I am at the hospital day 3 since I had a total thyroidectomy and left neck dissection and right nodules removal due to cyst inside of the nodules. It’s all cancer but hasn’t received the pathology test results what stage of cancer I have… I hope it’s gone away 🙏🙏

I’m on my total thyroidectomy post-op day 15 and I don’t really feel any different aside from the visible little swelling on the surgery area. Right after I woke up from surgery, I was already able to talk and eat soft foods.
Thankful to the doctors, surgeon, and other medical personnel who took really good care of me. 🤍

Beacuse of that i find another doctor who is expert for my case and he said that my goiter is a nodular and need an operation because medication wont heal this that only operation can. But it is safe for me to have an operation even though the result of my Ft4(im not sure the name of the test ) is very high? The normal is 14 and my last result is 59.. We've plan that this coming december,we will do the operation.. Is it safe for me?

It was been a year since I have gotten half of my thyroid taken out (I was 12) and its a 1.2% chance for children my to get the type of tumor I got. And in that percentage they would most likely get cancer from it but some how I didn't get cancer. I had a swollen gland and it started pushing on my air way. So they ended up treating it like cancer. So many doctors were interested in it, I remember one doctor within the first minute talking to him he wanted to take an ultrasound just to see what it looked like. I was admitted on the 19th of December 2017 ahhh that was a fun christmas...

Not to mention a-lot of other symtoms that go along with that. That's what happens when you do not have a Thyroid.

That may have to be the case with me I'm not sure I'm kind of worried about it though I'm going to have an ultrasound on my thyroid on Friday and then I got to have it scoped and I'm hoping that I don't have to have it removed cuz I'm afraid of getting surgery in general

Oh give me a break, I had the procedure done the best decision I ever made, Virtually painless in the hospital only overnight. I take one pill once in the morning just like you would take a multi vitamin once A-day no big deal. No longer do I have to worry about if the thyroid become cancerous because once it does that a different ball game. Then you talking About chemotherapy and radiation. And nothing is worth going through that.

Don't be afraid I've have many operations. It was the easiest I ever had. It's been 8years now. Always use a good moisturizer so it won't scar as bad. It didn't hurt at all ever. I went to John's Hopkins if you are in Maryland. They are the school of medicine. So interns worked with a great surgeon.
Really it's not bad. Learn and understand all about it. It will help your anxiety. Wishing you well

No worry just got it done 2 days ago it didn't hurt they don't insert the breathing tube until your completely out of it i wasn't even scared they removed my complete thyroid and recovery was almost instant i still feel woosey from losing so much blood and the anaesthesia but i feel 90% besides that. Hope i helped.
