- A new page in this Altered Book Art Journal inspired by a new visitor to my garden :-)
In this page I used:
Distress Ink in Hickory Smoke
Archival Ink (black and shadow grey)
Derwent Inktense watercolour pencils
Stamp was from Make Your Mark shop in York, UK
White Posca pen
Liquitex Matte Gel
Windsor and Newton white gesso
Oh, and Rosco the cat too!

What a unique art journal!!! I am a bird watcher/photographer and this project is just so appealing to me. I can draw fairly well lol. so I really want to do this!! I heard this music the first time on your channel a few months ago and had to go find it! Addicted to that beautiful sound as much as your art. I’m not allowed (by me) to put woodpeckers in my art even though I adore all nature, because the woodpeckers continue to poke holes into my son’s house which he has to repair before selling. Then they discovered babies in one of the holes 😳 so they are waiting for them to fly away before they fix that hole!! Life can be so humorous and often reminds us that we are not always in control and that when we are we need to be thoughtful!! 😊
Ah yes, I love the lessons nature reminds us of all the time if we just tune in! x

I love this so much! Where I live in Northern Arizona, we get 4 kinds of woodpeckers! This is one of your spreads where it's not so intricate and I think I would like to do something similar. (I even have a stamp set featuring leaves that I ordered recently!) I love your channel si much! Most of my art is inspired by Nature. Although I learn techniques from people who do art featuring faces, it's not something I've ever done. ❤from Prescott, AZ USA

First time catching your channel and really enjoyed watching you create those lovely pages; in particular I liked what you did with re-stamping those leaves onto torn-out pages, tearing around them, then emphasising the edges (I always like 'putting text back into the book' too... 😏)

I’m borrowing some inspiration from you today. It’s the birds, pale blue, and trees today! Cats 💯 know when were calm. I read that when cats soak up the sun’s vit d , they will sit on their family to transfer it. It’s important for cats to sun , even if only a sunbeam theyre jist like little battery packs. Cats truly vibe and he likes the energy you’re putting out.

Love Rosco’s entry! Love the way you used the woodpecker and the pages behind! I feel like you lost the birch he was on, the horizontal lines are non-existent in most of it with the tissue because it was very subtle to start with. Overall, I enjoyed the process and inspiration!

Thank you so much! I find that most of my inspiration arrives after a walk in the beautiful countryside around me, or just from my own garden. I find nature is such a big part of my creativity and it's good for my soul :-)

What a great page.. I am wondering what book is the woodpecker page from? I think it may be the same as the owl and the wren and I want to try to find it. 😊
oh my gosh, I have so many books I get my images from but I think these ones came from a book called A Companion to the British Countryside. I get all my books from charity shops or house clearances so they probably won't be in print anymore.
A splendid video thank you. However i suspect you didnt realise that the book you used as a donor was really special. The Author , J B Morton (aka Beachçomber) wrote some of the most original comedy stories published in the English Language and original bound volumes are sought after. I just hope it wasnt a first edition.😂
