  • IT WAS NOT ALLOWED TO DISMANTLE ANY PARTS FROM THIS VEHICLE!
    Van der Ven Auto's is the dutch market leader in environmentally friendly car recycling. And we are quite proud of that. Every scrap car is professionally stripped of any liquids and batteries, and then meticulously stripped even further. In collaboration with Auto Recycling Nederland (ARN), thanks to this high-end method, a recycling percentage of 95% of the total weight of a dismantled vehicle is achieved. Together we strive for a green automotive, are you participating?

      They were probably allowed to choose if they wanted to do the job or not?

      What possible law is that, asking honestly?

    What a waste, there isn’t a lot of them left in Europe especially. They could have donated it to a museum. It’s a 1960-61 T5 by the way

  • @graemebrowse1617

    Idiotic regulations! They could have made money for the Government by selling the parts - and what is more environmental than re-using?

    Court should have donated it to a charity to sell off. Even if it meant it couldn't stay in the Netherlands!

    • @glensgraphix
      @glensgraphix Před 3 lety +1

      That would give the person it was seized from an opportunity to retrieve it back. A donation to a museum with the condition it never left the site and not be sold for 50 years would of been a better option. But we're talking about politicians and governments. Which means any form of common sense is out the window.

    Whether is a Gullwing Merc or a shitbox Hyundai, these laws are moronic and shortsighted.
    Nothing that is economically serviceable or of value should be destroyed, they should be auctioned off and the proceeds given the victims of crime or charities.

    Does anyone know why it was crushed & not exported back to the previous country it was shipped from or sold at auction?

  • @csmarkham
    @csmarkham Před 3 lety +1

    Can't blame these guys for following the rules sent to them. But why didn't the impounding agency send this to auction? That happens all the time. Lazy officials. This car would have never made it to the recyclers if someone had taken even a moment to investigate how this could have made that agency $50-$100k, easily.

    That seems awfully wasteful. Couldn't the government that ordered that scrapped just actioned it off, they would get a lot more money than the metal value.
