  • "It's a responsibility I don't take lightly. Keeping cattle alive is not something everybody can do and I take pride in that. They say the cowboy is a dying breed but they've been saying that for 150 years and we're still here. There's things that we do that machines will not ever replace."

    I'm a gaucho,but cribbing collar on horse,should always be removed, when doing activities. Go cowboy 🤠

      Not a cribbing collar. It's a rope stay/keeper with a snap link to hold the rope up away from the horses feet and keep rope tension on the calf.

    Is his horse a cribber or why does he have the collar around it's neck?

    • @rogershipman3578
      @rogershipman3578 Před 3 lety

      At 1:06 you can see the collar is used as a rope stay. Calf ropers use these to keep the rope out from under the horses feet and maintain rope tension on the calf.

      He uses that to keep his horse faced up to the calf when he is on the ground doctoring. With the carabiner on his hobbles, the horse can't turn around and leave while dallied to the calf.

      The rubber is on the horn for roping and holding the rope on. Some poeple use leather around the horn

      @@robertmoore1123 I know why the rubber is on there, I cowboy for a living. People who use rubber don't know how to feed rope or prevent a calf from choking.
