Information is good but not accurate as an Avs fan.
You say he finished 2nd in Calder voting then say he won the Calder Trophy??? This doesn't make sense. He finished first with 130 first-place votes.
I don't think his contract extension back in 2016 for the AAV of $6.3M would be considered at the top during that year. He wouldn't even be in the top 50 paid players that year. I would say he signed that based on his just above average play the few years leading up to it, I think he commented on this on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast. The Avs were garbage during these years. This extension would look like an absolute bargain once he found his true game which boosted the team to being where they're at now.
And saying that he won the Conn Smythe Trophy was hilarious as Makar was an absolute monster that playoff run. Not sure how you could confuse that.
