Here in Brazil , Varig(1991-2006) and Vasp (1992-2000) operated this aircraft.

FedEx and UPS still use them but probably not too much longer.
What makes the MD-11 so elegant is that its wings are close to the back of the plane making it fly like an arrow! It's much bigger and its wings are more sweptback than other planes whose wings are placed near the back of the plane, plus the three high-bypass engines!

WELL, I never noticed until this video that all ailerons droop for takeoff, but not for full flap on landing!

Hehe this is actually the original video from 2010 ;) The other one you're talking about with the music was actually a Re-make that I did to announce my second trip to Princess Julianna in 2011.
However I've taken down that video because it had some sever format issues after CZcams chanced the decoding of the videos (or something like that...) it happened to more then 50% of my videos but I was able to fix some of them. That's why I do the Re-uploads now a days.

before anyone says this is a DC-10 look at the plane more closely notice the cleaner cut tail, the front gear isnt as far back as the DC-10s and it has a 2-wheel set of wheels under the belly

@pilotdynan ok i see it i saw it when the plane was landing, i noticed that all the engines make a different noise, #1 makes the roar, #2 on the tail, makes lke a "WHHHOOOOOOOOO" noise, and #3 makes a "EEEEEE!!!!!" noise

you have thrust-based takeoffs, and you have lift-based takeoffs. Lift-based is when the plane seems to reverse-glide, going up instead of down. This is a prime example of a thrust-based takeoff: short roll, steep climb, and if you're inside, being pushed into your chair. I prefer the Thrust-based planes...

Very cool! I think this climb rate is no problem for the MD-11 ;) Have you ever been to FRA? It's nice for planespotting! More than 5 great places ! And you'll see some nice MD-11 and some other great stuff (maybe some specials going to LH-Technik).

Yes with Lufthansa Cargo MD-11 and Federal Express DC-10 /MD-11

If you look closely under the right stabiliser you can see the APU exhaust (butt-hole)

Upgrade engines, use a strait stab with less 3rd engine and ugly ass set of center wheels and this plane will fly another 20 years easy
