turns out having 10 mana on turn 4 is actually quite good.
Turns out cheating out the entire deck on 5 is fair
I can't count the number of times when I was trying to finetune a Reno Druid deck I was making that I managed to Twigsphere into something from my top end like Neptulon or Denathrius.
As it turns out, the answer to "but what is a Demon Hunter actually going to do about a 10/10 with Lifesteal that goes face for 5 damage on turn 4" is one word.
"Die."
The only class that has half a chance that I've seen of surviving instaramp Druid is Priest, they're pretty much the only class that has cheap enough options for clearing and healing to survive to the late game, and even then, if it's not specifically control Priest, they probably die anyway.

So, this guy ran out of cards because they were all one mana and takes 1 fatigue damage, precedes to swap decks with me. The swap deck card card has a weakness of course, it gives the victim their own swap deck card to get their deck back. This trashcan has multiple "discover an opponents card and swap it with yours" and steals my swap deck card that I would've used my next turn to get my deck back and precedes to use my death knight deck to kill me whilst having 15 mana per round with my deck and plenty of 0 cost growth and, other manacheats. Goofy.

To be fair Rarran has pretty often played wild. A lot of his 'expansion challenges' are done in wild for instance.

There would have to be an ogre set and I honestly can't think of an excuse for one. Maybe someone can drop some ogre lore in here.

@@TheZombinator115 When Mechathun dies, you win the game if you have no cards in hand, deck , and no creatures in the field. Rarran used Griftah wich lets you discover a card and give your oponent a copy of it. He gave Azalina, whose battlecry gives you cards to your hand. So the enemy had no way of activating his Mechathun, because if he used the last card in his hand (Azalina), he would gain a bunch of other cards, negating Mechathuns condition.
@@TheZombinator115 the Mecha'thun win condition requires you to have no hand, deck or board. Azalina replaces your hand with your opponents so the opponent cant play Azalina (or theyd lose Mecha'thun) BUT also has to play it to remove it from hand to fulfill the win condition. Playing Mecha'thun first (like the opponent did in the video) was pretty much the only option but impossible to get rid of all the cards before Mechathun or the Hero is destroyed

You have to submit that Griftah clip to Trolden, that's absolute peak hs right there. The type of content I watch HS for.
That Griftah play was actually incredible. It's almost as incredible as the Disguised Toast Yogg Mechathun Wombo Combo you recently reviewed. It was very clear that you didn't actually realize Azalina was gonna mega-screw him until after you picked it and that's the only thing that makes it less incredible than the Toast called shot on Cataclysm.

@@Kaxxaa Oh absolutely it is. But generally speaking it's easier for people to get into the series via the anime unless they are already avid manga/manhwa/webtoon readers - or at least comic readers.
It's funny how close the instrument tech is to MTG's stoneforge mystic.
2 mana for a 1/2 that finds a weapon. At least instrument tech doesn't have an ability to play any weapon in your hand for 2 mana at any time.

The rotation is alway between druid, warlock or rogue when it happen to other class they are quite fast to nerf it.
Druid is either trash or gamebreaking in wild. I’ve never seen it just be ok

Well, they still haven't fixed that bug where hearing neptulon's sound effect causes my fingers to press alt f4. It's started to spread recently. Now it happens against turn 3 druid or rogue otk, too.

The worst thing about this is now every other deck is completely unviable apart from hyper aggro.
It's actually pretty funny how the instrument tech is kind of useless in a way because I have never in my life seen any druid not Slam twig Turn 4 into turn 5 guff.
Kind of the reason why wild is literally unplayable. "Hey pretty cool deck you got there, oh it doesn't kill your opponent by turn 6? Too bad, he now has 200 Armor and 20 mana while you have 7. GG, nice attempt."

Honestly in wild I was destroying druids with my evolve shaman, even after they get to 20 mana on turn 5. I think that's because poison seeds doesn't really hurt me, I just evolve the treants into something good again :D
not played hearthstone in a while. When did the mana cap go up from 10 to 20? Is that a druid only thing or is it from somewhere else.

instrument tech also triggers kingsbane even more, which is the last thing they needed
i haven't even seen too many twigs in high diamond, just a lot of kingsbane and big priest, and with the amount of draw kingsbane has its impossible not to hit either the weapon or the weapon draw
May be a dust cost factor tbh . druid needs at least 3 legendaries to play the tech . Even if you ignore any kind of real win con.
All druids are legend already, and all top 1000 is just druids. I was facing only druids on dia2 - legend and a little amount on dia5 -dia3.

Typically anything plat/diamond or below is just filled with people playing their fun/pet decks or casual players that don't want to constantly replace their standard cards for the new year. I am planning on just playing hyper aggro when I hit diamond . can't beat me on 5 mana with druid if they're dead lol . both druid and big priest suffer from just not doing anything uber early so smorc tends to be what i go for in higher ranks. For now tho i am just having fun with silly combo decks in plat.
@@soraneptune4178 sad part is that druid have a ways to win against early aggression, he can kill 2 minions on turn 1 with rake, just 1 mana to kill 2 minions, and then he just getting stupid amount of armor on turn 3 and 4, and if you don't kill him before turn 5 its just a lise for you in most cases. I lost to them some times even when I had 10 attack Kingsbane on turn 4. Thats how crazy they are. One druid killed me with fatigue on turn 6! He just drawed all his deck, then played Tony on that turn and just naturalised me, I had 35 health and I just died. Druids are insane even against aggro decks.
@@impkiller5932 yeah of course is not the perfect solution . But well you play to your outs. Is like when naga lock/hunter was a thing. Yes is stupid , yes you're coping with aggro . But well is better than playing a slower deck and losing Every game lol . Or like when the star align druid was a thing. You just have to cope tbh . aggro just seems to be the most consistent answer even if it's like not amazing. rather aggro and win some of the time than to play control or combo and just lose every game on turn 5/6 lol .

Damn.. I haven't played HS for years.. I used to run ramp druid because it wasn't super consistent or great, but when it worked it was funny.. Now it became a potential instant concede-type deck...

the majority of druids in wild that i see don’t even use the weapon and just draw their entire deck using gadgzetan auctioneer and some otk combination.
As someone who attempted to ride this wave, the deck is considerably less powerful when you don't draw Guff every game.

You know, I didn’t realize how broken weapon draw on Druid is until this vid. I knew Druid in Wild was OP But I didn’t know the extent of how powerful it is with weapon draw.
The moment I saw the weapon card draw I knew something was going to break hearthstone.
I don’t even play Hearthstone, however, this strat was so OP I felt inclined to watch
Two Innervates, one Jade Blossom, one Wild Growth, one Nourish, the guy's got a full fucking hand, zero drawback, he is SIX mana ahead of me.

The clear counter strategy is to play thief rogue, mixtape into twig, and hero power to break it. Because if you can't beat them, join them.
Regarding the 25th Baam. It is a reference to the main character of a certain (really good) korean webcomic called The Tower of God.

they need to make twig a 1/4 or have it still be a 1/5 and make it say "deathrattle: if this used all its durability gain 10 mana crystals" makes it weak to weapon destruction and lets u not replace it and gain the mana like u can do now and its fine and still strong just not broken

So…total HS noob here but can someone explain exactly how the Griftah play worked? I kinda felt lost 💀
Griftah discovers two completely random cards and then gives one to your opponent *at random* and in this case it just so happened that the opponent got the Azalina, who replaces their hand with a copy of Rarren's. Their Mechathun, which wins them the game, only triggers if they have a empty deck, battlefield, *and* hand. With Azalina in hand, they had to play their Mechathun first, because Azalina would delete it when played. But playing their Mechathun first and then the Azalina still screws them, because they fully refill their hand and then Mechathun is vulnerable to being killed and therefore destroying their win condition and losing them the game

And, well, they hadn't printed weapons for Druid for reason. Sphere was a mistake.

Twig always needed to have the Deathrattle only activate when the weapon is at 0 durability. So stupid that it's been hamstringing card design for years because any Druid weapon would be able to activate Twig prematurely.

I beat every single druid deck by playing Shudderwock deck & adding the Kobold that steals weapons.
I got rolled by this deck so many times trying to climb out of gold last night.
Honestly, the biggest problem with wild druid isn’t even Guff, it’s always been the Twig.
I don’t understand why that isn’t changed or banned yet. It was clear it was going to break wild at some point, especially after they added the sphere.
It wasn’t a problem before because there wasn’t a neutral weapon tutor to make it consistent… now it’s been made consistent

If the aim is only to hit both weapons, wouldn't you maybe be better by not playing the 1st 2-drop (wait to get 1 other out before) ? Then you have 3 outs you can draw instead of 2.

Is not really just the twig either. Even without twig , wild druid has just hit a critical mass of good cards where a good curve of ramp cards leads to game breakingly good draw power . Things like the twig combo simply lets them get the ramp off a few turns earlier CONSISTENTLY. This is really a case of a neutral weapon breaking wild. More than instrument tech. Even without both twig and sphere shenanigans. Druid still consistently ramps to either celestial alignment or gets to 10+ mana by like turn 6-8 . at which point you simply win by playing any of the 10000 win cons druid can play like : mill , mill + tog , mill + tog + jailer + bolf , linecracker , mechathun , jade auctioneer into a 50 spell yogg etc...
Easiest nerf is probably ban guff tbh as bizarre as it sounds. That way you have to play either innervate + aviana kun , celestial alignment and just worse cards to be able to play pass 10 mana in 1 turn. (Well i guess floop is also pretty good)

I mean Auto complete still gives you the best cards for a deck most of the game. There's usually a few duds in there but for the most part the algorithm is pretty good now.

The 25th Baam is a refference to the Tower of God manwha series and anime
same with the 8 mana 6/6 elemental (can't for the love of god remember the name of the green dude) that draws your HIGHEST spell and then summons a random minion that has equal mana cost. Put in natural selection and you draw it far more consistently. I've summoned so many 10 mana 'turn the tide' cards that then 1 or 2 turns later were buffed with +4+4 aswell... Fun stuff that isn't completely broken like the many cards now that have 'kills the enemy hero' effect...
make it 5 mana and increase the stats, just to make it so that Druid can't get 10 mana until their opponent has 6 or 7 instead of 4
