      I always wonder what makes someones hair stops receding, is there any specific diet or just pure luck? I can only hope that my hair would stay the same as yours until I get old enough to not care about it. I'm 22 and already on Norwood 3. Been receding since 18. One can only hope.

      @Znyvi I think that's probably why. My diet and lifestyle is kinda bad. I'm a 22 college student so you know what I mean. Think I need to really start eating healthy. I know that male pattern baldness is mostly genetic but maybe somehow being on a good diet helps the hair stays longer.

    Doc, you mentioned inflammatory hair loss. I actually went to a barber about three months ago, about 40% of where he used a clipper on me had become inflamed, and those areas have been sparse ever since. It's been three months so far without regrowth. Should I still expect regrowth? Is there a time frame for these sort of things, and is there anything I can do to help myself?
    Hope it's okay to ask a question like this on here. This has been on my mind ever since it happened, and all of the dermatologists I've seen just say I look normal and turn me away without an answer.

      Did it get better? I don’t think it’s because of the barber. I think it’s that you just noticed it after the barber or the barber made it worse. I would recommend going to a hair specialist. I’m sorry I can’t answer your question any better I’m not exactly a doctor but I do have experience with hair loss although not male pattern baldness.

    • @moleholedotcom
      @moleholedotcom Před rokem +7

      If you didn't notice any inflammation prior it's possible that your barber used dirty clippers and it could be a fungal or bacterial infection. Nizoral makes a medicated shampoo available online or OTC. I'd try that as well as massaging your scalp to stimulate blow flow. The massage will help with both healing of the inflamed area and will stimulate faster hair growth. I'm presuming that the fact that the issue has occurred where clippers were used means that you're referring to the back and sides of your head which is usually not the first place that hair loss issues present if you're just suffering from male pattern baldness... It literally doesn't follow the pattern at all. I'd try a few things yourself for 3+ months as well as changing barbers and doctors. Just keep going to doctors till one will listen. If you know somethings wrong don't take no for an answer. The amount of times I've been right and got dismissed by doctors is actually concerning. It's your body if you know somethings off then you know. It's that simple.

I had an excellent result. 100% relief from discogenic spine pain that should last decades if not the rest of my life. However, there are many sloppy clinics, mostly in Germany, that market rather aggressively. We call them, "German Back Factories." Germany, of course, also has some excellent clinics. Your caveat emptor on medical tourism reminded me of this experience. On balance, medical tourism can be excellent, but one needs to think it through because there's basically no liability for these clinics and the shadier ones that make more mistakes tend to be the ones that also don't clean up their messes.

It worked but decisively decreased my sex drive. That's also perfectly fine because I had been a berserk til then. Finally could concentrate on everything else but sex. But I've noticed I'm not performing that well anymore in the sheets. And there's no hormonal reversion available at that point while testosterone only goes further down with age. For that reason I look forward to subsidize with medical testosterone at some point. Fair enough, I've heard that before. What I was wondering about was short, terse, pulls on hair bunched together in your fists 25 times. Lol... I know it sounds strange but it's something that is done in the yoga practice and is purported to increase circulation(not surprising with yoga, right?) in the scalp area, resulting in benefits in every aspect of hair health. Any thoughts?

    I feel like the only way to ever accurately judge somebody's hairline evolution/devolution is by having 2 images side by side where the hair is completely wet and combed to the back. Otherwise, there are way too many factors that influence the perception of hair density. That's why Derek's attempts at analyzing are almost pointless. If you are sporting a hairstyle with bangs and/or using hairspray and volumizing shampoo you can start your day looking like you have a lush head of hair. A few hours later, maybe after some grease or sweat built up in your hair, that impression is nearly going to take a 180 degree turn.

That picture of him at 21 backs that up as his hair seems stable. Also saying he is two years away from shaving it off is a bit of an overstatement but I guess that's his passion coming through 😂, I do enjoy Derek's videos. With regards to his dramatic hair difference, we all have good and bad "hairdays", on some it's limp and lifeless on other its like a lions mane.
