    Drying out your wing and packing it well after each session is key to ensuring your equipment lasts and isn’t damaged.
    The last thing you want is a wet, poorly packed wing. In Open Sessions today, we’ll review best practices for drying and packing your wing in all conditions.

    Thanks for the tips. I would be good to have the bags zip come down all the way to help with packing :)

    a soft weight bag around 4-6kg with a snap shackle is perfect to clip onto the leading edge handle of the wing. Keep the wing on its back when attached. Tying at the end of the
    leash allows the wing to take off and swing around.

    Thanks for this video. I bought the 2022 6.0 Nova and the window really doesn’t line up with the handles. And it wasn’t packed that way from the factory. Trying and hoping the widows don’t deteriorate. Ultimately the windows are so small and outboard the really don’t increase visibility in a useful way. Otherwise as a beginner I like the sail so far.

    Is it the same recommandation for the North Mode Pro 2023. Because it doesn’t come packed like this. The wing is folded one times from the trailing edge and another time and the handle are in the interior. I found that strange but I dunno if I ve to continue to respect the packing of the factory for my Mode Pro or the packing advise by north ?
    Thanks for your answer.

      It's up to you really, folding as recommended in the video is how I always do it now

    I have just had to replace the internal centre bladder of my wing as it burst this week. I have been told it is highly probable the cause was hanging the wing from the handle rather than flat to dry, which caused the internal bladder to fold over itself at the leading edge (explained 5:05 in the video). During my subsequent session, the fold didn't open up, resulting in excessive pressure on the bladder at the leading edge and causing it to burst. I am curious to hear your thoughts on this issue for older wings and some still currnet, since the drying technique may not be appropriate for all types of wings.

      Hi Martin,

      Thanks for reaching out to us!

      Thank you for pointing out the detail at 0:50; we understand it contradicts what we say later. Wings should always be inflated when drying or, if possible, hung up by the tip of the strut. Overall, in general, drying inflated is the best practice.
      Please, let us know if you have any other questions.

      See you out there,

      Tyler 🤙

    Any tips how to let the air out of the valves slowly at first so it doesn't damage the plastic thread on the valve case as it gets blasted out when unscrewed?.... is it Taboo to push something into the valve to release the first higher pressure air without unscrewing?

    • @NorthFoils
      @NorthFoils  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Hi there,
      If you take your time releasing the air from the valve, there should be no damage to the thread itself.
      You can release the air pressure slowly but unscrew the valve just enough to the point where the pressure "leaks out" if you are worried about damaging the thread.
      I would never recommend pushing anything into the valve as you risk damaging the internal bladder of the wing, and then it's a whole other issue.
      I hope this helps,
      Frankie from North 🤙

    It's not a good idea to dry your wing in the sun. They have a limited UV life.

    • @NorthFoils
      @NorthFoils  Před rokem +1

      Hi There,
      Thanks for reaching out.
      Yes, it is generally not recommended to dry your wing foil in direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure to UV rays can shorten its lifespan. However, for a short period of time post-session, it is okay to let it sun dry before packing and storing the wing.
      To protect your wing foil from UV damage, storing it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use is best. If you need to dry it after use, choose a shaded area away from the sun's rays.
      Please let us know if you have any other questions.
      See you out there,
      Jamie 🤙
