- Please help us get enough funds for a wheelchair van! Ali was given 1 year to live and this past March she turned 15!! The bigger she gets, the hardet her care has become. This is where we need your help! Please take the time to watch the video and if you can go to www.gofundme.com/wheelsforali and donate $5 or $10...or just share the video to help spread the word.
We are flat broke and on the brink of bankruptcy. We wish you the best. Cheers!
blessings to the Darland family my heart goes out to you

Heather Terry what?
Who the heck is Shawn And Jack?
i dont get why wheelchair vans are needed as i was able to fit my grandma in a motorized chair into an unmodified 1992 chrysler town and country in high school. i used a homemade ramp to get her (in the chair) inside and secured her with a few heavy duty chains and locks on the seat strikers as tie downs.
Many times people sitting in wheelchair don't have enough clearance in the door height or width to fit into a non-modified van. By lowering the floor and widening the door, makes it safer for both the patient and caregiver. The NHTSA has very strict guidelines on safety making sure the modifications meet very strict guidelines and the wheelchair rider is as safe as is humanly possible. In the case of a WHEELINIT VAN, the modification makes the van safer than it was originally. Consider putting the additional weight of both the person and the wheelchair inside a typical non-modified van, things can happen that the caregiver may never consider. Additional weight can go up to 800 additional pounds. Your situation is the exception and not the rule.
