In case you're wondering, the art work was done by one guy the whole time named Derek Riggs. And the 'thing' you always see on the albums is their Mascot named Eddie. He originally started out as just being a head and was called Ed the head or Eddie the head. But then it took on a life of its own.

I loooove Iron Maiden and I’ve always loved that album cover! When I was a kid and saw that album for the first time, it totally captured my imagination. It actually ended up changing my life! I would always imagine the world that the picture took place in.

LOL, that was so hilariously random! 😂 That's Bruce Dickinson holding the brain on the back cover by the way, not Nicko McBrain (it's a reference to Maiden's 'Piece of Mind' album). 😉 The Acacia sign you mentioned is a reference to the song "22 Acacia Avenue", which is from Iron Maiden's 3rd album and one you mentioned in this video, 'The Number of the Beast'. "22 Acacia Avenue" is the second song in the Maiden's 'Charlotte the Harlot' saga, the first being titled "Charlotte the Harlot" and appearing on their first album, 'Iron Maiden'. Anyway, the front & back covers of 'Somewhere in Time' contain a lot references, I'll send you a link that goes over them all. 👌
As for this video, well it was another awesome addition to your album series, Prim, and just so enjoyable and relaxing (& humorous too)! I loved everything about it, your commentary and each & every sound, most especially the glorious no talking zone during the last few minutes (so amazing)! Great list Joey but I noticed your list stops at the Brave New World album. Do you like anything post Brave New World? Some of my favorite songs are Face in the Sand, The Pilgrim, For the Greater Good of God and The Legacy.

One of my favourite pics that I took was at one of their concerts, outside. A guy in front of me was doing the devil horns. In the middle of horns, was the bass player. I was lucky enough to snap a pic of that. 🤟🏼

After hearing "Alexander the Great" off this album as a kid, I sought out Arrian's "Campaigns of Alexander" at the library. To my surprise and awe, the source-text is just as thrilling as the song. I've since worn out several Arrian copies of my own, and the song has served as a motivational alarm-clock track ever since. For anyone who wants to go even deeper, genuine Greek coins from Alexander's time and bearing his portrait can be had for less than a new video game these days. Thanks for another great vid, Prim!
Blade Runner influenced that cover. Song titles are hidden there like the street sign "22 acacia avenue", the clock is "2 minutes to midnight", the bar "Aces high"...etc.

Wasted Years is one of the best Maiden songs. Always get chills listening to that one. The lyrics are great too.

Well I wasn't expecting that, being a bit of a big maiden fan your video popped up so I thought i'd check it out, I have to say it was very relaxing, especially as it's just gone 3am over here and i'm just back from the boozer. This is an awesome album, give it a listen if you haven't already. The cover art is fantastic, all the little details relate to other maiden songs or earlier periods of their history e.g. the Ruskin Arms pub where they played some of their first gigs about 40 years ago. They are still rocking stadiums and are on tour this summer, go check them out! Happy New Year etc, cheers!

Oh, nice! I'm not that much into Metal anymore, but Iron Maiden is one of the most important bands for me during my teenage years.
My second favourite Maiden album just after Seventh Son of a Seventh Son! Caught Somewhere in Time and Alexander the Great are surely two of my top 10 Maiden songs of all time!

Once again you wear colors that are appropiate to what the album cover art is projecting. Nice color on the eyelids and a nice bracelet. Also nice artwork on your nails. This album cover features some weird and wild imagery that's far out. I find it interesting that one of your family members got a tattoo of an Iron Maiden album cover painted on the back. Does it cover the whole back or part of it? I love your whispered sound in this video. So very relaxing. The tapping on the album adds to the relaxed atmosphere.

Steve Harris formed Iron Maiden in 1975 but the line up that is playing on this album, got together only in 1982. Dave Murray became a permanent member in 1978, Adrian Smith joined in 1980, Bruce Dickinson joined in 1981 and Nicko McBrain joined in 1982.

My favorite Iron Maiden albums are Piece of Mind and Power Slave but this one is my favorite album cover. So many references to their past work in the details plus the Blade Runner cyberpunk vibe.

Joking aside, I understand you, I like the way how a tattoo looks but I would never have one for myself.
When I picked this album out for you I didn't know that you're interested in Outer Space, so that was like a bonus. Plus the letters on the sleeve were yellow. When you were going through the songs you actually missed one, but that's OK.
I was surprised to see how your subscribers appreciate this episode, it seems like you've gathered a lot of metalheads here. It's interesting because metal and ASMR are the exact opposite.
The first time I listened to this album in its entirety was on 12.12.2012, so whenever it's 12.12. I always listen to this album. My favorite song on this album and my all time favorite Iron Maiden song is "The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner".

Acacia Avenue refers to the song on number of the beast, eddie lives it the writing on the wall there and he’s the one front and center, there’s two minutes till midnight on the clock and the band drawn on the back, the power slave pyramid as well.

She skipped over a song. Heaven Can Wait is after Sea of Madness, it's the last song on side 1. And that album cover art contains so many "Easter eggs" referring to previous songs, albums, and other details of the band`s history up to that time. How ironic that in the store window in the background there is a banner with the words "THIS IS A VERY BORING PAINTING" printed backwards!! When I bought my first copy of this album it was a cassette tape, so I was finding all of those details on a much smaller picture!!🤣

Wow! Somehow I missed this one until now! This is the album that introduced me to Maiden and made a lifelong fan out of me. I will be seeing them in concert again, this summer. Great video! I only wish you knew how many of the minor details on this album cover are references to either previous Maiden material, or pop culture. Yes, that is the Tardis. The entire thing is an homage to Blade Runner. Even Batman is on this album cover.
