    I knew that contract would lead to greater factionalization and polarization of militancy in the Niger Delta. Sadly, these characters are fighting for their pockets, not the interests of the people.
    Tompolo is rich, Dokubo is rich and is even said to own a university in Benin Republic. Why not invest in the Niger Delta? Ateke Tom is rich, and buldozed his way to the traditional rulership of his people. Who suffers? The people.
    This is the order of exploitation in the Niger Delta:
    - Colonialists
    -Nigerian Govt
    -Local political/traditional elites
    -Militants and gang members
    The poor people are not in the equation at all.
    Instead of them to mount pressure on the govt and MNCs to invest in the human development capacity of the people of the region, they are talking about getting a share of the cake for themselves alone. Well, oil will dry off someday, then the region will be left with nothing but a devastated environment and a people lacking and unequiped with the skill sets to survive in the post-oil era.

    people in Nigeria suffering all because of greed and selfishness. With the level of oil the country has, everyone in Nigeria should be living a descent life. Very sad to see a nation with such wealth of resources, go down the pecking order all because of the greed and selfishness of their leaders.

  • @uchennanwosu4625
    @uchennanwosu4625 Před 2 lety +12

    The problem is the brazen corruption of our current political leaders. Buhari never meant well for the Niger Delta. He first tried intimidation - it failed; then he began the usual manipulation game and here we are again. If they had given licenses for modular refineries, jobs would have been created as well as massive wealth in the region. Instead they implemented policies to allow monopoly while Nigerians continue to suffer from lack of basic petroleum products and foreign exchange. The massive looting of our crude oil is government backed, and this is why it goes unabated. Only Jesus will save us. Peter Obi can clean up this mess, but the oligarchs are unrelenting. They are willing to risk the complete destruction of the country just to hold on to power.

    This is the reason why Nigerians are flocking to South Africa. But guys why don't you condem those who are doing crime in south africa because now we south Africans hate you becaus of them. And we are starting to rataliate and it won't be good for the continent. South africans are good people with love but never provoke them expecially on their home. When I grew up my parents used to tell me that a worrior defends his home till dirth and a worrior will never give his back to the enemy. That's how we are trained in Mpondoland. Pls brothers talk to your countrymans to stop selling drugs, human trafficking, fost prostitution and scamming. If you do that and you angage yourselves with people who are fighting that we will stay in peace together . And this thing of Pan africanisim it must be communicated in a good manner not using it against South Africa. We still have borders and it's laws must be respected. All African countries have borders and they are respected we can't just open our borders while yours are closed. Your leaders must work on uniting your countries and developing your economies then after you are united and your economies are in balance with South african economy we can start talking about opening of borders and one africa one nation. This thing of everyone want to rule won't take us anywhere. And let us stop racism. Racism it's racism wheather you are black or white, it doesn't choose colour of the skin. Lot of our brothers are in Europe and America and they are fighting to be accepted in those continent while they don't want the people of those continent in Africa. If we want to be respected by white or Asians, let us unit in our countries and accept any one who want to be with us. And let us discourage crime and encourage honest living where ever you live.

    Well done to the journalist, but I don't see any risk here. These guys invited arise tv because they want to air their grievances. All they need is recognition, so Arise tv is actually assisting them. Meanwhile it's quite unfortunate that able bodied men are fighting for pipe line guard while total strangers are enjoying the oil blocks. What a disgrace.😡

    AriseTv your guys are doing an awesome job. As for APC government they should give respect to who respect is due, you can't be taking people's wealth by force and expect them to be smiling for you. They should do the needful.

    It is incredible that the journalist was able to tolerate their odor. That is the most remarkable part.

    I thought in the constitution the Nigeria petroleum industrial art said 3% should be given to the host communities and also they should be responsible to protect their pipeline and the government awarded the 10,000 youth to be trained so they can protect their pipeline so why now they are awarding it to one man

    Keep guarding pipeline. It's your destiny. While strangers are enjoying the resources of your land. Selfishness and greed is a virus. These men have guns but can't liberate their land from the oppressors because of selfish interest.
