  • @nicolasrodriguesdossantos1881

    Racionais were and still are heavily inspired by Pac and that american hip hop era. They are and represent to brazilian favelas what Pac and B.I.G were for U.S hoods: an example to be followed.

    That part abou the "crowd being a faceless moster" is about people who live in the streets, people who asks for help, but to the people passing by they're invisible...so that's why the crowd is a faceless monster, it doesn't even look at you, doesn't even show their faces to reply to you...you are invisible to them.

  • @nathaliaguarienti2099
    @nathaliaguarienti2099 Před 2 lety +8

    I'm a favela resident, I'm poor and brown, not black. I'm speaking my opinion about everything, but only about what I've lived and witnessed. So, being that way, I'm not referring to the reality in the USA, but in the neighborhood where I live, and in the places I frequented.

    • @nathaliaguarienti2099
      @nathaliaguarienti2099 Před 2 lety +2

      I know many stories, many versions, rich, poor, white, black... I won't go into the merits of what I agree or disagree with, but how I think it would be a possible path to people's respect and freedom.
      I honestly think that what is destroying our modern society is hypocrisy...
      The human being is flawed and we all have the same defects, some more, some less... But selfishness, prejudice, fear are programmed in us... Whites, blacks, rich, poor... We are all beings humans, and with a quick look at the animal we are, we can understand that to a certain extent, we are as predictable as a dog, or a bird in a cage...

    • @nathaliaguarienti2099
      @nathaliaguarienti2099 Před 2 lety +2

      Brazil was the last country to abolish slavery, sad! Nowadays, we have many strict laws against racism, be it in society, at work... wherever! Even so, racist people appear every day, but I believe that the vast majority, are hidden, outside the law, pretending they are great people, but when they have the opportunity, they harm someone because of their skin color, or social condition.. .
      But Brazil is a mixed-race country, and in 70% of families, you find relatives of all colors, and I believe this can happen in other countries too...
      The point I want to get to, being very superficial and with little time to write a huge text that I don't even know if it will be read, understood, as a sincere opinion and with the objective of exchanging ideas.... is that:
      Movements like Black Live Matter arrive in Brazil bathed in hypocrisy, ulterior motives, manipulation of the people in search of votes for corrupt politicians...
      I believe that "All Live Matter", and when whites and blacks start to see each other only as people, citizens... then yes, we can have a better future...
      I don't believe in the union of countries along the lines of socialism, much less communism... I believe that each one having the sovereignty of their own country is like each one owning a house, otherwise it would become a mess, people would go to other people's house just to do what they don't want in their own house.... But anyway, what I believe is, we should see ourselves as people, as members of the same species... as responsible for our planet... But politics always divides us, creates friction between populations of neighboring countries, in exchange for what? Political polarization, media, beautiful speeches that only serve to manipulate....
      Do you think Fidel Castro, Kim Jong Um, puttin... They all came to power speaking the truth? Or promising a magical and glorious future for everyone, including those who do nothing to try to have a better future?
      Just think about it, if you answer, I'll read it and we'll keep talking...
      Here in Brazil, what there is most is left-wing youth, who spend the whole day smoking marijuana, at night snorting cocaine, and then blaming their problems on the "system", many of whom have a mother, father, who work and they give everything to these bums all day on the street, with branded clothes....

      @@nathaliaguarienti2099 Falo muito e falou muita merda, já ta no caminho de ser um puta reacionário . Só de citar "All lives matter" e concordar me da um nó no estômago, parece que você não entendeu nada do contexto do que é o movimento do "Black lives matrer" e do que o movimento oposto significa. Entendo seu pensamento e discordo totalmente, ele só valeria em um mundo onde todos nasceram com as mesmas oportunidades. É bonito falar que somos todos humanos e devemos nos respeitar igualmente, mas é só bonito no papel e discurso de quem não viveu a vida. Como você disse só falou do que viveu, e oque eu disse também é só das minhas experiências de vida, mas me quebra saber que tem um comentário desse em um contexto que é uma mina reagindo é Nego Drama que o discurso é o completo oposto disso. Talvez por ter crescido na favela acredite que conheça tudo e por isso se coloque na posição de julgar já que está no mesmo ambiente, entendo já que conheço gente igual que acredita que só não sai de lá quem não quer, mas existe um espectro muito grande mesmo numa favela tanto que tu usa sistema entre aspas pq não sabe nem ao menos oque é e ao que se referem pq se soubesse não colocaria aspas.
      Mas pô vim falar isso escutando NEGO DRAMA você ta de SACANAGEM, espero que tenha só caído de paraquedas pq fica difícil acreditar. Paz irmão, perdoa minhas ofensas, mas não há como não se indignar quando eu tenho a ciencia do que suas palavras significam para o movimento, no mais te respeito como pessoa sempre.

      just another fact about Brazil; most of africans were sent to brazil. of all the americas or colonies brazil has the most african american population outside africa. while countries around us still have native americans. brazillian natives, acording to historians, decided to just let them killed instead of fight, they just kind of surendered. it was genocide. when they had enough with the natives here just laying down and just "kill me already" situation, african enslaved were resisting, finding a way to pass their beliefs, culture, etc to younger generations. it is still alive, the conutry is african americam and the culture is based on african dieties and religions were created, dances were created, food, everything in order to keep it alive. mixed with many diferent beliefs such as native american and catholic. this goes to many imigrants too. brazil has the most japanese population outside japan. my family is a grey goo of mix :) lebanon, syria, native american, portuguese, croatia, italy, so on , so on, so on... most of the population of this country comes from all over. we are ALL the same. for example; my mother is italian and my father lebanese, as most direct heritage i mean. as i understand in US if you are from an italian family, or a muslim family you are considered as such. here there's no such thing. you are brazillian. period. arab, european, african american, whatever. maybe i am being naive..but why such drama? it doesnt matter if you are blue, green.. why? i was born here, with no reference of any other culture besides this one. brasil. and yes my dear! :) no problem saying that your only reference was Rio, it's great. i feed the the exotic birds you saw just like the movie every morning with bananas and papayas :) it's all fine!

    Just a comment: at the time 1:55
    He really meant to say "between the success and the mud" in portuguese is "Entre o sucesso e a lama", he is trying to say that people who are black and poor in Brazil they are on this thin line, between the success and the mud.
    But normally the society try to force him to fall into the mud. Because there alot of racist people in Brazil into political leadership positions (cough white and rich corruption cough). It's so sad that it happen here in Brazil and the rest of the world.
    But we keep going to try make this a little better! I mean, I gonna try do my part, and hope that people do the same(PLEASE HUMANITY)!

    That part he's talking 'bout internet he's actually making a statement that the whites who control the system, control the means of production and the black people are thrown as slaves around the power game... But still that game is a dirt game - controlling government, huge companies, the hole capitalism that slaves a people to make profit out of it - and that does not fit his essence as a human being that just wanna live and not be a slave.
    He's also completing by saying that black people on that slavery society is seen as a day in, day out problem, but matter a fact don't get him wrong because he came from the jungle, and he's not anyone - in like he's not a hyena, but a lion on the meaning of the system can try to kill him, but never shut down his spirit.
    This hole song shows the fight class between the rich and poor, the planter and the slaves, the owner of production mean and the shitty paid workers. Racionais is very deep and has written all over what would MLK, Malcolm and what black panthers has always fought for. Even here in brasil the higher class does not really like them, because on capitalism the only way you can be in a higher class is if you're born on it, and along with that traditional family and be white, because this so-called democracy we have on the capitalism is just a new type of apartheid and eugenics.

    Depois da escravidão sim, passamos pelas mesmas coisas, mas mesmo assim a sensação do preconceito e foda, racismo não foi inventado só para preto por causa de uma atrocidade do passado, um homem branco sendo agredido por ser branco e estar no meio de homens preto tbm e racismo que tem os mesmo sentidos e sentimentos de dor que qualquer tipo de preconceito, gordo,magro, cabeludo ou careca, cabelo duro ou liso.

      So para pra ver oq vc ta falndo quantas pessoas negras não são espancados, estupradas, diminuídas e mortas tds os dias? Um branco nunca vai pasar oq um negro passa ele nunca vai saber oq é ver tds os seus traços, cabelo, cor, cultura e religião diminuídas. Vai muito além disso não é só sobre apanhar na rua mas tbm sobre vivemos em extrema pobreza, sobre sermos ensinados pela mídia q nossos traços não são bonitos e nos odiar por isso, sobre não termos oportunidades, sobre uma atrocidade q não foi reparada até hj, sobre o medo de alguém q vc ama ir trabalhar e não voltar pq a polícia "confundiu" ele. Entao NÃO, NÃO É A MSM DOR e um branco NUNCA vai,saber oq e 1/3 disso

      Sim é horrível, mas não tem como comparar o que acontece no USA com o Brasil, aqui é quase um paraíso perto da história daquele país, no Brasil se você for preto, marrom, amarelo ou branco vai se fuder do mesmo jeito porque aqui no Brasil quem é pobre sempre foi tratado como inferior.
