I was sure that A was DJI and how happy I was when it turned out to be Ulanzi. Already ordered, waiting
Which one did you like the sound of better?
Yep. I thought the DJI was A, and I thought it sounded better. Huh. That surprised me, in a good way.
Update how is it ??
SAME!! I WAS THINIKING A IS DJI!!
NO WAY THAT IS THE CONCLUSION !!!!! , I always thought the mic A was DJI from the beginning , and dont want to doubt that it way better than the Ulanzi, but the result was so unreal , the sound quality of Ulanzi am18 is so decent ! and maybe i'll buy the Ulanzi am 18 asap , Thanks for the review 😊
I have the Ulanzi AM-18 and I love it. Thanks for the vid.
Wonderful! Thanks for watching!
Would it be good for mic'd up sports videos?
Hey Patrick, can you please make a comparison video between the Ulanzi AM18 versus the Neewer CM28? Thanks!
Great job! Ulanzi is impressive for the money for sure! Love the DJI system.
Completely agree, Paul!
GREAT VIDEO. THNKS!!
You're welcome!
This video is amazing! Thank u so much! Cheers from South America!
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Something is really wrong with Mic B`s quality. It sounds like it`s heavily compressed or like it`s having some sort of bad noise reduction turned on. There`re no such problems with these mics in other reviews. Are you sure you didn`t mess up the settings?
Didn’t make one change, but I completely agree with you. They normally sound better! Thanks for watching and commenting.
I’ve got several of those mics different brands and I picked up the a.m. 18 ulanzi microphone for $79 day one first day I sent it on Amazon it peaked my interest , and comparing the DJI to it was so close sometimes I would prefer the 16 bit sound over the 24bit it can have a more natural warm sound people think they need a 32 bit float microphone system and they just don’t know how good 16 bit really is, also they can actually pick up way further than they listed the distance away, and I finally don’t clip out even with obstruction in the way
It's a great mic for the price. I am so glad that it is working for you. Thanks for watching.
Great review! Subbed to your channel! I thought Mic A was better - it picked up more when you talked enthusiastically, while MIC B sounded flatter then. I am listening on decent studio headphones/DAC. Of course can process them on the EQ etc and some people have different preferences. I am looking at the Mailada X5 - which I heard is exactly the same as the CM28 but can sometimes get cheaper.
I thought A was better
For this video, SAME!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great review but I did find it a little distracting having music while I was trying to hear the difference between the two mics.
Thank you so much for your feedback, and thanks for watching. I find the music soothing and engaging, but I understand how it can get in the way at times.
Usually I really like the vibe that music creates it was just because I was considering buying one of these and I was really focused on the sound of the mic. But still helpful video!! Thanks!@@iampatrickmurphy
Great video and delivery. Just a suggestion, I think your shot would look much better if you moved your desk over so that cinder block wall isn't in the shot. That or you could put some material over it to make the wall look like something else. Like a fern wall or something.
This is a GREAT suggestion.
However, I share an office, so
I don’t have the luxury. lol.
Thanks bro
Thank you! I am so glad that you found this video helpful. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I have got a lot of Wireless units inc Rode / DJI 2 / Hohem and Comica and man are they expensive but I Just ordered the AM-18's for $70 as they sound like a bargain and I plan to use these for everyday use ( Ruff and Ready Shoot's E.t.c) and keep the others for weddings etc. Just waiting for them to be delivered now....... Great video comparison Patrick
I think that is such a good call. Having a run and gun system that don’t break the bank is so clutch!!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Can I ask for your experience update after 3 months?
Planning to get one myself
@@dingleberry1242 Of course you can - anything if I can help, Sound quality is Fair for the price . I like them, they are a bit bulkier than the DJI but then they are half the price..... Do I recommend them Damn straight for a budget wireless system you can not go far wrong with the AM-18's just stay within line of sight and your golden ..... if there's anything else you need, just ask.
@@markockwell How is the experience using it so far?
Is the on-board recording usable and how does it compare to more pricier mics you have to see if it's worth buying this or go straight for those
I thought the A was better
Last week it was $69
I thought both are 24 bit output based on Amazon website.
Interesting, I thought the Ulanzi sounded better, less muffled than the DJI, though it was hard to tell at times.
The real question is what mic did you use for this video? Is it the podcast mic you listed in the description?
GREAT question.
One thing to keep in mind is that I intentionally used unprocessed audio from the DJI Mic and the Ulanzi Mic.
Normally, I would take the time to edit the audio that these microphones capture, but I wanted everyone to hear them in their raw state.
The other mic I’m using in this video is a Sennheiser shotgun microphone.
Your video is an everlasting wellspring of motivation! - "Each setback conceals a valuable lesson waiting to be learned."
Hello Patrick. Their listing on Amazon said 48 kHz/24 Bit so I had ordered it today but after watching you say 16bit, I noticed they only mention the 24bit when referencing the 8GB internal recording. Bummer that they show the higher 24 Bit so large in the add and then only say the 16Bit transmit in the manual.
Oh that stinks! I am glad you got what you wanted though. New gear Day!!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
no way the mic A is the Ulanzi, just bought it.
LOVE it!
plz advise how it performs in noisy environment like in a party coz DJI performs very well..
I would say, and this is only my opinion of course, that the Ulanzi performs just as well as the DJI mic when it comes to noisy environments.
Thank you for watching and commenting!
I preferred mic a
Does anyone know if the am18 will work with insta x3
It has a line out, and it can totally work with the x3.
Does it work with iphone 15 pro max
ABSOLUTELY! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Whats funny is, theyre just audio recorders. So it doesnt matter what they sound like. lol. 16 bit recording is.... OOF. But, you can buy and break 3 for the cost of one DJI. If ima spend nearly 300 bucks on a wireless kit, Ima buy a radio mic not one of these.
You’re not wrong!
Thanks for watching and commenting.
A sounded just a tiny bit clearer...
INTERESTING! Thanks for watching.
The A is better
I AGREE in tbis video, however, the DJI sells it for me because of all the professional features that it includes.
Mike B just sounds muffled compared to mike B.
I agree. Thanks so much for wtching!
Really sure about that? I thought A was dji
HAHA. I knows! me too. Thanks for watching!
Both sound bad.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
One thing to keep in mind is that I intentionally used unprocessed audio from both microphones. Normally, I would edit the audio, but I wanted everyone to hear the microphones in their raw state.
@@iampatrickmurphy wish you good luck.
