When I move to next story and go back the line thickness changed back to original. Any feedback on that?

We'll that's weird as I've not experienced this, but I'll suggest you create a different line weight and assign it to your drawings, and please make sure you save your line weight new settings.

What about those working based on BIM
Wouldn't this create a confusion?

This is where "WORKSHEET" comes in, you copy your already finished plan to your worksheet then you can go back to your plan and change your wall to "generic wall structural" so you can work with "BIM"
