    Great video. I’m between the cm22 and the cm28
    The cm22 has some more features than cm28 but 28 seems more ideal for quick content and bang for you buck overall.

      You might be right. Plus it has internal recording option ...

    I bought them both because of there different options and I bought the lark1 set by hollyland ,, I primarily conduct interviews and these mics have been great the connections are very strong and sound quality is excellent they have never let me down.

      Thanks so much for your feedback. I never got to test the lark one ... But I am curious did you never have the DJI mic 2 in mind? czcams.com/video/13ijYwvdn7A/video.htmlsi=Nnl_DIhpvkrBl4kU by the way thanks so much for subscribing!

      After doing my research and watching a ton of channels such as your own I decided to go with a lower cost brand because they’re just as reliable and sound good, I was able to purchase 2 separate sets for the price of one set of the DJI brand. I was able to get a set and a backup.. so no I actually never considered them or Rode as an option.. people must understand yeah those brands have good quality but there are less popular brands that are just as good and if you never give them a chance it only allows the name brand to price gouge do to lack of competition

    Very interesting! Thank you for pointing me to this video from the German original. What I've learned is that the built-in DSP noise reduction is TERRIBLE!

      Thanks for your feedback I appreciate that very much. I can tell you it is a really time consuming hobby, but in the end might be useful for some folks! By the way, a detailed review of the microphones of insta 360 X4, Ace Pro vs DJI Mic 2 coming soon. Best wishes!

    Just ordered the CM28 for Prime Day and this video was the most helpful because you really exercised the range of it! My current mic gets too staticky even if I'm not far from it.
    But the range is exactly what i wanted it for! I almost forgot you were even on camera 😅.

    • @S-LAB-TV
      @S-LAB-TV  Před 5 dny +1

      🤣 yes of course this is pretty much possible that you lost me in between, since I was quite far away out in the fields ... (Please note, the range between cm22 and 28 was pretty similar, just keep in mind to always use internal Backup inside the cm28 for future recordings!!) The internal audio is being recorded very low to avoid any clipping, but you can boost the audio in post production with no problem whatsoever...

      @@S-LAB-TV appreciate the input! If I can ask you a question, I got my CM28 and used it this past weekend, however, I'm still experiencing the audio static from a distance even shorter than how far you were. Any ideas? Could it be the settings on the receiver? If it helps, I'm using my Sony ZV-1F vlog camera to film.

      @@thegrindtopar with wireless mics there might always be some interferences. Please note, when I was very far away I was most of the time using the internal recording function of the CM28! Internal recording is still the safest way, to record your audio. You can not modify nor intensify the wireless Audio settings as far as my knowledge goes. Please try to always use internal recording, at least as a safety backup!!!

      @@S-LAB ahhh I'll keep that in mind! Thank you! I don't know if it makes any difference, but I was playing around with the mic and changed the settings in the receiver and it seemed to help. Increased the dB level and changed from stereo to mono.

    Very well done comparison. I would like to know your audio processing workflow; EQ & compression and what program you use. I believe that video will definitely be worth watching.

    • @S-LAB-TV
      @S-LAB-TV  Před měsícem

      Thank you so much for you feedback! But honestly: you might be surprised I almost never use EQ & compression in my videos, instead I prefer to simply normalize my audio levels. Of course, as you might have guessed already: in this comparison here, there is no EQ, nor any kind of compression applied (in order to provide the most objective reference to you!). But also, as mentioned above in most of my other videos I simply normalize the audio-footage. From time to time I add a decent soft compression ...

    I can't figure out how to switch my CM22 to stereo mode and have looked online for a manual and can't find one anywhere.

    • @S-LAB
      @S-LAB Před 16 dny +2

      Just press the "DB" and "EXF'" button on the receiver parallel, at the same time, to switch between Mono-, Stereo- and safety track-mode

      Hehe, thanks for the interesting question, I wanted hand over the answer to you... Let me put it like this:
      - if you like the dry and warmish sound of the Lark Mark II then go for it! it is an easy to use, compact piece of hardware but please note: as I tried to explain the units are very small so you need sophisticated hands while using it, its dry and warm sound to my ears appears to be the most "artificial" & of course no internal recording ...
      - if you prefer a more detailed picture of your voice, including the surroundings with precise heights, mids and lows and if you don't mind a certain amount of hissing noise, which at the same time requires, but also offers you more possibilities for treatment during post-production, then go for the cm22. Don't forget about "the one and only" Eco effect of the cm22 ... By the way this is the most accessible construction with decent buttons and also: lavalier mics included. No internal recording again!
      - the CM 28 offers out of this 3 the great additional advantage of internal recording whilst streaming your audio events to a camera or audio recorder. So if you need a security back up: there you go. At shorter distances I didn't encounter any problems with any of these with the transmission but you never know. In case you are working with camera operators they could anyway always monitor the sound ...
      In the end I want to make clear: with none of these microphones (and also none of any other microphone I ever tested) it is really just record and done. In all of the cases some post-production fine tuning is needed. In this video I didn't use additional equalizers, compressors and so on, to give you the most objective feedback, but still: loudness adjustments (normalizing) was necessary was necessary in order to compare the three units.

      @@user-xz4hq1xv2e interesting I do like the benefits of the internal recording, but I do prefer the convenience and light weight lark 2
      If u could only pick one for everyday what do you enjoy using the most?
      Thanks so much,
      And love from Canada !

      I think you have given the answer already to yourself, you like the form factor of the Lark Mark II and as long as you are fine with the somehow artificial profile ....
      Sending best wishes and love back to CA ...
