The main boss theme from this game is my favorite theme from all of the FF games. The variations in the instrumentation and the speed and drive of the song is just fantastic. The amount of different notes used in an incredibly wide variety of variation and scale is one that no other Final Fantasy song other than "One Winged Angel" can really match. The drive, the speed, and the melody of the theme perfectly encapulates how you feel during a boss fight in a video game.
Hah! This brings me back to my very first game over. The Reno fight, I was too young to understand off the bat that you need to attack your own party to break em. He just pyramids my whole party and boom. Then it occurred to me to try it when I accidentally discovered you can attack party members. Good times.

@@BryanHistory In no way was it a typo, it was a 2 part dialogue box "Attack while it's tail is up" then "It will counter with it's laser" they just didn't have space for it in one box or something, maybe decided to split the dialogue for whatever reason anyways. The slight delay between text boxes makes literally everyone think it's wrong. What's said is correct. If it's really a typo then it would read "don't attack and it will use it's tail laser " obviously that's wrong.

It’s not a typo, but the way it is said. The 2 boxes dialogues suppose to show that the sentence wasn’t completed when Barret went on and attack the thing. Or Cloud couldn’t complete his sentence and Barret already shot the thing. A miscommunication between Barret and Cloud. Actually, it was supposed to be cutscene or a small section control fight story where the party will get a counter attack, but they didn’t do it.
There are two things about the way Cloud's warning in the first battle is worded, that can lead to you attacking at the wrong time. 1. The way he words it makes it look like he's telling you to attack while the tail is up, to stop Tail Laser attack happening (though the use of the phrase "counterattack" should hint at what he's trying to say, it's still clumsily written.) 2. There is an exclamation mark at the end of "Attack while it's tail's up!" - that means the sentence is over, so Cloud literally told you to attack while the tail was up.
Bad translation, ofcourse the message was NOT to attack. "This guy are sick" and such. Look up the channel of a dude who translated FF7 japanese on his own, like for instance, Aerith and Baret had a lot more to their characters than there was in the english version.
I see you used the old "Kill off 2 of your party members and revive them so that the Ruby Weapon can't make them disappear" Strategy. Oldest trick in the book.
I was so surprised that a game where you attack by selecting something from a menu could be that good. To me, this is the second best video game I ever played in my life. Behind Mario Bros 3 which was classic and innovative. Being able to pick an item and turn into a morphed person I'd never seen before.
I always loved how the at the start of the game bombing mission plays during the random encounters until you fight the guard scorpion then it switches to Let The Battles Begin the game then does it again but making Let The Battles Begin the main encounter theme, and uses Those Who Fight Further for bosses.
Ah final fantasy, the franchise where your first boss is like a typical machine or low level monster and the final boss is some monstrous hybrid and/or god-level being that you’re somehow strong enough to beat

Starscream91 it’s an event as part of the story, suppose to be a CPU control as part of the story where Cloud said a really bad sentence and wasn’t allow to finish his sentence. When he said “ Attack while its tail is up”, Barret already pulled the trigger and got Boss counter-attack. And they suppose to go at each other again after that. In short, we are supposed to get a damage from the counter-attack from the boss for the first time as part of the story. But in the original game, they didn’t do that sequence. That why Cloud sentence sound bad.

In Wutai, after you get ur materias back from Yuffie u can challenge the bosses in the temple with her... after the final boss (her father) u get it... the bosses are shown in this vid from 43:28 to 59:10... you get Yuffie lv 4 limit as well...

Today I got an idea: I typed "final fantasy 7 boss fight" into youtube, clicked on that video and just listened to it. Without watching it. So I just imagined the attacks by sound. The materias, the invocations, the healing : ], the CRITICAL STRIKE :0, THE LIMIT BREAK OMG D:, THE BOSS DEATH SOUND , the xp :' >, the materias leveling up :" D It was a great idea.
People would not agree with me but I love the idea of magic spells sometimes miss like physical attacks, in most games once you have access to mid or high rank level spells players forget to use other attacks and forget the joy of having a balanced gameplay I just wish more games have this mechanic again, not to rely 100% in magic attacks all the time and be more resourceful with the strategies

You have to use the bolt in the magic even if the MP will decrease. Do not attack while its tail is up. If Cloud is dead, use Barret and select 'Item'. Next, use 'Phoenix Down'(if possible) and give it to Cloud. If the LIMIT gauge is full, use it. It's the best way because it deals more damage on the enemy/boss. If you only have 1 Phoenix Down, choose carefully. The bolt does more damage to the 1st boss.

I used to play a living shit out of this game as a teen. And now... Well, I did notice one funny thing. Things looked much smoother back then when I was playing this game for a fist time. All those shapes like tires that just looks like polygons right now, they looked like real tyre even though they were made out of hexagon shape. Funny...
I remember not realizing that there was another character in Nibelheim for so long and because I never thought about it, my stepdad reminded me to find this missing character and because my characters were at a very high level at the time, the boss at 29:18 was the easiest boss for me. xD And this was back when I was 9 years old(and I'm 23 now). xDD
Final Fantasy 6 is second best, Final Fantasy 4 after, then FF 5, then Phantasy Star 4, the Shining Force 1, then SF 2. It is all down to personal preference and opinions really. IMO FF 7 is way down the list of greatest RPG's. You've got stuff like Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu that are also pretty damned awesome, including other Phantasy Star games, Final Fantasy 9, the Dragon Quest games, etc.
l wonder, for the second game in the Remake...How will they handle Palmer? It will look rather silly to have a SOLDIER wannabe with actual mutations, a hardened guerrilla leader, an expert martial artist, an Ancient, a highly intelligent quadruped mammal and a Kunoichi (if you picked her up) to be struggling against an aged, out of shape man with a gun. Because, l mean, back then it was funny due to the graphic style, and how the game handled itself. The Remake seems to be taking a rather more serious tone and of course, it also has a realistic style to graphics instead of a stilized one.

Have you played fantasy games that have characters like Palmer? It's Final Fantasy, it's not Modern Warfare. A series were you can look handsome, fit, able to do abnormal strength and agility along with surviving multiple gunshots unless you're Zach. It's not hard to imagine characters like him to be unexplainable how he takes on Cloud's party. Graphics are realistic, yes, but it's not like it instantly has to be logical. I mean you slice up Turks yet they don't look like they're dying from getting sliced by a massive buster sword.

Given how the demo was, l don´t see them just throwing Palmer with his handgun at us and still have him be hard to stagger. l am not asking for a Ninja Gaiden/MGR boss fight either, l just want it to feel...Like it fits. l know we have been doing crazy or silly things over the years in these games...But again, the Remake is setting a specific atmosphere, and struggling against an aged, fat guy with a handgun wouldn´t fit in it...With that said, if they indeed kept Palmer as is, would l immediately think lower of the games, or would l go on a fit online complaining about it? l certainly wouldn´t, l´d still enjoy it for what it is and that detail would only be a minor flaw in my eyes, nothing more. Also, l had to google Modern Warfare, haha. l am not knowledgeable on that kind of games at all, but l did assume it was a shooter, so l wasn´t too off the mark. Yes, l have played several FF games, not all of them granted, but even FFXIV takes care in not throwing just anyone against a party of 8 players, they power up to the point that assembling a party is justified. Because, l mean...Even the movie was careful about not making Rufus suddenly be able to take on Kadaj just because, or Reno be on par with Cloud after all the latter went through. All that l´m asking is a tiny bit of consistency, nothing more, which, again...If it doesn´t happen, l won´t think bad of the games at all.
Man, when you just have beaten Bizzarro Sephiroth and then everything goes black for a moment, just for his theme to start up as fucking horror movie score. i piss myself just thing about this one winged angel, its so epic and scary, i love FF7 and im loving to play all the others FF's, but man it will be hard for any other to suprass the moment when in the heat of the showdown sephiroth uses his limit

The Climhazzard is a nasty limit break during the middle portion of the game. Especially against bosses.

These fights against Emerald and Ruby were so long. When you defeat them, you are quite surprised that you finally did it.
But mostly it’s a sense of, “Oh thank you Jesus! I thought it’d go on forever!”
Especially Ruby Weapon. I don't play the game,but Even I know that its Defense Is So Damn High it would feel like it took a Century to beat.

Why do I admire the idle animation of the Godo boss? All three separate ones are neat to look at. I like the idle with the red face in front the most.
The faces tell you what moves he'll do next. But yes Godo is probably my favorite looking boss.
It's obvious that Rapps has the Aero 3 spell, but are there any enemies that had Aero 1 or 2? Don't recall seeing them anywhere in the game.

I typed "final fantasy 7 boss fight" into youtube, clicked on that video and just listened to it. Without watching it.
So I just imagined the attacks by sound. The materias, the invocations, the healing : ], the CRITICAL STRIKE :0, THE LIMIT BREAK OMG D:, THE BOSS DEATH SOUND , the xp :' >, the materias leveling up :" D

i think we have enough Felipes in Brazil and Spain...
People would not agree with me but I love the idea of magic spells sometimes miss like physical attacks, in most games once you have access to mid or high rank level spells players forget to use other attacks and forget the joy of having a balanced gameplay I just wish more games have this mechanic again, not to rely 100% in magic attacks all the time and be more resourceful with the strategies

Lol... Yea I was 11 when this game came out, and I died to this for like a month and a half because I didn't understand the entirety of Barret's silly-fuck half-statement
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Cloud saying that? "Barret! Attack while it's tail is up"
You have to use the bolt in the magic even if the MP will decrease. Do not attack while its tail is up. If Cloud is dead, use Barret and select 'Item'. Next, use 'Phoenix Down'(if possible) and give it to Cloud. If the LIMIT gauge is full, use it. It's the best way because it deals more damage on the enemy/boss. If you only have 1 Phoenix Down, choose carefully. The bolt does more damage to the 1st boss.
You know you got a good game when you have 2 and a half hours of just boss fights.

I used to play a living shit out of this game as a teen.
And now... Well, I did notice one funny thing. Things looked much smoother back then when I was playing this game for a fist time. All those shapes like tires that just looks like polygons right now, they looked like real tyre even though they were made out of hexagon shape.

I remember not realizing that there was another character in Nibelheim for so long and because I never thought about it, my stepdad reminded me to find this missing character and because my characters were at a very high level at the time, the boss at 29:18 was the easiest boss for me. xD
And this was back when I was 9 years old(and I'm 23 now). xDD

Final Fantasy 6 is second best, Final Fantasy 4 after, then FF 5, then Phantasy Star 4, the Shining Force 1, then SF 2. It is all down to personal preference and opinions really. IMO FF 7 is way down the list of greatest RPG's. You've got stuff like Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu that are also pretty damned awesome, including other Phantasy Star games, Final Fantasy 9, the Dragon Quest games, etc.

Perfect party against Hojo is Cloud, Red XIII and Vincent, allowing them to take a revenge on Hojo.

l wonder, for the second game in the Remake...How will they handle Palmer? It will look rather silly to have a SOLDIER wannabe with actual mutations, a hardened guerrilla leader, an expert martial artist, an Ancient, a highly intelligent quadruped mammal and a Kunoichi (if you picked her up) to be struggling against an aged, out of shape man with a gun.
Because, l mean, back then it was funny due to the graphic style, and how the game handled itself. The Remake seems to be taking a rather more serious tone and of course, it also has a realistic style to graphics instead of a stilized one.
I suspect if they don't cut the fight they'll give him back up

Have you played fantasy games that have characters like Palmer? It's Final Fantasy, it's not Modern Warfare. A series were you can look handsome, fit, able to do abnormal strength and agility along with surviving multiple gunshots unless you're Zach. It's not hard to imagine characters like him to be unexplainable how he takes on Cloud's party. Graphics are realistic, yes, but it's not like it instantly has to be logical. I mean you slice up Turks yet they don't look like they're dying from getting sliced by a massive buster sword.
@@gregwilliams4926 logic and impact are two entirely different things. l am not asking for realism or logic, l am asking for a great fight, or a good "joke" one. Given how the demo was, l don´t see them just throwing Palmer with his handgun at us and still have him be hard to stagger.
l am not asking for a Ninja Gaiden/MGR boss fight either, l just want it to feel...Like it fits. l know we have been doing crazy or silly things over the years in these games...But again, the Remake is setting a specific atmosphere, and struggling against an aged, fat guy with a handgun wouldn´t fit in it...With that said, if they indeed kept Palmer as is, would l immediately think lower of the games, or would l go on a fit online complaining about it? l certainly wouldn´t, l´d still enjoy it for what it is and that detail would only be a minor flaw in my eyes, nothing more.
Also, l had to google Modern Warfare, haha. l am not knowledgeable on that kind of games at all, but l did assume it was a shooter, so l wasn´t too off the mark. Yes, l have played several FF games, not all of them granted, but even FFXIV takes care in not throwing just anyone against a party of 8 players, they power up to the point that assembling a party is justified. Because, l mean...Even the movie was careful about not making Rufus suddenly be able to take on Kadaj just because, or Reno be on par with Cloud after all the latter went through. All that l´m asking is a tiny bit of consistency, nothing more, which, again...If it doesn´t happen, l won´t think bad of the games at all.
Man, when you just have beaten Bizzarro Sephiroth and then everything goes black for a moment, just for his theme to start up as fucking horror movie score. i piss myself just thing about this one winged angel, its so epic and scary, i love FF7 and im loving to play all the others FF's, but man it will be hard for any other to suprass the moment when in the heat of the showdown sephiroth uses his limit
