I really love that you film videos with different people. For someone just starting to do my research, I find I pick up tips or tricks from watching each barista. One I picked from this video was that each barista judged their espresso/milk in a different way. One measuring time, the other measuring levels and why.
I own the Touch Impress and the only problem I have is that I’m drinking way too much much coffee because of how fun it is. I’ve owned it for a month and a half and have had 0 problems. In all seriousness I don’t like the fact that the water reservoir is on the back as it makes it hard to fill when the unit is placed under an upper cabinet as mine is. Also the bean hopper is hard to fill for the same reason the clearance on the upper cabinet. My upper cabinet is 18 3/8” off the countertop. I would definitely buy it again.
I really do enjoy the videos but the music in the background is exceptionally annoying. It’s at just a high enough volume to make it a lot of work to pay attention to the presenter. Like listening to someone playing Super Mario Brothers music loud while your trying to talk on the phone….

i think i will stick with buying the express as well. love how easy the touch is to change the normal settings and the steam wand heats up quicker. but the express has a couple of features i think i would prefer.

Only downside that I can see is the water tank on the back for those of us who need to place these on kitchen counter with overhead cabinets. Always having to move around might be an issue.
I own the Express Impress and mine is standing under an overhead cabinet. To fill water I am not removing the chunky tank from the machine at all. I am always filling a bigger glas with water, just opening the tank door on the top and reaching the water inside.
The only times I remove the tank is to clean it from time to time or to change the water filter.
There are also after-market wheels that replace the feet.

Breville Oracle, Breville Touch and Breville touch Impress
The Touch screen machine looks very user friendly but there is a significant price difference between these 2 machines. I just purchased the Express Impress for $697 and the Touch Express was $1847.
Do you need a touch screen and is it worth the extra $1150 ?.
Nice video. I find that the Touch Impress is an excellent machine but sometimes the smarts built in to the machine become annoying, especially once you get the hang of pulling a good shot. And they're available in more colours than just stainless steel (perhaps not available when you recorded the video however).
So which one should I get?
i canot make up my mind. i had decided on the impress. then seen videos on the touch. i like how you can change all your setting like water temp and stuff from the display the barista impres is press these buttons. then the display on the touch is quite indep and confusing. great video thanks.
What about a comparison of manually steaming the milk with the impress touch? It uses the more powerful steamer doesn't it?

Can you have two bean hoppers for these machines? For example, one for decaf beans and one for regular beans and switch between the two (decaf at night, and regular in morning)?
Yes, but there will still be beans in the burrs from the previous hopper! So you would need to grind one shot, throw it away, and then you will be good to go with the next bean

Are the different sized hoppers interchangeable?

I have heard that it's always good to warm up the group head before extraction so that it pulls a better shot is there any truth to that??
yes. and the epress group head heats up on its own about 20 minutes the touch does not. or takes longer.
Can you use a smaller steaming jug on the Impress touch?
You will need to use a Breville jug so that the heat sensor gets activated, and the one that comes with the machine is the smallest they have right now. However, if you are using the manual steaming mode you can absolutely use a smaller jug :)

They would froth differently due to the fat content!

I'm super close to buying the express impress.. but can you confirm overall dimensions with and without the hopper attached in mm?
Hi Ryan! The machine is 420mm with the hopper and about 370mm without. The machine MUST have the hopper attached to be operational :)

I'd be very concerned about the touchscreen lasting and not becoming unresponsive after a year where you are tapping the heck out of it and its just not doing anything. I'll take the model with buttons over that frustration anyday
I have the touch version with the touchscreen and have used it nearly everyday for this past five years and the have been no problems with the touchscreen
I’m pretty sure the screens are made to last just like a phone touch screen is made to be touched and pressed a lot it’s made to be touched so doubt it will fail easily or within a short time

My take away from this video is that “these machines are tolerable, the touch a little less so, but we are happy to sell them anyway”. In a way this is a more honest video than most of the Touch reviews. It just would have been better to come out and say what you think more directly.
