- I installed a $15 cab corner using some basic hand tools along with a welder and some grinding wheels. Seam sealed and aerosol painted. It took me about 3 hours total over a 2 day span.

Real world! Appreciate a video showing how 99% of us diyers will do it. If we wanted it perfect we’d take it to a shop... or if we had the money! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I like the composure of Duff Dog not even flinching after hearing the grinder...nice! And is that Wonderwall playing in the background Nice touch...
Did you watch the same video I did? He got up and left.
Hey Mortskie, u have SOOO much knowledge about classic cars & trucks!! I hope to be on that level when I grow up! I love ur videos & ur hard work. Even though it ain't work if ur doing what u love! So keep it up! Much love from THA NOLA!!!
Thanks much for watching and for the kind words!
easy on the weekend work, and another great DIY job.
That dog was like "gd I was comfortable... fuck this I'm out of here" lol
Looks like pretty good work. need to do the same on my old 96 ext cab corners and rockers.
Hey. It was interesting how you make the corner of the car. You do a Good job. I like the video.
Thanks for watching and for the kind words!
sweet job! I've got one to do in the next few months

Going back through all the DEEP CUTS.
Rock on, Morstske.
Vintage films!
Sweet job on the welding bud 🇬🇧✊🏻
I do what I can!
Back at beercase garage we had a wde assortment of state license plates to pick from . Not so on the pop rivets.
I make a sweet set of rockers out of rain gutters n windshield urethane there's about 6 of them trucks I've done and they will never rot. I love doing used cars.
O contrer mon frère..... watching someone else doing metal work is magnifique ! Your work is exelemon !
Thank you so much 😀
You sure would make one Cool shop Teacher Mortske !
Haha, editing makes me look tolerable and moderately intelligent!
nice work !
Look good to me from Lancaster California
Keep up the great work man fantastic
Thanks for watching!
Great video man! One thing I can suggest to interested people is wear a mask or respirator though. When I did the drivers floor and rocker / cab corner on my 88 I actually got a lung infection about halfway through from the constant grinding and welding. Just my 2 cents. Keep up the good work everyone keep these great trucks going!
Thanks for the tip
Yankee's are not very smart. Hopefully the south doesn't decide to fire round 2 on those bloody clown's...
@@wildestcowboy2668 round 2? You fools are too stupid to pull anything like that off. Us "yankees" kicked red neck ass once already and will do it again.
Good choice of music
It looks very good. Nothing perfect bit it's a cheap car. And it looks fantastic. G ood job
Quick and easy! Good way to learn and practice as well. Thanks for watching!
That's pretty neat lol

Our pleasure!
You have the same "natural" hard hat i have ! We're just fashion plates . LOL
You a funny ass dude 🤣
Thanks Kevin!
The amount of rust dust I have ingested inhaled or impaled over the years has left permanently magnetic!
has left me etc
Good enough for the girls we go with.
Damn straight!
what did you have the welder set too temp and feed wise?
I use a Miller 140 and have the wire speed at about 55 and the amperage at about the 3.5 setting. It will vary from welder to welder.
How did you get the box off? did Fido help? I wish you'd show that part first.
I had some help
Not bad morski first time ever saw you with your head off where the hell is great but you can't do it too much you will shock people when you take your head off ask me how I know.
LOL replace head with hat
Damn! Mortske alittle bare on top are we?
Hola , sabes si se consigue la parte continua que es como estribo
Nice video. Thanks! Why did you remove all the paint on the old corner before cutting it off?
To find good material
@@MortskeRepair OIC, thanks
Where did you get them cab corners for $15
I found them on the eBay!! Thanks for watching!
Are cab corners and rocker panels all one piece?
No, they're separate from the factory and replacements as well.
@@MortskeRepair thank you
Where did you buy the cab corner from?
I bought the cheapest one I could find on eBay.
Here on the east coast that's a very common problem
Where can I get a $500 pickup in that kinda shape ? Certainly not around here . A couldn't afford to have one shipped because that would exceed to the cost of the truck . Who am I kidding I couldn't even buy a $500 truck :(
Where did ya get the cab corner
Ebay!
How would you go about lining the bed lines up with the cab? My truck has the same thing going on.
I'd replace the mounts and go from there. If need be I'd add shims to level it out.
Hi what time of welderare your using
Miller 140
Good video. Think you could make a video of a mid 2000's dodge ram front outer U joint and hub? It would sure be interesting to see that done.
Hello Jake, I'd love to make something like that. Unfortunately my Dodge never breaks down!
Was this to just watch you replace a cab corner or to show how to replace a cab corner? Suggestion bring the camera closer to the work.
I was trying to show how to install the cab corner. This was an early video I did. I've learned a few editing and shooting tricks since then! Thank you for the feedback Daniel!
I didn't recognize u without a hat and those sunglasses.
where you get corners what was part num,ber
eBay
Should have cut it below the body line. It better to leave as much original metal as possible. Only cut out what's infected
I'm not much of a body guy. Good point.
The shops charge a lot to do that
And it's not hard to do!
@@HandymanHustle Make sure you seam seal it or rust will come back through.
@@HandymanHustle Correct, you'll get moisture between the two pieces of metal if not properly sealed up.
@@HandymanHustle wow, yeah, seam sealer is much easier to work with and designed for this application
The “$15 cab corner” you used When you film this video is now more like $40…Let’s go Brandon!
Tough times
It's called finding a good deal.... don't buy the first 3 you see bud. Lol
Need to have the camera in closer showing close up of what your doing, otherwise video is useless!!
Kind of like you
@@MortskeRepair well, useful enough for you to reply to! Happy to help.
Not very instructive.
We'll try harder next time.
