Hi again from Canada! What a beautiful performance. I also just watched some of your CZcams “Shorts” and since there wasn’t an opportunity to leave a comment I’ll comment here: It was so clear that you were both having great fun. It was lovely to see. Your pure enjoyment of music shows so much.
(I wrote to you about the Slavonic Dances in an earlier comment, just to refresh you)…. so I also played this Haydn Concerto - 1st movement only - on a Canadian TV show in the 1960s called “Tiny Talent Time”. I was 9. I wasn’t able to reach an octave so I couldn’t play the octaves! And I have no idea how the orchestra part was incorporated. I have no memory of that at all!! I don’t know what my piano teacher was thinking. Anyway, I remember having lots of fun.
Keep playing and having fun. You’re both so talented and clearly with an exceptional teacher. Bravo!
Thanks so much! You were 9? Thats nice, that is quite a challenging movement for such a young age. At what age did you start learning?
@@AdamandMateBalogh Yes, I realized when I saw (you ) playing it that this is indeed challenging. Your technique and musicianship is outstanding. I started playing at 7. My first teacher was very ambitious for me I think and pushed me beyond what I was capable of really. As I said, I couldn’t even reach an octave so I didn’t play those consecutive octaves.
When I started with a new teacher at 11 he had me go right back to the Bartok Microcosmos starting at Book 1 and building up proper technique at the same time.
You two (I’m not sure who reads this and responds) have been taught brilliantly from the beginning it seems. Your technique, and of course your musicianship is just outstanding. I am loving watching you play. Good luck in your upcoming performance at the competition. Congratulations!!! 👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you! Bartók in Canada? Wow! It is interesting, we started from some American method book. It was fun, but when we got to a proper teacher, she quickly started Bartók with us too.. :D
@@AdamandMateBaloghOh my goodness! Same story! I thought it was only my teacher’s idea! Thank you for sharing that. Maybe there are many teachers all over the world (not just Hungary and Canada 😉) who start their students with the Microcosmos! Also - I studied Music Education in university (here in Canada) and the pedagogic teaching method we were taught was the Kodaly method. Go Hungary 👏🏼
Wow, makes us proud! :) But to be honest starting with the Faber book brought faster progress, maybe that was why we stuck around.. Otherwise many children quit. They dont really like bartok. Bartók is too old-school for today, the melodies are folk songs, and we dont really know them as well as say our grandparents did.
