- Our Marella Far East Cruise started with a long flight to Singapore from Birmingham but also a day and a half to explore beautiful Singapore before we set sail.
So despite the jet lag we pushed ourselves and immersed ourselves in Singapore’s green spaces and nature reserves. We discovered the wondrous Gardens by the Bay, the incredible Botanic Gardens and Orchid Gardens but also took a 3 hour hike through Singapore’s rainforest following the MacRitchie trail. We were rewarded with some truly memorable experiences and encounters with Singapore’s wildlife. These are memories to last a lifetime.
This video covers
Day 1 -
The flight to Singapore
The Singapore MRT and getting lost
Gardens by the Bay
Beers and Chinatown
Day 2 -
- Windsor National Park
- MacRitchie Nature Trail
- Treetop walk
- Singapore Botanic Gardens
- National Orchid Garden
- Ships onboard entertainment

Thank you! We really appreciate you watching and taking time to comment
That rainforest park looked amazing. It makes us think we should go back again soon. Looking forward to the next episode. Good work guys. 😀👍
Thank you - We’d go back in a heartbeat. Singapore 🇸🇬 is on our ever increasing list of destinations to return to for deeper exploring. MacRitchie park was such an oasis of nature on the island. A really good find from watching other peoples CZcams channels. Hope this Vlog helps others similarly.
Love orchid garden.
Netty was in her element ! Orchid paradise
You both look amazing. Great job. Love the content.
Thank you - Really appreciate those kind comments.. Cheers 🍻
Amazing 👏 ❤️ 😍
Thank you Naseem .. These were brilliant experiences
Just settling down to watch this. Nice t-shirt Si, I saw Jesus Jones in Liverpool Uni many years ago. This is looking great!! The tube looks clean, shame you were on the wrong line haha. Ah, that building with the ship shape on top, we always see on the F1. Beer stop, yep, very important! We would love to do this. Fab first day! Have you broken into the theatre to do this next section 😂? It’s great when you understand a city’s metro, makes life easier, we finally braved Rotterdam’s metro. Loved the chickens, shame we didn’t see boars but the thieving monkeys were great! The walk looks lovely, we’re both sat here watching saying, ‘we need to do this’. The tree top walk looks really cool, such stunning views. Watch out for snakes and lizards. The otters were very cute. The show looked interesting, the cocktail equally as good! Really enjoyed that both, fab stuff. Gonna do pt 2 next!!! 🍻
Thx Guys - Saw Jesus Jones again recently in a pub in Milton Keynes - Heaps of fun. We loved Singapore and our second attempt mid cruise was also amazing. VLOG on its way. I would recommend Singapore to anyone it was brilliant. Loving your P&O Vids and hopefully they’ll fund plenty more cruise adventures for you .. Cheers 🍻
Great video, we fly from Birmingham to Singapore in a couple of weeks. We plan to do the Gardens by the bay on the day we arrive and the Botanical Gardens when we return mid-cruise so we can take our time. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment. You’ll have a great time and Singapore is amazing. We packed in a busy second visit mid cruise. There is so much to see. Hope our Vlogs help you plan your adventures. Thx again
Came across your video~ glad you enjoyed Singapore. Hope to see u back soon :)
Thank you ! We loved it in Singapore - This was our 1st time there but certainly won’t be our last ! Appreciate you taking time to leave a comment
There’s a boardwalk right along the edge of the water in MacRitchie - it’s stunning! You almost feel like you’re walking on water, that’s how close to the edge it is. Worth checking out if you’re ever back in Singapore. Sungei Buloh wetland reserve is another slightly ‘wilder’ area teeming with wildlife (crocs visible on the marsh at low tide; don’t worry it’s quite safe…). 😁
That sounds totally awesome and much more our thing than another cocktail 🍹. MacRitchie was a real gem and we are so glad we found it and got to explore some of it. Appreciate you watching and providing these additional insights.
Considering a similar trip next winter, did you need any visas for any of the stops or vaccines? Looking forward to all your vlogs from this trip
Thanks for watching and supporting us. Appreciated. You need to complete an online immigration form for Singapore each and every time you visit … That’s 3 times on this cruise … Arriving, Mid Cruise and Departing. This is easy to do and there is an APP which makes it easier. Search MyICA on the APP store. Formalities for Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam were taken care of by the ship. They request you submit your passports to them to allow them to do this. It’s easier for them to do it. You get an immigration card issued to you by the ship for Vietnam which you have to carry with you whilst ashore. It was pretty painless to be honest and well managed by Marella. Vaccine wise always speak to a medical professional. Your health record and planned activities may impact what’s recommended. For us we had Hepatitis A, Diphtheria and Tetanus jabs. Typhoid was an option we did consider seriously but decided against and chose to only eat street food in Singapore and use regulated food courts in other countries rather than buy from street vendors. Each of the main cities has a large mall with a food court in them that is regulated with a filtered water supply so theoretically safer. Hope you get to make this trip and we are sure you’ll have a great time… Thx again
Ru currently at Singapore or flew back home
Thx for watching - We are back in the UK now.
Looking at doing this cruise in 2025. Do you need any visa's to visit these countries?
You need to complete the Singapore immigration online or via the MyICA app within 3 days of arrival for this itinerary… that is it and Marella take care of everything else.. you surrender your passport to Marella at various points of the cruise to allow them to sort for you …
Stop saying 'ya'
thank you
