- High heels don't have to be a pain. With a few simple dancers' exercises, you can strengthen your feet and ankles to handle standing, posing, and walking in any type of heel, including stilettos, pumps, or platform sandals. Practice these 3 exercises to naturally enhance your muscle memory, tone your legs, and realize that walking in heels can be easier than you could have ever imagined.

Before lockdown I could walk miles in high heels without a problem. Last week I put a heal on for work first time. Man, I barely survived the day. 😩
Omg same Melinda, it’s crazy how fast our leg muscles lose the memory of walking in heels haha
Same!!!!! 😅
During school times I somehow managed to walk in heels well and I did last autumn quite well too but since this year heels don't really like me anymore.
Honestly same. My mom always bought me school shoes with heels and even my everyday sandals were in heels so I was more comfortable wearing heels than flats. Now I have to look up videos like this to relearn how
i thought it was the heels! then bought a new pair same issue! couldn't last 15mins 😂
Wow! It actually works. I tried the exercises and now l can walk in heels perfectly with feeling pain.
Well done Candice! Kudos for putting in the work!
for how long did you do it?
how long did you do it for? i need to walk in 6 inch heels in a week😅
update, doing this for a week absolutely works. i’m 5’8 183 pounds and haven’t worked out in 2 years, i can attest.
@@sebrya8019 the update is very appreciated.
Never thought of this. All my school age and college I danced (ballet, modern, hip hop) like 5-6 days a week. So I did these things naturally and heels never gave me any issue. As I’ve gotten older and dance less, heels hurt after 2-3 hours. I need to get back to my roots. Thank you for this.
I bet you still have it in you Danielle! Once a dancer, always a dancer. Muscle memory is pretty powerful
Same!! I don’t have a problem balancing in them, but as an adult I wondered why I started having more pain - it’s because I danced, did music productions, & wore heels constantly in my teens, and then I stopped for years 😅. I recently started back up again and I’m having an easier time in heels again! This was a super helpful video!
Same
@@melodyspradley4221 what heel highit can u wear now
thank you!! my feet get tired just from wearing heels for a few hours 😪😪
My feet get tired from wearing high heels after 5 mins 😭😭😩 !!
Same problem my feet get tired after few minutes 😂😂😂
me too! I'm tired walking in heels
@@StarGalaxis try wearing at home for a week or two
I have graduation picture day in a week and so far I can’t wear heels any longer than 3 mins 🥲
Just the video I’ve been looking for. This makes a lot of sense. I like the fact you mentioned to walk on the balls of your feet because it’s a struggle to walk heel to toe for me. It’s to much pressure to think about it then walk it.
Whirlagirl11208 thanks so much for watching! You got this ✊🏼
In my gymnastics days, we did calf raises (straight, out, in) and then this exercise wherewe raised our toes up towards the ceiling(staying on our heels). That one and the toes in exercise always had me looking crazy, but they worked very well.
Hey, if this exercise is helpful for you, feel free to make your own video about it. We learned it in gymnastics and I was getting more strengthening in my ankles than the calf raises, which was sooo helpful for my double jointed self...
czcams.com/video/e7qgaD7XAWA/video.html
yet she walks heel to toe like you should.
@@ZebraJenn I did that in gymnastics also. I needed all the strength and stretch when competing.
Listen, THIS WORKED!!!!
I watched your video last night and did only 5 minutes of foot work each and now I am ABLE to walk in all the heels I bought that I was struggling with!😩✨ Thank you soooo much!!
Only 1 day of foot work imagine if I do this for a week or months!!!
This video is a foot saver-
Lemonade 💕👋
Beautiful. I've forgotten how to walk in heels because I haven't walked in a pair for about 15 years! But I'm hoping these exercises will help. Thank you Crystal, this was beautifully explained.
What an interesting idea to approach walking in heels like a sports routine! I will definitely try this!
These tips are super helpful!💙 Walking in high heels gracefully and without hurting your legs and feet is a skill one must work on.
Excellent advice from a dancer. My dance teacher has been drilling me a lot with the calf raises and actually i noticed that the beginners heels that i was using for dancing, are now too low for me. I need to get a higher heel.
Wonderful! It means your calves have gotten very strong! Keep going 💪
I really appreciate this. The first two videos I watched on CZcams, was solely individuals walking in different with shoes to practice. I'm sure they just wanted to be seen and show off their feet in shoes ... lol. I learned nothing. The reason I can't keep my shoes on for 2 minutes are exactly the areas you are telling us to exercise. You're one cool chick! Tell your mom those classes are having a lasting effect on us all. Thanks!
Hi C_Nicole_R 👋🏻 Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I really appreciate you taking the time to mention that my video was more helpful. I have done the same thing as you, searching online... and I typically like videos that go straight to the point my tips hehe.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE these tips. Now, when I was in middle school I tried out modeling. Although, I did quick research on how to SAFELY walking in wedges and continued wearing them into my early high school years I WISH I had known these exercises and stretches I could’ve done the whole trip in the car down to Orlando. I wouldn’t see results right away but at least my muscles would have been warmed up and loose for it same goes for waking up early in the morning and rushing to get things on and put together for school. My muscles were sore but it got better each week when I kept wearing the heels anyways (taking breaks of course). But SUPER helpful to have known it then. Better late than never.
Thanks so much for watching the video Jazzi and for your thoughtful comment. You sound like a resourceful and motivated person - exactly the type of viewer I really appreciate.
jazzi what highit heels do u use pls
I just got a killer set of heels from a fan, but I'm so bad at walking in them. I will definitely work on this. Thanks for a concise and easy to follow video! 💖
Can’t wait to try. This video is so comprehensive. Thank you!
Wonderful advice! Going to try them all. Hoping this 52 year old isn’t too old to train her feet! 🙏🏼😊
Love your confidence... 💕
short, sweet, and so helpful. Thank you!
THIS IS AMAZING, it worked almost instantly. Going from heel toe to walking on the balls of your feet is a game changer.
Sashini woot! Glad it was helpful! Yay!
I've seen others say 'heel toe... like you always do...' & I think, ha!! Awful advice...esp for beginners. It's all about the ball! Lol. If you're wearing a 6 in stiletto & you try and put your weight down on that tiny heel... you'll be lucky if you only break the heel and not your ankle as well. The advice is excellent... as someone who lives in heels I can def say it's much less about the shoes & much more about calf & ankle strength because the shoe isn't keeping you stable... your muscles are. Most people blame the shoes but honestly they're rarely the issue. If everything is strong and flexible... any shoe will do fine.
One of the most helpful videos on the internet. Thank you 😊
This is just what I was looking for! I danced for 7 years as a pre-teen/teenager and had no problems with the few heels I tried on then. Now at 28, my muscle tone has... faded somewhat, ha. But my love for heels and platforms has only grown. Showing me what it looks like to walk in heels and telling me to practice means nothing and hurts! Showing us to strengthen our legs and feet to be more comfortable and safe? All the difference! I'm excited to build that tone and flexibility back up and start rocking these heels I've got laying around, just waiting to be enjoyed!
28 is still young - you got this! Just work your way up and you’ll get there!
Your teaching on walking in heels are the best
Omg I used to be in dance classes too as a little girl and using these tips are so helpful. I feel more confident and in control.
Thank you for telling me, no one ever shared this with me growing up. I am seding my daughter to ballet school now!! Thanks to this video
I need to start doing these again! That 3rd tip is really good! 👌🏾
Aw thanks Connie! BTW love your gorgeous profile pic!
OMG!!!!! This was a godsend! I’m a chef and tore my ligaments in my ankle when I rolled it and I haven’t worn heels in a decade bc of the spasms from trying! I couldn’t figure out how to get back to my heels until now I think your video was way more comprehensive than others! I’m going to try this since I work from home now so I can get ready for holiday parties and dates in heels!!!!! 😍😍😍🙌🏽♥️
Hi Falan - thank you so much for circling back and leaving this kind and thoughtful comment. Definitely work your way up to heels with patience because after an injury like that, you want to habituate your muscles and ligaments slowly and not shock them. Good luck and sending you lots of good energy 😍
My pleasure I will check in on my progress later this fall. I do sincerely appreciate this video!
@@TheFalanBlake Hi! Any update? :)
@@elvenprincess584 Yessss today i wore 4 inch heels and had a photoshoot. Pics will be posted tuesday on my instagram Ask.Falan and big shout out to Crystal xoxo
This is what I was looking for thank you so much! Xxx
Haven’t tried any of these yet. But will give a feedback soon. It’s completely logical and technical as well. So I already know it’s gonna work like a magic
My pageant is in one week and here I am frantically trying at the last minute 😅
Any prep is better than no prep, even if it’s last minute! Good luck 😀
How did it go ...
I recently got a job in retail, and boy have I been standing in heels a lot. I could normally get through conferences for a few days in heels no problem, but for weeks on end, my feet have started to really hurt. Gonna try these to see if I can improve my stamina!
Yui, it may be worth looking into a different pair of heels if your feet haven’t gotten used to the pair you’re currently wearing, or if the shoe hasn’t broken in and still feels painful. A brand or style that is comfortable for one person may not be comfortable for you, and vice versa. Our feet are all unique shapes and sizes so the best way to find out what works for you is to try different brands, heights, materials, etc. I know it’s not cheap and could be a lifelong journey but when you find the right brand that works for you, you’ll be much more comfy standing in heels.
She makes it look so easy!!
Best video I have ever seen! Many thanks 🥰
Thank you for your honesty and help to make woman’s leg look beautiful and able to how to walk on heals ❤️
Love it! Thx so much for this Tipps - They're gold!
I can easily walk in heels with platforms but struggle in regular stilettos. This was a great instructional video.
I had no idea one could improve the heels experience. Thanks!!
Im a complete beginner with walking in heels. That day I was trying on my new heeled boots and I tried to walk heel toe but it was a fail. Then I tried to walk with balls of my foot and soon felt comfortable. This actually works, gives more stability and less pain
Oh my goodness, thanks so,so much for this video... Heels has always been my problem.... And I loved it when I see my friends on it ... I always feel bad because I couldn't... But now with the help of this video... 👠 I'm gonna work on you... Once again, thanks for the video 🥰🥰
I have worn heels all my life! Stilettos! I am 71yrs. Old. But since our church has been closed & I retired from the office...I lost that touch. This will help get me back.I still walk 3 days a week. Thanks 4 tips.
Carol, good for you! You’re inspiring!
Thank you to Crystal...U have inspired me even more. Today I walked around my house for about doing odd jobs for about 15 min.
Came out good & that was quite enough. Not to overdo thank you.
@@carollane5376 what the highit of ur heels
Thank you so much for this!!!! I'm trying to train myself to wear very high heeled boots for a cosplay that I'm doing and im not too well at walking in very high heels above 5 inches. Hope these tips will help me prep for this cosplay, thanks again!
You're so welcome dear! I admire cosplay and all the dedication it requires. Have a GREAT time! Try to get heels with a platform, I find those more comfortable :)
I'm eager to try these! A couple of years ago I sprained my ankle severely, and since I've been in flats. I'm not even 5' tall, and I miss seeing the world from the height I get in heels! I've noticed as I've aged there's less fat on my sole too, making everything more painful. I'll try to come back after I've done these exercises and say how they went!
Thank you for this. It’s been a while since wearing them and I love heels 😫.
I do too! You're so welcome Jeneé (BTW I adore your gorgeous name.)
Me too
huh...im actually pleasantly surprised. growing up a ballet dancer, i do these exercises a lot as a warm up and eventually they became a bit of a thing I do before a performance like a nervous tick.
glad its useful for this!
Awesome! I see how it pans out 😊
Excellent tips. Thank you for sharing. Yes your video was very helpful.
Thanks for watching Mercy :)
Surprisingly this video is very helpful!
I am 28 years old and I have been battling with heels my entire life. My ankle gets unbearably painful and I just struggle with balance once I'm on a heel. Thank you for this video. This is very insightful and I'm optimistic about the results. Xo
I love CZcams. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
Love her!!! I’m up to 15 min in heels comfortably! As a chef I tore the ligament rolling the ankle in the kitchen. Snapped like an asparagus stalk! I babied it for years and now that I’m retired I want to wear heels long term! Biggest issue is public service levels. Walking across grass, gravel, rocks, walking off a step into the street. I need tips for walking into the worlds elements now! Safely. Lol
When I was younger I used to wear heals all the time and my legs were very nicely toned fast forward to today I rarely wear heals and my legs aren’t toned like they used to be 🤓I will definitely try these exercises thank you so much 😃💜🙏🏼
This is much helpful than other videos/tips 😃
Thanks for your feedback and for watching 🥰
Best video ever 👏 thank you
Hi! I'd been looking for a video like this one but this is simply the best! Thank you!
Thanks for the positive feedback Saraí! Lovely name, by the way!

This video was very helpful, thank you 🤗
Thank you for the tips!! I'm going to probe them!!
Ahhhh… it make sense… and super helpful… thanks for the tips
It will definitely help.
Thank you so much
AMAZING!!! Thank you
This explains why I used to walk in heels all day with no issues. I took years of dance as a child. Once I left corporate I started wearing bootd and sneakers. Now after 15 years I really want to get back in heels. Im going to try all of this. Wish me luck!
Thank you. I’m a former dancer/choreographer. My mom had me in heels all through high school. I wore them everyday everywhere. Now I’m 51 and can’t do it anymore. I had 5 back surgeries so I haven’t strengthened anything. I’ll work on this. Thanks again.
Shannon, your mom sounds fun! Did you ever have an issue with heels every day?
I bet you always looked good
Thank you so much queen🥰😘😘😘♥️♥️♥️I will try these from Today
Awesome!! Thank you! Wish I had looked for this a month ago as my special event is only 7 days from today but I’ll do these every day until then!! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the nice comment, good luck! You can do it 💪🏼
Did it work?
@@d.j.7209 oh cool! I glad it helped 😊 i ll try it out
🥰you taught me so much , thank you for making my life much more easier , love you sooo much
Omg exactly what I was looking for. I knew some ballet stuff could help with walking in heels
Extremely helpful ~Thank you !!
Excellent video! Thank you
you're a godsend, thank you so much!!!!!
To me most of the difficulty comes from shoes that are not stably attached around the foot (for example sandals with only two straps holding them on the foot) and the points of friction directly on the skin. Also very narrow shoes hurt a lot. Very thin soles hurt too but that is something that is easily fixable. The easiest shoe with heel to walk in is boots with a thick sole.
Any sole cushion definitely helps
Great information... Thanks a lot ♥️
Thank you for the nice tips ❤
This is a great video ! Good & useful tips ! I just bought Myself a pair of heels ! They are a 7 inch . Although I wouldn’t wear them outside the house !

Tq,this is very educational and helpful
In childhood my sister and I we danced ballet every week. We love this dance. We are still dancing. Those dresses, those cute ballet shoes. Ballet is sweet and very girly and we love it. We always dance together. We are very close to each other and after a long run, playing football, It's nice to do something girly for a change. And ballet exercises are so good as well. And also walking in high heels is easy but you need to practice first.
Playing football? Ballet?! Whoa. You and your sister are so COOL!!
@@CrystalClues Thanks darling 💙💙💙. We both do a lot awesome things.

Thanks Jay Noona! Appreciate you watching and leaving your feedback. Let me know how it goes!
This is really helpfull👌
Thank you sooo much, I truly found this soooo helpful 👍🤗
This makes soooo much more SENSE to me. I've watched tons of how to walk in heels and I have NEVER seen one with exercises. I have heels but I don't wear them because I look like a hot mess. I will be doing this combined with the other videos I've seen & then I'll surprise my husband as he's only seen me in HIGH heels once. Wedges occasionally. I look like I'm walking on glass...lol all clumpy & humped over hahaha when I last wore heels & this was at a Funeral. Everyone noticed & I was trying to get to my bag with my flat shoes. People were stopping me asking me before I could change shoes am I ok or are your feet hurting? Some flat out laughed & said take those heels off...hahahaha. Anyways, yea I was all messed up. I'm going to do this and practice walking and walking up n down stairs. Thanks for sharing. I loved this...Take care
LOL your story literally made me laugh out loud. I love your energy. Good luck and thanks for stopping by my channel! I bet you could work those heels with some practice🔥
