  • I hard-core field-tested the new Delkin Power G4 series 2 TB CF Express Type B card: 8K NEV (NRAW) at 60 full frames per second FX aspect ratio. And I tested it in 88ºf heat according to Siri. I often shaded the camera from the sun, but not constantly.
Previously, I tested the normal Delkin Power series (non-G4) 2 TB CFE-B card. It wouldn't record at 8.3K at 60P, and caused the Nikon to run out of buffer. The new G4 is built on PCIE 4 specs as where the old was PCIE 3. So, I had to try out the G4 version (which was less than $80 more than the non-G4 card).
If you decide to buy the 2 TB G4 card, please consider getting it from here (which is where I purchased mine): www.thepixelco.... They provided amazing customer service, and I'd love to steer business their way.
To watch the comparison video with the non-G4 version 2 TB card, go here: • Delkin Power 2 TB CF E...
PS The Delkin smaller cards may perform better than their larger-capacity siblings. Let me know if you find this to be the case.

That’s some great performance from the card and the camera. I wonder if the hot camera warning would come on later or get to red, if the other part of the screen was pulled away from the camera. I recall seeing that card on Delkin’s site but cannot find in on Amazon. I’m fairly certain it was listed at 1 point but it seems line the number of Delkin cards on Amazon is going down. Hopefully, this is due to a switch over and not them no longer carrying the brand.

I talked to a Delkin rep to find out why they didn’t carry them on Amazon yet. It’s still a brand new card, and supply-chain issues and manufacturing factors play a role. I ordered mine through The Pixel Connection in Ohio (I think it’s Ohio). They shipped it to me likely faster than Amazon would have.

Seems like most of the manufacturers are ramping up their 2.0 cards however, I wonder if they will pull back on that with the 4.0 specification out now. Prograde advertised their 1.3TB 4.0 card with read speeds of 3400MB/s and write of 3000MB/s with sustained write at 2800MB/s. This means prices for 2.0 may start to drop as the 4.0 versions come out.

Interesting, I would like to see these G4 series compared to there Delkin Black Series.

According to the Delkin Website, the largest Delkin Black card is 1.3 TB and writes a sustained 1560 MB/s. The largest Delkin Power G4 card is a 2 TB and writes a sustained 1490 MB/s. So, Delkin Black is still a tiny bit faster. I know people swear by Delkin Black for longevity/reliability. I've been using the Power series for over a year now without issue.
I wanted to try the G4 because the prior Power series 2 TB card was too slow for 8k 60p. The 128 GB cards worked, but would only hold about 2 1/2 minutes. The G4 was suggested to me by Delkin. On a side note, they also let it slip that the 128 GB card actually holds 512 GB.

Update: Delkin has also updated the Black series to G4 Black.

Thanks for the video. Have you by any chance got to try the smaller Power G4 cards, eg 512GB, with a sustained write speed of 805MB/s? How well do they perform?

Think that the small cards are actually faster. At least that was the case for the older series. On a 128 GB older-series card I filled up the card but I only got like four minutes out of it. But the older series 2 TB card would only buffer and then would stop. So, the smaller cards actually outperformed the larger cards but didn’t have the same capacity obviously. I talked to a Delkin rep about it, and he said the 128 GB cards were actually 512 GB cards. A register is 128 GB due to the way that they record.
So I expect a G4 smaller cards perform just as well or maybe even faster than the larger cards. But who only wants to record five or 10 minutes?
