Similar situation in most of the Indian Metropolitan cities also the safety issue comes up as some of these rickshaw drivers are goons and show dadagiri to others. Hence people prefer OLA UBER RAPIDO instead.

And also in agriculture fields. So my thought is like this. U were saying something about business sense and generation right. The same incident happened with me in Marathahalli area when I booked a Rapido and an auto driver came snatched his keys and beat him up with his helmet...I was left alone helpless along with that rapido guy and no one came forward to help.
This is really sad! Action needs to be taken so that such incidents will not repeat in the future.

It is very common in Bangalore...one Rapido guy suggested to me while booking rapido we should make sure we are at least 20 to 30 feet away from auto stand

What can people do, it's no ones fault, they look alike Chinese or some mongoloid race and their languages and food habits are totally different and their girls are mostly partying in bars and massage parlors which are easy catch for tempo drivers and their local people's.

And I apologise to anyone who had to face situations like these due to the people from my region. I had to go through similar situations too when I lived in Bangalore. But I'm not angry at the entire people of Bangalore. Select few individuals don't represent the whole city/state.
Assamese are non tribal as are the Bangladeshis living in North East. They don't get targeted in mainland India. It is the tribal with oriental looks who get harassed.

This happened to me on dec 20.. I booked a rapido bike and as soon as he arrive the auto gang behind us came running to us and started hitting the driver and caused damage to his bike.. And later came towards me and said first we need to hit you for installing the app and booking a ride. As soon as I started talking the guy next to me one of the auto driver hit me and it got intense. As soon as the people gathered there, the gang ran away.. Didnt have any proof's of the auto numbers to register a complain.. If they have issues they need to take it to court and get it resolved there legally.. Why are they hitting normal people who are striving for life as they are...

The look of fear in his face, knowing full well that he could easily be beaten to death if the situation escalated there.
It is not so bad. There are always few bad apple everywhere but Northeast people still stay and make a living in huge numbers.

I am from West Bengal, after I saw many videos, I noticed that this very dirty and terrible mentality is increasing day by day among the people of Karnataka. While this trend is decreasing in North India, it is increasing in South India, especially in Karnataka. And the people of Karnataka please don't drag the language and come to justify it. It was not only Kannada speakers across the country who protested against Hindi. Don't think of yourself as overly oppressed.
I use rapido service very frequently and a lot of captains have shared such experience with these local auto drivers. I urge Rapido to take a step for their captain's safety.

Auto drivers are the ones who drives more irresponsible. If you ask me, I’ve met with accident twice due to their rash driving and in one of them I broke my collar bone and instead of checking if I was alright, he fled. I don’t blame all auto drivers, but majority of them don’t care about the traffic rules and others lives. As other friends commented here, they even cancel the ride if we book one, and even charge more and if we are not ready to pay, they start abusing.

I am from Bihar and I lived in UP for 6 years. I had 2 friends from Bengal and one from Gujarat. Not once did we face any bias based on our states.

Although there was racism involved in this case, this is not the full matter.
A lot of rapido/Uber riders have complained about the same issue. Auto drivers harass them on a regular basis and do not let them operate. It is so widespread that riders do not pick up or drop passengers anywhere near auto stands.

Happened to me once when I was on my bike but had put on the map and was riding through the traffic and the auto rickshaw guy arrogantly asked me if I was a rapido rider and I guess he would have beaten me up had I said "yes"

More often it so happens that auto drivers don't agree to take you where you want to go in Bangalore. Or they ask too much money. The problem is not rapido or their riders.
It's ultimately a customers choice of transport which fits his need and pocket. Stopping this person on road and abusing him for doing his job is no solution. I think there should be nominal rates fixed with minimal differences so that it does not hugely impact any sector of society. Everyone has the right to live in dignity. Respect everyone!!

The city was beautiful (though lesser than hypes) but the people were ugly. Ugly inside out 💔

I became a bike rider for Rapido last month mostly working after my day job & on weekends. It gave me new hope that l can earn a little more than just making ends meet. I can't speak kannada, though I'm trying to learn. Now I fall under the same problematic category. It's scary out there FR. I didn't go out today for rides with all this going on. I wish people had more empathy & compassion. I didn't want to disrupt the riksha drivers business, I'm sorry they feel that way. We are just single carriers with no laggage facility, we can't take over what they provide hope we get past this to co-exist.

India is the country of all Indians and the Money that we earn in Jammu can be spent in Kerala so in the same way it is right of every Indian to migrate the place he like to and settle there. Same shit happened with when I was near BTM the bike taxi guy was afraid to pick me up due to the auto drivers presence and asked me to walk to some safe distance. The auto drivers in Bglru are the worst that I have seen India overpriced rates to begin with and how they trash talk us when they think we don't understand them. I speak most of the South Indian languages and still heard them trash talk about me and my mates. I get that they have a strong son of the soil pride but should also respect people from other places. One day( 12/03/2023 ) I booked an auto in ola and the fare was 49 rupees but later the auto driver took 100 rupees from me and left without paying the remaining amount. It is really surprising that some people here only for money.💔

The autodrivers who enjoyed monopoly of years in Bengaluru have now started feeling insecure with these types of new era of taxi hiring.. I frequently visit Bangalore but I mostly use public transport after my experience was far worst with them...Now a days I am paying half the amount to ola and uber than what I have paid to these guys when I was in Bangalore 5 years ago

I've witnessed very kind hearted auto drivers here at Bengaluru! An auto driver demanded 350/- to drop me off at my home, I agreed upon it , my UPI dint work that evening and i dint carry cash with me. I was so afraid, but the auto driver was like, dont worry, u can pay me later. Later I paid, from that day till this very day, been about 4 years he has been my friend, helped me even during the covid days.

I have seen these kind of people. Some local think that they are the king of their state just because they born there and doesn’t allow others to work or doesn’t allow others to just simply live their own life. These hooligan need to learn that we all are Indians and can live and earn anywhere. These autowala think that if someone from outside state will work then it is threat to their work. They also did this thing with ola and uber driver too. One area autowala will not allow other areas autowala to pick passengers even though they both hail from same state. One auto guy told me when I asked him during ride.

It’s a very niche group of people who are in politics or someone who is influenced to hate other languages,caste and religion. 10% of people in Bangalore are like this probably. They are just affect by their surroundings. But honestly speaking I have great friends who are Kannadigas and we respect each other equally.
Autos should be banned in Bangalore. We have seen so many such cases of violence from them. Rapido they even don’t spare customers.
Autos in Bangalore are not safe, expensive and bad behaviour of driver is a common thing.
Price they quote is even sometimes more than cab n you get a complimentary argument and abuses from them if you try to negotiate.
For all this nonsense from auto drivers in Bangalore I stopped taking auto years back.
Ideally Bangalore govt should encourage Rapido and similar scooter services, they don't charge unreasonable amounts plus they are fast, not sure what is stopping the govt to encourage these startups.

There is a auto stand near my house where any time 2-3 autos will be parked. Drivers will be busy in chit-chat with tea or cigarettes in hand. If I asked them to go somewhere. They will say no to nearby places or demand more money for distance places..

1. Be Humble
2. Never refuse your passengers
3. Charge legally as per the meter
4. And drive safely
