And I hope to one day get my parents’ blessing to have my middle name be after my great grandfather like it would have been if I was “born a boy.” I was really struck by what you said about picking a name that didn’t have any imaginary personality attached. Alexander is a respectable and classic name, it’s a name for a young man, but also can be used for a old man too. I love my name, I’ve never met another Alec, nor Alexander for that matter (Even though it’s really popular) My name fits my face and fits my personality.
