Butterfly Effect is the EXO/EXO-L song for this album. Lots of kpop/Asian groups use butterflies to symbolically represent their fans, and EXO is no exception. The first really big example for EXO (besides smaller things like the butterfly in MAMA MV intro & etc.) was their song Don't Go; its Korean & Chinese titles translate to "Butterfly Girl". So, this song is EXO saying EXO-Ls are their angels (another symbol they use often for fans) & this is the effect EXO-Ls have on them~~~
Butterfly effect is dedicated to the fans, you will notice that EXO has a lot of songs with Butterflies, angels and fairies and all of them are for the fans. We are Butterflies and Tinkerbell, Cinderella and Angels 😅 for EXO.
When this album came out Everyone Praised this album! It was everywhere! I saw it reaching top spots for album of the Year. I loved it I didn't stop playing it. I still play it a lot especially this second part of the album because the songs are just so pretty.

Baby You Are is like the sequel to Stay (from the Universe album) & gets a lot of airplay in my house. Day After Day is such a vocal flex and, yes Butterfly Effect is such a feel good song. An all around great album

You ever hear a song and you think it's so good it makes you want to tear up? Lmao Butterfly Effect is one of EXO's songs that do that to me. It's top 5 if not 3 on my EXO favorite songs. Everything about it is perfect to me 🥰
As for you wanting to hear Day After Day live. I too would love to hear that and most of the songs on this album live but unfortunately EXO has abandoned this album so far like a seeing impaired camel in a desert. Hopefully they'll start embracing more of their songs after 2018 more because many of us I-fans are ready for EXO to acknowledge 2019 to present day songs and lets let some songs from 2012-2018 rest for a bit please for the love of humanity 😵💫
Side note, you mentioned having bad weather and my town was hit with a tornado warning (luckily nothing happened) ... so not to sound creepy but do you live in NC by any chance? (Not asking about your town/city or anything like that 😬 😂)
Can't wait to see your reaction to 5th Album (Don't mess up my tempo/Love Shot), that one is an even wilder ride and honestly I think one of the best EXO albums so far. Hopefully you will do all of them in the future as each album is crazy good

Butterfly Effect...excellent choice! It was their song to EXO-L off this album (they have referred to us as butterflies and angels before in their other fansongs...like Don't Go, and Angel...) and it is such a gorgeous feel good song. Perfect way to end an album. EXO IS hard to pin down, in terms of what genre they tend to lean towards. They really do have the ability to pull off anything they are given, and it always keeps us on our toes! Generally, EXO is well known for their amazing ballads, and their killer R&B skills. They are also very well known for putting out consistent Winter Albums (at least in the past), and those are some of their BEST albums, in my opinion. I dunno. EXO's B-sides are what I love the most about them. Their title tracks are amazing, and I love them but they are there as showpieces, to slap you in the face with the choreo, the MV, and have a catchy hook. But their B-sides is where they SHINE!
Butterfly effect is one of my favourite. These angels did save me and this song will always have a special place in my heart. Like every song they dedicate to us fans. Im in my feels now 😭😭😭

Butterfly effect still my #1 fav from this album, but OBSESSION album definitely on TOP among EXO albums. EXO's ballad/acoustic songs definitely MUST PLAY & REPEAT! 🤭 EXO'S WAIT (from Love Shot album) and STRONGER (from LOTTO album) are my favs when i need cooldown, calm, chill, relax and healing (sorry for horrible english, english isnt my first language).
Everything about this album is flawless and I’ll never forgive SM for cancelling its repack!
Multilayered music and vocals are key characteristics of EXO songs and that's what makes them stand out. Of course, their 5-9 layers in music can't compare to a symphonic orchestra, but still very uncommon these days. That's why I as a an opera lover stan only EXO, the best on all levels ❤ btw, Kai+Baekhyun and Chen+Sehun are my favorite vocal combinations

Butterfly Effect and Day By Day are my favorites, then Groove. For some reason I never could get into Baby You Are, that one I always skip (sorry guys)
But props to the 6 for doing an album, title song, mv, live stages, and full on concerts with only six while D.O. and Xiumin were in military.
When they went for the concept of good Exo vs. X-Exo, it was an absolute rage to see the evil Exo made up the way they were. Following the concept of The Red Force sending clones of each member to influence Exo with bad temptations that we all battle, it was so well received because of the make-up and outfits evil Exo brought, to fight Good Exo who were in the black revolutionary outfits in Obsession. That's why there's 2 live stages for each outfit. I can only imagine what X-D.O. and X-Xiumin would have looked like dressed up as evil clones. Omg.
But the Repackaged "Don't Mess Up My Tempo" album, Repackaged "Lotto" album, and "Universe" albums are still my favorites...the first 2 because of the songs they added on later.
