VVS Laxman Reminices Dressing Room Banters, Batting Injured & Dada's Lords Celebration | BwC S5E11
    25 Lakhs+ Views
"Tough Time Doesn't Last, Tough People Do", a phrase synonymous to VVS Laxman. The test cricket legend is here with Gaurav Kapur sharing a kettle of tea, as he speaks about his Band of Brothers - Ashish Nehra, Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh & Virender Sehwag, remembering hilarious incidents.
Batting with Rahul 'The Wall' Dravid when he was down with viral & his back spasm hurting, holds a special place in his heart. He also remembers pulling Dada's shirt at Lords and hails it as a statement. He has lots to talk about including Andrew Symonds, Kane Williamson & David Warner.

There is a very BIG difference with the Guys like Gavaskar,V.V.S ,Dravid they were real Stroke players! They never Cross Batted in shot it was quality over quantity......now it's the reverse sweep, the Dil scoop.....there no class!! During my school days, our coach would make us run 2 rounds of the stadium if we played Cross. We were taught, no matter the runs but play it the way it's to be played! & these Gentlemen kept the stroke play alive....Cover driving a spinner for 4 .....try that!!

I never get tired of watching this particular episode of BKC. I think Laxman’s genuine emotions combined with amazing storytelling and the background score makes this one a truly special episode. The latest BWC episodes with current lot of young cricketers pales in comparison to the 90s lot. But even amongst the episodes with the 90s gen, this one stands out in particular. Makes you laugh, cry and reminisce.

90s and early 2000s were the golden times for cricket. Every single team appeared invincible and was star studded. Matches actually used to be nail biting unlike today. Just thinking about batsmen like Sachin, Rahul, Ponting, Inzy, Sangakarra, Kallis (the list is endless) facing bowlers like Wasim, Waqar, Vaas, Muralitharan, Warne, McGrath, Lee, Pollock (and so many more) on a regular basis makes me feel nostalgic and emotional.
