I used to watch your videos last summer while looking for a job. I was so worried about not finding one, but your videos always made me so excited! This week I also finished packing up my classroom for the year. Coming back to your videos now makes me remember all those feelings I had while going to interviews and job hunting. Keep inspiring us first year teachers!💕

Oh man I got to clean my classroom today this Friday! In terms of next year there are a lot of theories going on in my district ranging from starting from a distance to starting in school with masks (not sure how that will be enforced) I hope they can figure out something practical and safe soon 💪🏻

  • @marysmemoriesinmotion8537

Packing up rooms this year has been a little bit more of a
challenge for educators due to the fact that most of them are unable to bring
in help. I am happy that your experience went so smoothly. 😊
I know that it is also like an adventure where you begin to gather a lot of fun
ideas for next year. I hope that you have a great summer with your family!

I can't wait till I get my teaching certification! I want to celebrate it with my friends my family and the teachers that inspired me. Teaching won't be my job it will be my career. I love working with children its my calling.

Right now, our governor has told us that school we be resuming in the fall, but as far as what that looks like, we don't 100% know yet. I just want to go back to my classroom and teach! Distance learning was not my jam. Thanks for the video--I always enjoy watching them! I need to finish cleaning my room and I keep putting it off.

This was easily the longest, and saddest, experience I have ever had closing up my classroom for the end of the year. It was a lot harder without a small battalion of second graders to help. Glad it went smoothly for you!

In Washington D.C we're talking about a hybrid model. They've given us lots of different precautionary measures we might have to follow (everyone wears masks, students don't leave the classroom throughout the day, minimizing class sizes and then alternating when students come to school), but like many others we have nothing concrete set in place!

Hey, I found you!!! Sound like you'll be in sixth grade again then. I'm still at OVO in third. It's SO nice to be able to open up a classroom without having to unpack your teacher life...especially with a baby in tow. I know my first baby (born in Feb of 1997), spent plenty of time with me as I set things up in August. Won't take you long at all either. I still need to get you that book ("The Best Part of Me") for you to use with your students. Too much for my third graders! You are a warrior, lady!

Such a strange year. Here in Alaska, things are rolling out in scenarios. We were told there were three different ways we could start the year. Our district is making teachers have three weeks of lesson plans ready online just in case there’s a code red again. Having kids come in small groups was our medium risk and then back to school like normal. Hopefully we can go back to normal, we just don’t know what the world will look like in two months!

I go to my classroom on Wednesday to pack up students belongings for pick up the following Monday. We didn’t have to pack anything because we have been out of the building since March 13th. They just took everything out, cleaned and waxed the floors for next year and moved it all back in the rooms! It’s going to be interesting to see if they put it all in the middle of my room or back in the same spot? I really enjoy your videos because I am always looking for ways to organize all the stuff!

DITCH that crappy teacher desk, because it takes up space and everyone will HOARD things in there, and that’s something I’m doing when I move in my very first REAL classroom and having my kidney table instead of the crappy teacher desk! And yes, get a kidney table! Also, you should get a white table from Ikea and you and Chris will assemble it and have that be your new teaching table!! I will put in a link on what table I think would looks good! 😍

Did you go to SDSU? I love your shirt! (I spent from birth to age 11 living about a mile from the SDSU campus- while I didn’t go there for college, I’m still rather attached to it- turns out that SDSU frat boys buying cases of beer for their parties make excellent Girl Scout cookie customers at the nearby grocery stores 😂) My school district in Virginia is planning on releasing more official plans (is it just me or does that sound crazy? 🤪🙄) in mid-June, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we start with distance learning (I don’t enjoy distance learning at all, but my area struggles to behave itself, so I see a second wave coming prompting distance again).

It will take a while to get enough people vaccinated so that there is what we call “herd immunity,” or enough people immune to the disease so that we don’t have major outbreaks.
