- The ten-runner Grange Novice Handicap Chase at Clonmel was a race that caused in-running carnage for punters. In a remarkable conclusion, four horses were beaten after trading at Evens, or much shorter. The winner traded at 929/1 in the run.

Never really got horse racing...weren't interested covid kicked in footy ended nothing else to bet on but the horses 😂 now ...love the sport so in to it me and the wife went ascot for our honeymoon it's moments like that that get you up of your seat and you cant beat that feeling of a winner ❤ x
I had the winner 5 Euro EW I WON 72.50 but did not give him a Chance 2 out. Clonmel is a stiff track and on the heavy ground it is testing I have ridden around Clonmel a good few times
I loved it. Now from the Bottom of the hill from there, it is all uphill to the top of the track and it is a big climb you don't see on TV so some horses don't get into it. There are 6 hurdles and 7 fences contested during the jumps season, the hill on the far side tests the horses and it pays to be up with the pace. Clonmel can be a fairly tricky course and as such tends to produce course specialists.

@@keithf_ I live in Clonmel and I rode for a Local Trainer Willie Treacy. I also did Rideout work for Vincent O'Brien at Ballydoyle it is only about a 10 to 15-minute drive from Clonmel and I worked in Tommy Kinane's yard. That would be Michael Kinane Dad in Killenaule .
That was my Dads Hometown of Killenaule well Tommy's yard was Crohane Killenaule. Funny Thing was my Brother and Sister were afraid of Horses and I was not now I was called Billy after my Dads Dad from Killenaule I never got the chance to meet him as he died just before I was Born and thing was he worked with Horses so genetics do work.

Hello, thankyou for the information. To make contact with someone who worked for Vincent O'Brien is special. He was a masterful trainer. My love of horse racing spans 54 years. It was Nijinsky, my favourite racehorse of all time, who kindled my love of horse racing back in that glorious summer of 1970. And in recent decades it is the achievements of Sea The Stars I admire more than those of Frankel. Mick Kinane and Sea The Stars in the Arc were awesome.
Gerry Hannon is simply the best horse racing commentator of the last 20 years! Keep it up, sir!

Irish racing produces more big priced winners than uk , beware or look for good priced horses around 12 to 14 to 1. DUNDALK is known for it

He does often seem to try to do too much on one breath though and ends up sounding like he is dying.

The first horse that felt while jumping was totally the Jockey's fault, he kept the horse's head to the left 😠
Numbers 5 and 6 were already dead from the 4 last jumps or so... why use the whip so bad if you feel they're empty...
Btw I'm a racehorse lover and do know the rules from flat races, just not so familiar with steeples as that's were most horses die...
Commentator sounds SO bored throughout the race...

@@Tony-sh7hl the 1st two were never put into the race. Don't believe Kevin Sexton when he said that he knew the two in front had gone off too quick and that he was biding his time.
@@Chief_Brody But they had gone too quick because the two out in front rounding the bend ended up walking home. Kevin rode the horse hoping that they’d cut out and took advantage of it when they did. Yous are clueless

That race is too long for those horses without a flat terrain. But of course there's always that pleasure of animal abuse for humans.
Made like 15 lengths up but next time out be tailed off with only 7lb hike i bet and theyll blame it on the weight remember it is ireland

Hahaha bent as you like. Look at the jockey on the runner up. Was going perfectly well all the way around and just let horses pass him. Him and the winner had absolutely no intention on winning that race.
Horses were exhausted. Clonmel is a really hilly testing undulating track and when its deep ground its real deep...winner sat out back and had a good finish is all...
@@amandadonegan2137 Spot on and I have ridden around the course many times from the bottom from 2 Furlongs out till you get to the very top is a step Climb you don't see
it on TV. Clonmel is a tricky track and when it is heavy ground it is a hard slog.
