From the very beginning I considered Twitter (and Facebook) to be a waste of my time. The presumption that everyone cares about what someone tweets is preposterous. Twitter is like a dumb neighbor that you put up a privacy fence to ignore. Maybe actually a concrete privacy wall that is 20 inches thick.

On CZcams comments usually refer to video content already uploaded. One other thing FYI: I have 657 subscribers. Looks like you have all of ONE. Hmmm... that says a lot.

i always love it when MSM bring on an 'expert' to talk about things they aren't expert in. lol. the 'security expert' talking about how twitter isn't being run probably to make it successful. the guy literally knows nothing about turning around a business. 100% he's been an 'employee' his entire life.
i also suspect Kara will be apologising to Musk in 6 months to a year once she finally gets what musk is doing to twitter and the importance of it to our society. a summary would be; if there's only one place for truth, twitter, the other social media companies will have to follow suit or lose money. it's as simple as that.
in terms of moderation the idea of keeping free speech but not allowing a..holes to reach others is a good compromise from musk. no doubt it'll need tweaking but it's a reasonable idea.

6 months to a year twitter will be a very different space. if he's successful it will force the other to allow truth on their platform too so we can't have a covid situation again where anything but the establishment narrative was shut down.

This is so true, years ago in my grad level python class taught at Berkeley the topic of "Why is twitter stock worth $XX" came up a few times...even then we knew twitter was not worth anything and joke for anyone who was serious about their career. What you have are people who feel entitled because they went to an Elite University that they can work a job that uses a fraction of what they learned, that they don't need to grow, believe that their opinion matters over the bottom line and have a no pressure culture while getting salaries that reflect the top 10% of the nation. Of course it is easy to be sympathetic to communism and socialist attitudes and say everyone is the same to hide the fact that they are elitists. Elon should share the salaries of employees via classification, I don't think many people will be sympathetic to folks making $300K-$500K total compensation packages working 9-5, WFH in the pre-elon era badmouthing the changes.

Advertisers like content that is moderated. So why would you sell anything on Amazon? The most unmoderated marketplace I have ever seen. Less that CZcams, less than WalMarts 3rd party seller platform, and less than Facebook. Amazon is equally if not less moderated than Twitter.

Even prior to the buy, Musk made it clear that influence was his intention; but how to profit from a social media platform that has never made a real profit should have been his horse-sense priority as a business person (if he has any), & I don't honestly see that as much as I see a big financial disaster in the making!
