    Thank you for sharing this, I found a massive colony in the Snoqualmie mountain range in Washington state today. I got some pretty good footage of them eating some other bugs. They were moving so fast from a few yards away it looks like static on a TV! It was an amazing sight I'm glad I got to witness it

      Formica Rufa is the European wood ant... This is Formica obscuripes the "North American wood ant" or as it is more commonly called the "North American Thatching Ant" both are closely related.
