Welcome back to the show! This video is part 1 of a 5-part series on Jorge's Fast and Furious collection here in Edmonton, Alberta. The second generation Mitsubishi Eclipse is one of the most recognizable Japanese sports cars of the 1990s and part of a large group that were rising to previously unseen popularity in the United States. With this new wave of turbocharged FWD, AWD, and RWD cars hitting the roads, The Fast and the Furious (2001) almost seemed like an inevitability. This Eclipse we're driving today is the base GS model, built to look like Brian O'Conner's GSX from the first few scenes of the original film. Enjoy!

Thanks for giving the spotlight my eclipse build deserves đđŒ
I didn't know you had sold it yet I had to look twice because I knew you weren't Latino đ€Ł
Thereâs a guy named Hardpark on insta from Sacramento thatâs doing the same thing!! Check him out he sets up a lot of local meets. Also great build đ
Your car got the spotlight when it was built in 2003.
@@TWOxTONE_773 2003 ? The original hero car was built in 1998... and this one in 2015 đ
I follownyou on it and I knew it had to be your car
Ah, The Fast & The Furious. When they actually were street racers and not super heroes...
Here we go with this shit again always a hater that comes in here with the stupid comments
Bruh, I bet you only saw 2 fast n furious movies! Havenât you seen all the movies in order?
@@Rosas08 i have seen all of them what's your point
@@markhill4366 my point is that I donât know what Iâm saying at this point
Agreed, Its all bullshit superheroes and stunts that shouldn't even be possible. Heck they're bringing back dead characters now. The difference between the first and next film are an eclipse with NOS trying to win and a Pontiac Fiero with a jet engine on the back trying to do some crap to go to space or some shit.
If I remember correctly, Brian's eclipse was not the gst or gsx, it was either the gs or rs that used the 420a engine....
Was coming to hope he didn't nitrous or turbo that motor. Granted they could take abuse, the support is non existent. Too bad right.
It was an RS with the 420a
You are correct. I had the same car at the time (rs) and instantly recognized the 420a motor when they popped the hood.
yep. it was the GS, naturally aspirated. oh, with a widened throttle body. so yeah, a whopping 141 horsies!
@@LemonChecks it was an RS. The GS has an n/a 4G63 the RS has the 420a which the movie car was.
P.W. 1973/2013

Wow, everyone in the comments is nitpicking at how he didn't get the model right.
You guys are just going to glimpse over the fact that he got the EXACT wheels and the EXACT bodykit and wing? Like that's worth nothing to you, huh?
Not only that, but last time I checked, he gave us this video. So shush, and stop nitpicking. Let him have his fun
Actually the "hero" car used for the movie was the GS... It was this actually the same as this one.
Why are they mad that he got the better model lmfao
People are dicks they dont know how much work ive put into this
We are not mad that he got this wrong, itâs just human nature to correct misinformation when you know the correct information.
If you going to put this much time and effort into this, why wouldn't you just get the actual model?
Anyone else notice how much the Eclipse was smoking!? Looks like the mad scientist never got round to changing those fried piston rings... đ
Holy shit lol time to put it on the patch I think đđ
it's because he was granny shifting, not double-clutching like he should
đ
@Vviper 4194 turbo whistle from ebay
Its smoking cos Trans Crew shot it đ€Ł
Vin Diesel really seems to have lost some muscle mass. Voice changed too.
Pin petrol
I mean ... people change in the course of 20 years ...
It's his cousin Vin Vegan.
Ya he stopped talking and only saying I'm Groot
he doesnt even remotely looks like him , he looks more like a meth addict xD hahaha
According to Craig Lieberman, the Eclipse used in the movie was the RS NA model so yours is actually really close to it.
That is correct. Donut Media did a video on this car aswell that's worth checking out.
I thought you could here a blow off valve in the beginning on the movie?
@@garrettlewis826 it was all sound effects.
@@garrettlewis826 the Eclipse's sound in the movie I believe it was from a turbo Civic

@@RoadsUntraveled The video really makes you feel some type of way when the movie clips are showing up
They're so good! Looking forward to seeing more of these videos
Rest in Peace Paul, we all miss you.
always loved this car from the franchise. very underrated.
Brian's '95 Eclipse is definitely my favorite of the franchise.
Personally I like the yellow R33. Also it's funny how the original owner of the Eclipse *R.I.P* told universal paint the car any color but green
Second only to the silver skyline
Same but R34 blue skyline is not replacable.
We meet again
The eclipse is my favorite of the franchise as well no other car tops it to me but in the 1st 4 movies their was so many very sexy cars
I wish we could bring this type of customization back. I would love to start building rides like this
No one is stopping you! ;)

Almost had me???
You NEVER had me, you NEVER had your car!!
Granny shifting not double clutching like you should .......
Noooo monic....sorry a bit late
Youâre lucky that 100 shot of NOS didnât blow the welds on the intake.
Hector is going to be running 3 Honda Civics with spoon engines. And on top of that he just came into Harry's and he ordered 3 T66 turbos, with NOS, and a Motec system exhaust.
Canât wait for the rest of the series. So much nostalgia. Thank you Marcus.
Your editing is very impressive. Blending in the shots/quotes from the movie was really cool.
That style Eclipse looked really good for the 90s. Still looks good.
You need to make the floorpan fall out at about 120mph. đ
I love how you drop the movie in, great video keep up the good work!
The fact that he found the actual wheels
Rare as fkk.
Thats what shocked me too. Like where did u find a time machine to get thoes wheels first of all???
He should cast them and replicate them..
Putting a mark on them or a slight variance to show that they aren't identical copies but enough to show between real or copies
R.I.P KING
Rip king pedophile đ€Ž
The fast and the furious movie was the reason I got into cars... Thank you for this video.
This guy is awesome! Thank you for sharing your cars!
Itâs crazy that they used the engine noise from an Integra GSR in the actual movie!! This is an awesome replica and done very nicely.đđœ Those cars and that franchise will always be classics!
Welcome back! This is PART 1/5 in our Fast and Furious series here on the channel :D Next episode is on the HERO TRUCK (Used on screen) from the 4th movie. LIVE NOW! czcams.com/video/6NgJUFbYGxg/video.html. Remember, it's not how you stand by your car, it's how you race your car. You better learn that!
P.S.! Seeing a LOT of comments on the movie car not being a GSX, but in fact an RS just like this one with the 420a. I feel like a lot of people are mis-interpreting what I said and quickly commenting. I said ""Brian O'Conner's" Eclipse in the movie was supposed to be a GSX." Within the FICTION of the movie. Because I said Brian O'Conner, the character's name. I know the ACTUAL movie car has a 420a... But in the Dodger's Stadium scene there are plenty of turbo and blow-off noises to be heard. So within the fiction of the movie (suspension of disbelief) the Eclipse is supposed to be either a GS-T or a GSX. I just assume GSX because why would he not get the top model with an $80,000 budget from the FBI. ;) Hope this clears things up.
So yes, the car used on set was base GS non-turbo model.
and yes, the car within the fiction of the movie is portrayed as either a GS-T or GSX turbo model. (Due to all of the turbo noises it makes)
The 420 was the motor Paul had in the movie and it wasnât a gsx watch the movie.before he races dom when Jessie and him pop the hood
You can see when Paul spins out in the beginning that it was FWD
The original was a gs...
"i almost had you" famous line after the race eclipse will forever be paul's first and best car
Great video with wonderful editing. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
Craig Lieberman also owned the R34 hero from the second movie , and he hated the blue graphics lol , but it was pushing at least 600HP
Huge F&F fan. RIP Paul, he got me into cars
they deserve a lot more support, great video man
Best episode man got really inspired thank you to Jorge and to this channel
I miss those times, sad how time flies, cant believe it's been so long ago :(
fucking depressing right
- Your Eclipse ?
- Yes my, I'm standing next to him
- It doesn't matter that you're standing next to the car and it's yours. Other things are important: the way you drive it! Remember this
Mooooonicaaaaa!!!
Wow I love this! Fantastic editing at the beginning. Awesome replica. Love those Axis Model 7
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. Remember to subscribe and stay tuned for the rest of the series!
In the movie the car was supposed to be a GSX but the "hero" car used was just a GS or RS.
"Brian O'Conner's Mitsubishi Eclipse was neither the turbocharged all-wheel-drive Eclipse GSX, nor the lesser GS-T. Instead, the movie car had a Chrysler 420A, a naturally aspirated, twin-cam 2.0-liter engine with a small handful of mods."
In other words itâs slow as shit lol.
Correction: single cam
Such a great video! I think Craig Lieberman said that all the Eclipses used in the film were actually RSâs
GST not GSX but the car was A RS just boosted and for the movie sound effects was added to give it that turbo sound.
indeed. i was thinking the same when he said that the car in the movie was a GSX.
But oh well. Mistakes happen
Yep! What I meant by saying "The Eclipse in the movie was supposed to be a GSX" is that in the fiction of the movie, Brian O'Conner's Eclipse is a GSX. In reality, under the hood, yes, the vehicle used on screen has a 420a under the hood. Hope this clarifies that!
Movie isnt turbo. No turbo sounds in any scene. Just revs. Yes jesse did say " t4 turbo Dominic" when they popped the hood thou.
@@martinworobec6616 wrong!!!! facepalm
@@SIRICKO lol wrong what. His car was not turbo. Even the movie shot where they opened the hood u can see the 420a motor. With a header. No turbo in sight.
Amazing video quality as always
Its amazing still to this day how much
Wrong info there is floating around about this car.
The hero car was a 1995 RS
420a engine no turbo no nitrous.
Craig Lieberman has a video with the original owner who rented the car to Universal for the movie.
is it complete with a floorpan that falls out when you hit a certain speed?
The car used in the movie was the gs not the gsx

@@Turshin its a joke of a motor and 200hp is nothing and depressing coming from a modified motor
Those DSM cars were built in my hometown of Normal, Illinois. I remember as a kid seeing the plants car yard full of gen 1 and gen2âs. The lot is insanely huge. Sadly, the Highway exit no longer says Mitsubishi Motor Way. The Plant is now owned by Rivian, and since been renamed 100 Rivian Motorway. I truly hope it brings us jobs if we can all make it through Covid-19. So glad I saw this episode, it brought me right back to my youth. I can proudly say I got to drive a Gen 1 with a 4G63 5 speed turbo brand new when I was 16yrs old circaâ93. Amazing cars. Who knew those motors would still be animals to this very day. Be well and drive safe!
Wow amazing, props to the owner also love the environment and location đđ
It's an amazing machineđđ

Such a good dude, humble.
What a humble dude!
The movie Eclipse had the 420a Chrysler motor. So a legit replica wonât have a 4G63.
Exactly what that replica has... The guy just doesn't know what he is talking about...
Tuna no crust đđŸ
That's so awesome! Need you to do an in-depth review of every fast and furious car that he owns!
Thank you, eclipse is my dream not exactly movie rep because it deserves some of today's love.
I really wish it actually sounded like a Supercharged CRX and a Turbocharged Integra Type-R.
Dude u are everywhere haha wtf haha
Yeah dude, the builder got it right it wasn't a GSX. It was an RS or GT. It was actually the non-tubro FWD car with the neon motor. LOL :D So this is super accurate to the movie car.
Exactly
What a cool story. Absolutely love it. You had to be a teen/ early in the early 2000âs to get that feeling.
That RX/ from Tokyo is a beast
The eclipse in the movie is a 420a motor front wheel drive! Get your info right
@Cee Cee lol
You said a series?..
Okay, I'm looking forward to the RX-7s
New sub here ,loving all these nostalgic rides
Great collection , awesome guy..
in the movie it was a gs model with a 420a and a turbo kit not the 4g63
The front wheels even spin in the first race lol
No turbo kit...
It was a rs model
Me: How much money this guy have? :-D
Him: Yes
the nostalgia of the first movie. what a time!!!
Love ur buildsđ
Couldn't have been a GSX in the movie when he spins only the front wheels at the parking lot of the stadium. Fictionally only a GST even though we all know even that wasn't true either in reality
Couldn't have been a gsx cause his didn't have a 4g63
You are absolutely correct bud it was a rs eclipse
I believe the GS also had the 420A bit I've also seen the 4g63 in the GS. I had a 97 RS. Fun car to drive, just wish it had more power.
The hero car was actually a 95 eclipse rs. Not the gsx like everyone thinks.
thank you someone who actually knows
i was gonna put this comment
Nit picking. Really. Who cares.
I watched the first movie 3x in the theater. Honestly only like the first and second movie. But I can honestly say that movie changed my life.
Awesome.. wanna see all the cars this dude has!!
I reckon paul walker is there with all you guys because he loved cars so much rest in peace to a true legend

my guy it was an rs
@@brazychris same shit. No side skirts big deal...
If it was either the gst or gsx it would've left everyone in that first race. 10k into a dsm engine it'll fly.

That thing smokes bad swap it please
"this car doesnt have the 4g63, unfortunately it has a naturally aspirated inline 4 cylinder" when someone who doesnt know shit about cars is trying to explain them...

That whole collection with Alberta plates on them!! My god that's something to be proud of and it's a huge accomplishment, a collection like that this far north with the winters and wild weather we have!!
I had to laugh when Dom screamed "NAAAWWWS" in the sounds clips at the beginning of the video đđđ
What for an insane dream build. Nice car have fun with it.

On FnF fandom they write that it is Mitsu Eclipse GS '95 420A Neon 16-valve DOHC 2-liter 4-cylinder; 210hp, 75hp Nitrous Oxide System (never fully installed, only for show), naturally aspirated/no turbo, etc.
I have seen this car in 2 car show in Quebec. Very great build. Dom did the most accurate replica
Amazing, U put same rims!!!! Congrats from Brazil
I remember after the movie came out, everyone started slapping those big-ass aluminum spoilers on their trunks. They thought having those spoilers boosted their car's cool factor by a few levels đ You see Camrys, Sonatas & all kinds of domestic sedans with giant spoilers in the rear while the rest of the car stayed stock đ
Alberta represent!
This is sick
Absolute beautiful. I would drive it everyday. That, along with the second is the only movies I really watched. This was my favorite car why I looked it up to see where it went. This will do
