retention.
6) They used to have a Travel version without the knife, which was replaced by a decent file. CRAZY that they discontinued it.
7) I don't use the bottle opener much, except as a key ring. Wish this thing had a 1/4 hex bit magnetic holder instead of the bottle opener or the useless key ring.
8) Lastly, the 25 year warranty is legit. They might take a month to get back, but they're honest to their word and will send you a replacement or fix the tool for you. Cheers!
That's a great idea, removing the blade manually! Could probably transplant another tool in there.

I have the same one since many years: airline approved. Mine looks just as run down . Good tool!
Really, even with the blade? Yeah, if they made the entire thing out of stainless steel, it'd look better. Probably to reduce weight, cost.

Not bad, having owned one for some years now. However the NexTool versions of this concept are FAR better built as well as being cheaper.
I agree that the Nextool ones have higher build quality. Fewer tools in the actual thing itself but more thought put into each one.
