Even though I had nothing to do with this, the design, the construction, the music or anything - I have been here since the start of this project and it was a major sigh of relief when that 10000th marble landed and zero failures. You should be so proud of everything you've accomplished, every skill you've learned and mastered, you went and created your own niche. From artist to engineer and back again - you're finally after all these years almost there. I'm so glad that I've gotten to at the very least be a spectator.

You took the words right out of my mouth, I wish. Thank you. 1920 my father's father, a mailman in Twin Falls, Idaho bought a Monarch Baldwin player piano for his family; wife's family from Malmo, Sweden. 9 kids and 60 grandchildren later, I fortunately had put so many years training as a pianist from Maria Levinskaya Pianoforte School, London, UK and voice from Mrs. Sailor, who taught voice in New York City for 55 years. She told me Pavorotti was trained in New York City. She said she knew that because Pavorotti's teacher also taught her. So of my 59 siblings and cousins I was fortunate to inherit this marvellous piano. The guts are long gone but the tone is beyond belief. Example: I also raised 9 children, whose mother was so beyond belief that her grandfather, hard worker and lay minister told her she could have done so much better. Of course I was hurt but I knew he was right. He married a girl from Switzerland. She probably felt the same. Anyway I entertained at Old Faithful Inn for several years and in addition to being active in my Church, trying to be a good husband and father, raising them from money earned as a career graphic artist 40 to 50 hours a week spent 30 hours a week for 5 years composing one song. My poor piano had dozen of cards in between the hammers to keep them going straight to their strings. My family said they thought the piano would crash through the ceiling to the living room because I played so hard. 27 minutes long. Lyrics took 3 weeks to write, but I'm still trying to perfect piano and voice to fit the mood of my lyrics. So thank you for your comments about this wonderful music making machine.

I might be wrong on this but i think its the spring strength in combination with the fact that the force created from the teeth is out of alignment with the point or rotation of the pallet(tik tok part) thus creating a moment (force*distace). Someone can correct me if im wrong. I still dont get why he didnt go with the broken escapement mechanism which was not pressure sensitive. He talked about less parts in that vid and then overengineered these mechanisms(imo) with so many parts, although i like all of it except the fact that he created this spring linkage and didnt use the broken escapement. There is a design error. The bottom pallet/tooth angle is not at right angles to the pallet pivot, which means the pallet can "cam out" when the wheel is pushed hard enough. The cad team have a fix designed and tested. Means new wheels and pallets, but the rest of the gate can be unchanged.

“The devil is in the details in this project”
Nothing more true has been said, the details always make or break things.
And don’t feel bad about the time it took, you’ll find that even the most well planned and well engineered projects can easily go over time and budget. Your passion and obsession to getting to the finish line will serve you well throughout your life.

It's amazing to think that I have seen this marble machine from scratch to its current work of art form

I'm literally tearing up! I've followed you for so long, feeling your frustrations when things didn't work out and this is just so beautiful! The music, the engineering... It's been such a wonderful journey and I've loved every second of it! It's gonna be such a bittersweet feeling when you finally complete the MMX.

I was starting to worry only a few hours ago, as it had been far more than a week since the last videos (which were on a rapid release channel), so I assumed, something might have gone wrong. And obviously, it did, but you fixed it right away and it felt sooooo satisfying to see you celebrate this big win.
Congratulations Martin, it is wonderful seeing you as you are climbing to the mountain top. I become confident the MMX will be finished this year, and I can't wait to see it happen!
