I'm glad you're starting to like all these ships you initially hated...Jinan, Mecklenburg, Gouden Leeuw, etc.
I think that torps in slot 3 are better option since 7% dispersion doesnt make a difference when u pop so many shells into the air
I got the same impression about playing the Asashio recently. I remember that 2 years ago every BB was super cautious if you were around (which they should) and now it seems like most people don't know about these 20 km meme torps. Feels like the ship is getting better and better :D
I really loved this line. The grind was super fun for me, but I really like light cruisers such as the Atlanta.
Great vid, I found this line so painful, and thought it was complete trash, but after a bit its not that bad, have had some really nice games in it. Key is having a DD that actually does its job and aggressive enemy, as you pointed out. When that doesnt happen, really low damage or short games.
Finally, the Elbing has a purpose
I'm a very average player (50% win rate), and while this line is very fragile and has some flaws, you can do some pretty incredible things with these torps. While, I am not going to say double strikes are a common thing, with the, Jinan, it seems to happen more often than most. I play mine as a torpedo boat and as long as you can stop from getting spotted and are not pushing, you can work wonders. it is very much a feast or famine ship (line). You just have to keep in mind that you are a citadel wrapped in tissue, wrapped in a bigger citadel and wrapped in a bit more tissue...soaked in napalm carrying sweating dynamite that is 30 years old on rough seas. I probably go overboard but, I invested in the torps AND my AA a lot more than you (the AA because being spotted is so bad, I wanted to swat them from the skies), but I am liking what you did with the enhanced HE.
Edit: So, I went to a gun focus build and the change is very noticeable. Far more effective against, DDs and AA is still pretty good. Definitely noticed the reduced torp punching power but, I think, I enjoy the gun build more. I'm a BB main but this is still one of my favorite ships.
The Pan-Asia cruiser line is an incrediblely complex, high skill ceiling ship. Any one single mistake can end your game immediately, but she has some pretty good qualities that can be exploited to really put a lot of pressure on the enemy
I know you said the wooster is a better choice, and the grind to jinan is miserable, but my god that torpedo zoning is literally nuts.

Excellent video. I have a love/hate relationship with this ship. I like it but can't play it worth a flip. Your showing how to play it well helps me see my mistakes in playing style. TY man.
Treat it like a torpedo boat. Only use guns when safe to do so and try to set fires.
Spin the ship to tactically let off all of your torps with the reload booster.
It excels at defending a flank against a push. It needs to be pushed into to do well. If the enemy team camps back or is on the run all game you won't have a fun time (much like a lot of torpedo boats).
It's a good ship, but a little situational and doesn't deal with DDs that well.
Jinan is one of my go-to ships currently…so much fun! It’s like a crossbreed between Benham and Atlanta. The sheer amount of torpedoes you can have in the water at any one time is just hilarious. If you know how to position and where to torp, it’s very strong. Definitely high skillfloor though.
This ship doesn’t get much credit for its kinda insane dpm. It’s only just behind Wooster for both he dpm and fires per minute (based on Ship Tool numbers), and then you get the torps. If it got a hydro in place of its dfaa, it would be so crazy good

I enjoy watching you, Trenlass and Flambass. You guys arent negative all the damn time about the problems this game has. Some youtubers that stream this game are complaining every damn video. You do what you can with what the game gives you and try to have fun. You're good entertainment and show us gameplay that can help us improve.
No doubt that the PanA line is very different play style, but I thought the T7 was tolerable, but found the Harbin pretty decent, and really enjoyed the T9 to pick of Jinan. I don't have enough games to really have an opinion of it, but am looking forward to playing it more.

Potato, love the vids. My feedback is a little random, but recently I noticed you end your sentences on an upward inflection a lot. For some reason it makes me antsy and confuses me. Completely not a deal breaker, but thought I'd mention it.
Anyway, you got convinced me to play the blimp escort mode, and my goodness has it been fun. Thanks for the consistent content my man.

PQ, great vid, i went back and retried the jinan after getting the special captain and with that torp buff the ship feels like a bigger fenyang, i find that its downsides are going up against radar and people playing really passive 20km behind the caps

I love this ship, honestly top 5 for me.
I recommend range mod and torpedo speed in slot 3 you can try smoke generator slot 3 also but if you have 300 smoke duration flags like me its not a big priority I do understand the floaty shells being an issue but you are so much more consistant game to game with range mod just my opinion.
i love the Jinan, I use long range and play it like a dd. but one mistake and your back to port.

But i cant see the reason for me to grind this line cause i own a Smolensk. And i play this one very rarely already. So Jinan would just be a waste of time to grind cause it would rust in my port. Usually everyone and their mums flee to the borders and kite away forever, for that "meta" this is the worst ship to play...
This ship is so underrated
Got the Jinan a few days ago after seeing this video. As a DD main I think its awesome! Almost as playing a DD, but with way better overall power. Squishy as hell, but a very fun ship. Under the right circumstances, its almost overpowered but very good imho :)
This is one of my favorite more recent ships by far. I agree the grind sucks (although i didn't find Sejong too bad). But it's a very effective ship at its role and surprisingly survivable for a super light cruiser. The fire damage from the guns can be amazing although I agree the direct damage sucks.
You had to notice that 127's don't do a lot of damage? Huh

I do love a Jinan. It's my very favourite annoying little git to dev strike. They seem to have this lovely habit of throwing up their smoke screen when you spot them, but don't actually move from that very spot; taking all the guesswork out of where to shoot. Then, they get jolly cross in battle chat when you delete them.
It's very enjoyable.
I've respecced for IFHE on Harbin and she really feels a lot stronger, so I'm keeping it like that for the rest of the line. Looking forward to the T9 and T10.

IMO full torp build is more ideal on Jinan especially when you already have an insane amount of DPS on your main battery. I do however 100% agree with the command build.
The ship is good, the rest of the line are just frustrating to grind
Tier 9 is okay as well. But the lower tiers can rest in hell
Harbin is also good after the buff
Still prefer full torp build for Jinan. Hard hitting and fast reloading torps do make the difference.
No need for IFHE?
Since the FXP ships are soon to become coal ships. Could you do a ranking on them and which one to get/ not get?
None are worth getting other than Gronn/Friesland. Hayate is not worth even 200k free xp IMO

Got a new damage record in this boat just a couple days ago in Airship Escort, sadly that mode doesn't get taken into account for stats tho :( However the stats not mattering probably helps facilitate the fun gameplay that airship escort offers. Had 326K damage that game :D

Wow, in the first game your team faught a 9v5 game and lost.
Why does this game feel like it has a thousand different ways to kill a push but almost nothing that helps the people who push?
The role of Pan-Asian Cruiser is about a "Torpedo-Cruiser" but not focused on a Main-Battery Build.
Simply, I do not like this video about for Pan-Asian Cruisers on her Commander Skills and Upgrade but as much.
If you ask me, Jinan is slightly underrated. It can be deceptive to kill because of the slim armor that causes overpens and the conceal for the torps is surprisingly workable. Also the guns, more often than not, are very useful either to kill destroyers or set everything else on fire. Also carriers fear your AA while your guns and depth charges are good enough against subs
It's really not, the ship is just very bad. That's not underrated at all. I'm a good player and even I perform poorly in Jinan.
@@dzello you clearly aren't that good at her playstyle. She's a torpedo boat which excels at breaking enemy pushes. Providing your team doesn't steamroll theirs and they have BBs, a 300k damage game isn't that hard.
The torps are probably the best in the game, despite them not hitting DDs and the guns are good at starting fires.
You just have to remember you're much better at defending that attacking, your fragile and your guns are your secondary weapon.
She's excellent in ranked too, when the meta is battleship heavy. Not so good at dealing with DDs though.
Her playstyle is a little situational and not for everyone, but that doesn't make her bad.
@@Joshua-fi4ji Except I am good in general, good at torpedo boats, good at cruisers and also good at torpedo cruisers. I even meme'd by reaching super unicum winrate with one of the worst torpedo cruisers in the game.
Unless the enemy team is pushing into you, it is one of the worst ships in the game. And any ship can punish people hard pushing, So Jinan inherently has no real upside and massively underperforms in other scenarios. That's factually a plain bad ship.

That Black player... wow, didn't do much. Didn't use that ship effectively at all. Probably another example of an inexperienced player getting a high tier ship.

Why do people on U Tube use such high squeaky girly voices?
I would never EVER recommend anyone to grind this line, doesn't fit the long range meta at all and with Youyang getting TRB this line is useless. Better to play Youyang and get better detect and no cits or the upcoming Super-Youyang. Once in a blue moon Jinan will shine, or only in Airship escort where you know exactly where everyone need to sail.
