I couldn’t believe the 2nd ingredient in the Kristen Ess curl leave in cream was fragrance. I don’t have a problem with fragrance but the 2nd ingredient?! Thanks for the awesome video!!

Yes! In the video I say that the day I recorded, I used the Curlsmith weightless leave in, the Aveda Be Curly with the Flora & Curl gel in my hair. Be sure to balance moisture & protein since the Be Curly line is protein heavy.
I’m doing a Curlsmith year, only using CS products for the whole of 2021. Love love love loveeee the Reactivator spray, I use it everyday, and my curls always pop back. Also love the oil in cream, use it by itself on wash day. My hair drinks up moisture very quickly, Curlsmith has deffo helped, and I’m finding that finally I don’t need to use a lot of moisture everyday.
I haven't been a huge fan of the NYM curl line - though their leave in is pretty good. BUT I love the scalp cleansing oil/clarifier! I had been hesitant to even try it due to not liking anything else, & had it for a couple months before finally trying it. It's fantastic!
I definitely understand that hesitancy, especially if other products haven’t worked for you. While their stylers are hit or miss for me, I absolutely love NYM shampoos, conditioners & deep conditioners!
I love curlsmith too. I wish I could use the Aveda be curly line, unfortunately I'm allergic to wheat and the whole line has wheat. I do have a pomegranate conditioner and love it.
@@EssentiallyErynne it is, it's gotten easier over the years. I still have to read all ingredients on things to make sure. Like I was going to buy the whole curl line from Briogeo and their sign says gluten free but a lot of it contains wheat .... I'm not allergic to the gluten part just the wheat in general.
Dippety do doesn't work for me either. And I'm still trying to find the right amount of the curl souffle to use. Love your reviews. I wish you would look in the camera though! 😉
I am surprised you find the Jessicurl Spiralicious gel too smelly. I am sensitive to fragrances and it didn’t bother me. One product that many people like that I had to give away bc of the pungent scent was the Bounce Curl leave in conditioner. ☹️

Great video! Just subscribed. It’s so strange how you can look like you have the same hair type, density, porosity etc. and the same product will work for one and not the other. I have my stash of many many many curl products. I have been dying to try Curlsmith curl soufflé and the Dipity Doo products. There’s just so many products! My hair loves protein too but it’s high porosity and dry so I need moisture too. Looking forward to more videos!
Yea make sure you’re deep conditioning weekly or bi-weekly to help with the dryness then add a protein treatment in every 3-4 weeks until you think your hair is balanced! 👍🏽

The 3rd product you reviewed was in a white container and it was a protein treatment that you loved. Does it have a lot of protein in it? My hair is medium and low porosity based on the curlsmith quiz. Also, what was the name of it again gee-a one hair reconstructor?
Yes! Anything that is specifically labeled a protein treatment is going to have proteins as it’s main ingredient so it’s not something I would recommend if your hair is sensitive to protein. You may want to look at something like the Curlsmith bond salve which is a gentler bonding treatment with protein. Also, all the products I talk about are in the video description, I’ve also put links to them to help!

Just curious, with the In Shower Style Fixer, do you use a leave in or cream under it? I have had mixed results with this product. I always style it with my hair very wet, dripping my so, but it sometimes feels product-y. Sometimes I feel like my hair gets dry quickly with it. It may be better for me in the summer with more humid weather as opposed to very dry winter air. I’m surprised Dippity Do Gelee doesn’t work for you. I love that gel-I consider it a go to and I find it layers well especially over mousse.

How are the Curlsmith Weightless Airdry cream and Hold me Softly cream different? I already have the Airdry cream, so I guess I wonder if the other cream is so similar that it would be redundant to buy both. But people rave about it. I don’t know 🤷🏼♀️. What do you think?
I think that they can be interchangeable depending on your hair type & what it needs. If you have wavy hair that’s easily weighed down, I’d say having just a solid leave in like the air dry cream will be fine. If you’ve got thicker, coarser hair then having both would be beneficial to lock in moisture but the cream can be swapped out for something like their feather light cream or another styling cream with protein if you want to maintain protein moisture balance.

Certain smells just hit stronger than others but I agree that most Bounce Curl products are SUPER fragranced!

Is the weightless air dry cream smell strong?
