A 410 slug gel block video Tools that would be interesting
😎👍
Slugs, some common heavy buck shot and weird stuff like the pdx1 defender in a comparison would be nice
Hornady critical defense in 410 and PDX get me vote!!
Agreed
@@DM-mb3uzI think he has one of the pdx1 from like 2 years ago. It was out of the judge.
The 410 is sooo underrated. It’s small but wouldn’t want to be on the business end of it.
Defense oriented 410 loads, like Winchester Elite Defender, are pretty nasty out of a 410 shotty.
perfect for women and children home defense. i love that they put the safety right where it belongs.
Yep
It was meant to be a G.D.S. (General Defensive Shotgun) that every trusted member of the family could use.
Yes women, children only imo!
My wife has a 590A1 8+1 that she adores. She finds it easier to handle than a 9mm and to quote a movie, she's "a f*cking surgeon with that shotgun!"
It’s also perfect for men too
The Keltec might be cool but I would choose this 590 over it 2 to 1. Its a performer for sure. Very nice! 👍🙏
I got the Keltec fixed up pretty good now, but this 590 don't need no fixin.😎👊
@@ToolsandTargetsAnybody doubting the 410 for defense needs to get one & try it. A little smoother than my 60yr old Westernfield bolt action. 😂
Mossberg makes great shotguns, thanks for sharing
Solid guns.😎👊
Yes sir, I got me a Mossberg 835 with a vented barrel which keeps it from lifting and has impeccable accuracy! 👍 It's also the ideal shotgun for 3.5" shells. That particular gun was designed specificallly for those.
I've shot the 3'" 000 Buck Winchester load in mine and love it. It's our camping gun.
I think that’s the most effective overall load for two or four legged problems. For small game, then a 3” with #7.5 shot.
The spiciest slim Jim.
💥🔥💥
Love the .410, but finding shells is near impossible. Thanks, really enjoyed the vid.
That boom boom at 5:27 totally sent a fireball into the ground!
always giving my honest opinion I will today. I've always been a 12,20,16 gauge man over 44years and wouldn't waste my money on a 410. but recently thinking it through I've seen people who hunt from small game, deer, turkey and I must say wonderful. after looking up 410 slug energy power I'm greatly impressed. for self defense I highly recommend it in a good pump shotgun. I would buy a 410 pump now but she'll are about impossible to find and expensive where I live in NC. if I can find reasonable price ammunition in the amount I would want I definitely would add one to my collection. papa wishing you well 😊
You heard something fall? It's all good as long as it's not an Acorn! LOL! I think I like the Mossberg over the Kel-Tec. Great video as always thanks! Your the man!
I didn't even think about that!🤣🤣🤣
Bro that was my first thought, glad it wasn’t an acorn lol but no, Tools accidentally ejected a live round at 3:40 and that’s what he heard 😂
If you could only have one gun the .410 shotty is pretty damn versatile! Got some Federal .410 3 inch 6 shot at Walmart the other day!
I’ve been after just a plain old 500 Field shotgun in .410 for a long time. I believe Mossberg just recently quit making that model. But now that I’ve seen the 590 is made in.410 that’s even better. I can do with the shorter barrel. I’ve got the 590A1 in 12ga 9 shot, love it. Built like a tank but without all the weight of an all steel 870.
I have a 500 with wood stock and 2 barrels. Great fun!
Yes indeed.😎👊
I have every gauge shotty, I think, with factory shells…even a 32 and 24 gauge. Still love the .410 though!😊
Thanks again, Tools! Great video, as always!!
Excellent review sir. I have multiple orthopedic and neurological issues nowadays and my 20ga is getting a little strong on the recoil. I believe I have just found my next shotgun. I have a Mossberg HS410 already and another 410 would make my needs complete. Many blessings from Minnesota. Thanks again sir.
Mossberg all the way. Thanks for posting.
Love .410 brother. Great great video. Nice Mossberg 590 very accurate. I seen a piece of that watermelon 🍉 run down over the hill. lol 😂. Also seen the shaving cream was coming at ya. Really enjoy the .410 content. I have the Mossberg 500E in .410 polymer pump action and it is a good one too. Thanks for sharing keep ‘em coming in .410. Be safe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ that video gets 5 stars.
It's not that anyone is tired of 12g, it is being tired of you stringing us along every week to the next surprise like we just know a good video is coming! Stay tuned, stay prepared, and stay safe.
🤷♂️
Nice video Tools! The slow motion sound of racking the gauge was awesome. Always preferred the Mossberg pumps due to the safety position. Thanks for sharing!
Reliable and easy to run. Would certainly send a home intruder packing. Esp the sound of it racking another shell. I've got a 12ga 500.
I was amazed at the amount of .410 ammo I saw at the gun show today.
Hopefully they ramp up production some. The price is nuts.
@@ToolsandTargets Ummm.... We all know which direction prices go.
Mossberg has really come up in the last couple of decades. I remember the action bar would jump time and seize the gun sometimes, and the tang safeties would stop working on most of them I shot very much. they seem to have definitely picked up their game since back in the early nineties. I've been tempted to getting a Mossberg again.
Love that shotgun. Nice review. Always fun and interesting
Nice to see someone cover this model . Thank you
😎👊
Have two: one for critter control at the mountain house, & one for those urban critters at my city house. Lightweight, dependable, versatile, & easy to maneuver indoors or out. A lot more fun to shoot than my 590s in 12 & 20 gauge, & plenty of punch for most duties. Great video, Tools!
My 410s are a high standard pump and a rock island all gen, and a handful of winchester 370s and 37a's and then the 6 inch taurus judge
I own a Mossberg 500 12g. Love it. I dig that 590 .410 Tools 🇺🇸👊
Great looking tool, and some great hits, I had a 500 series In 12-gauge, that I wish I'd kept. THX Brian, enjoyed It. 👍🇺🇸
Thank you sir. I still have a few more shotguns to do videos on.😆
You found the sweet spot on that melon! I put a Monstrum low profile mount on my Mossy 410 (off amazon), and Burris Fastfire III red dot. Combined with the low recoil of the .410, it is a super fast handling machine more than capable of handling in-house security.
I'll have to check that mount out.😎👍
Enjoyed the review Tools ! Mossberg makes great shotguns ! This one might be my new truck tool !
Appreciate that, brother. Ran like a top.
First off I'm going to say. Love my 12 ga single barrel.... But since having a massive stroke in 2023 and losing my right arm and leg I can only shoot pistols and revolvers. Wish I could find a 410 single since they don't recoil bad ... Oh also gotta have something to hold front end of gun too (lol). Enjoy your vids keep to up.
From TN
Thats a perfect home defense tool, easily maneuverable, light weight, light recoil, but all business.
I want one 😂 Thanks Tools for a cool video man.
Really nice review! ❤Mossberg shotguns! Thanks!
Thank you sir.😎👊
I've held onto a bunch of my dad's old firearms stuff. Still have some ancient Winchester .410 slugs still in the box from ages ago, but don't have anything that chambers them. I've always been a fan of 20ga and the "good enough" calibers, even though I have a large variety of big bores and standard calibers. .410 is definitely a cool one, though!
Yeah, it's a lot of fun to shoot for sure.😎👊
My personal opinion ive had 3 different 500 and all 3 became paperweights after shooting a 3" slug through them, the first one was a hand me down, second one was slightly used and 3rd one was brand new, i then got a rem 870 and never looked back
I just gave an older mossberg 410 my grandson. Good shotgun for most things. 👍🇺🇸
Nice 😎👊
Got the Mossberg 500 in 12 with the pistol grip with 18 1/4 barrel ..its a bedside gun
Nice shootin' Tools...you seem to be getting better every vid.
😎👊
Another great review video Brotha ..
Very cool, had no idea they had it in that caliber!😮❤❤❤
Nice shotty work brother! 👍I must say I am pretty impressed with the .410 and I may have under estimated that round! That Keltec was pretty cool but the 590 is much better and easier operation with no weird hang ups. Good stuff! 💥💥
Thank you sir.😎👊
Nice scattergun there Tools! I don't have a 410 but they seem fun
Thank you sir. They are some fun.😎👊
The 590 is a great shotgun. Got one myself in 12 gauge. That .410 just looks different with that big gap between the barrel and the magazine tube.
That was Awesome, and very accurate
Love those boom booms. I have a 590SP 12 ga, great shotty.
Yessir. Hard to beat em.😎👊
That looks like a fun gun.
I have been all in on the 28 gauge this year. I can’t believe the price difference between 12,20,28 and 410. I can see why you try to get .410’s when you see them.
Yeah, it's insane at the difference in price.
Excellent gun. Definitely need one. Thanks
😎👊
I have the same set up in a 500 for HD. I keep it loaded with 2-9 pellet #4 buck and 3-4X.40" ball loads (0000). I do have 2.5" 4x000 and 3" 5x000 buck on hand. Wife could use if necessary. I don't feel under gunned.
A nice shotgun. Thanks for the video.
sweet, that looks like a lot of fun. seven pounds seems kinda heavy at first glance, but not when the tube holds seven rounds! thanks for another excellent video
😎👊 Appreciate you, brother!
Looks great. Thanks👍!
😎👊
My apologies. If I said something in my other comment that was improper, I certainly didn’t mean it. I would never want to disrespect you or your channel. I’m a big fan. Good stuff!
I'm guessing you had a comment disappear? If so, it was automated by YT because I never saw anything. It happens a lot, even to my own comments. Appreciate you, brother!😎👊
Mossberg makes some nice tools.
My wife is short, with a replaced shoulder. For her we went with the Mossberg 510 in 410. It is only a 3+1, but with the defensive loads for 410 it will punch a good sized hole in a well dressed thug. And with birdshot, well, she was good hitting clays last time out.
Ammo, 410 you pretty much have to buy a few boxes then start reloading MEC 600Jr. The MEC is sort of expensive, but it has paid for itself vs store bought ammo. birdshot $4.35 a box, buckshot $9.17 a box of 25.
I've considered trying to setup for shotshell reloading. I have the equipment to do centerfire but never have invested in the shotshell stuff.
@@ToolsandTargets Get the MEC 600 Jr for manual single stage reloading. Or step up to one of their others.Your prices will probably be higher than mine right now, but you will still beat retail cost significantly. Plus you get to load some things you can't find on the shelf too often, like lead free heavier pellets, buck and even slugs.
Ballistics Products is a place to shop for harder to find components, shot cups for buck, 410 slugs, some great reloading data for 410 loads available also.
Check it out, price it up. Look at some MEC 600 jr reviews and videos. And since you reload already, you know about added shipping costs for powder and primers. Buy those local.
After you get used to it, do a video. Brag about how cheap your loads are and how much fun they are to shoot.
Especially in the hard to find stuff like 16, 28 ga’s and .410 bore, the savings can be huge, as well as recycling hard to find hulls.
Pretty bad ass for a 410 I love the mossberg 590
I came across a sweet deal on a used Mossberg model 500 in 20ga. It has a rifled slug barrel and a smooth bore. Might have to do a little deer hunting with that slug barrel.👍 It does not appear the slug barrel has even been fired...
Nice! I would have grabbed that up too!
You did hear something fall.
Yeah, I saw that sixth shell while I was editing.😂
@3:44 what you heard fall was a shell you accidentally ejected that was already in the chamber. You can see it briefly in the video.
Couldn't tell if it was a whole live round or already fired....
Yeah, I saw that when I was editing. It was a live shell I had already chambered to start the vid.😂
Nice man!!
Perfect firearm for training the young'ins. That corncob grip still looks badass.
Yeah it does.😎👊
Yep, slugs and buck in gel would be a great watch. 4 shot at close range 7-10 yds would also be insightful.
😎👍
I'm sure it is capable of much more, but I fancy this little piece as the cutest truck gun.
😎👊
My money's on the Mossberg it's nice to see new tools finding a good home
😎👊
Nice to see more .410 Bore and 20 Gauge shotgun models by the time goes bye....Because 12 Gauge is unnecessary powerful, unnecessary loud and has unnecessary recoil for most of the applications you need a gun for....
You're not wrong. I like seeing stuff vaporize but it's a whole lot to handle for a whole lot of people.
That Buckshot stayed ina tight group - never knocking over the center object on the rail. And those and the slugs put a thumping on the fruit. Don't underestimate that for home defense.
Absolutely 😎👊
How does the recoil compare with a 12 gauge mini-shell? Love your work!
It's been a while since I ran minis. I'll have to do a little comparison on that.😎👍
Love my mossbergs...❤
It looks like a very handy and light shotty. At 3:39 it appears you shucked out a live shotshell and I'm assuming why you only had 5 shells left to shoot and not 6. Looks like the .410 will do some damage. 👍
Yeah, I noticed that in editing.😂
🇦🇺😎👍Had a Moss years ago before they got banned for safety with everything else just in case…That’s an awesome little tool 🏁mate🙂…The Tools&Target entertainment segment 🏁
"Safety" 🙄
@@ToolsandTargets 🇦🇺😎👍I think it’s for them
Good home defense gun!
I would have this and taraus judge if having to survive shf and could only carry so much ammo maybe try to carry a ruger mk 5 22 and 500 rounds you could easily carry 300 410 rounds and 50 rounds of 45
Only draw backs to 410 is availability and price on ammo. Mossberg is hard to beat
walmart been stocking 410 lately. thinking of getting one
I have a weak spot for any shotgun!! Love my Mossbergs!!
Hey Tools, Gret video. I know the capacity is 5+1 with 3" and 6+1 with 2.75". Can you tell me if there is a removable plug in the magazine tube to allow for even greater capacity?
Cool video
The tang safety is the first feature I look for on any shotgun. I don't worry about pistol grips because I don't like them on shotguns. For those who do, it will be more awkward reaching the safety. The only shotgun I prefer over the Mossberg is the Browning BPS, but you will spend more money and not find much in the way of aftermarket accessories. You could not give me a Kel-Tec shotgun.
Tang safety is the way for sure. Back when I bought my 590 Shockwave, I had the brace and grip conversion on hand before the shotgun even got here. It was then that I realized what a bad setup a pistol grip is with a tang safety.
@@ToolsandTargets A customer once had me install a cross-bolt safety in his Mossberg 500 because he did not like the tang safety, so now he has two ways to screw up! The cross-bolt safety is not very intuitive and its location can vary by maker. It's also intended only for right-handed shooters. On some guns such as the 870 you can install a left-hand safety, but this can make it an accident waiting to happen if you ever loan it to a right-hander. For anyone who insists on using a cross-bolt safety, I recommend they acquire a shotgun that has the safety placed forward on the trigger guard rather than behind it. Forward is a more natural position to rest your trigger finger. The rear location is plain awkward and is one of the shortcomings of the much vaunted Remington 870.
Fun little shotgun. 🇺🇸
Yessir 😎👊
Nice video.
.410's are so much fun, and their firearms are light weight. But, I wish the ammo was more available and cheaper. Thus, I tend to stay with my 20 gauges for lighter shotguns and much more available and cheaper ammo.
Have you ever tested the underwood 185gr +p 45acp? I think it is on the low end of 10mm ft lbs
Sweet! These weapons give great value for the dollar and the 410 gets no respect!
410 pump action short barrel is best for hause difender. My friend chronograph or buckshot in mossberg 18,5 inch barrel...?
Been interested in getting the KelTec KSG 410. Have the Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical...
I've got the KSG setup nicely now. Gonna do an update video on it soon.
Darn that looked like fun. Shame those shells are too $.
Moss Shotty time 😂 love it
Old faithful.😎👊
My grandmother still shoots 3.5” 12 gauge, the rest of us shoot 10gauges. Not sure what to expect from a .410. Is it similar to rat shot from a .22? Or more like snake shot in a .45?
IMO, Mossberg makes the best bang for the buck pump shotties. The MAV-88 with the extended shell tube in 12GA is a great entry level tool at around usually less than $300 when on sale. I think my neighbor caught one for $288 out the door!!!
EDIT: What the hell caught on fire when hitting the boom boom!?
😂 That toxic shaving cream.
@@ToolsandTargets 🤣
I own a 590 one of my favorite shot guns. Shoots mini shells if you get the adapter. Awesome shooting several short slugs
Yessir. I have the adapter and mini shells loaded in my 590 Shockwave.
👍😊🎯 it must be a pain to load 410 cause it’s hard to find ammo but I like my old single shot.
I try not to think about how much each shell is costing me.😆😆😆
@@ToolsandTargets especially buck and slugs .
Well now this is a interesting video and a very interesting shot gun. I have always owned 410 shotguns and hunted with him when I was a kid. I don't understand why it's so hard to find 410 shotgun shells. Also I don't understand why are they so expensive. It is cheaper to shoot a 12 gauge shotgun.
It really is a shame that the shells are so expensive. It's a very fun caliber to shoot.
Definitely doesnt look as intimidating as a 12 gauge, but still potent!
You didn't fire six when you were shooting the bottles. That sound you thought you heard falling was when you ejected the first live round that you already had chambered
I saw that while I was editing.😆
The only reason I have .410 here is that silly Tauris 45LC/.410 revolver. Before I retired, if I saw a gun deal, I would usually buy it. Lol. I wonder why I am poor?
I feel your pain.😆😆😆
Started the video thinking why a .410? Ended with why not! Even though .410 is way more expensive than 12ga. It definitely has some special uses, youth shooters, squirrels/varmint, maybe other game animals with that slug, tiny pig? Let me know if this is a good option for my small girls. (We have the best 590, Thunder Ranch edition, already).
That's one reason I got this. My wife could handle this a lot easier than a big ol 12 gauge. Even for just having fun on the range, a lot of people don't want to shoot much 12 gauge.
I love a pump shotgun. I have 2 Wingmasters. Thanks for the video. p.s. I have no clue how to answer a text message.
If you got some message telling you to message or anything like that, it's a scam bot. I'll never message you telling you to message me or telegram me or anything like that. I block and report them non stop but YT just keeps on letting more back on.
@@ToolsandTargets Many thanks.
Can you get a rifled slug barrel for it??.

Thank you sir. Got that covered. That's probably gonna be the next shotty review video.😎👊
At 10 minutes you did hear something fall and we all saw, but it's all good
Saw it while I was editing.😂
@toolsandtargets Can you tell us what the actual weight of your 590 410 is empty? Mossberg website shows 7 lbs which cannot be right!
