    I really enjoy learning more of the nuances in style compared to most style CZcamsrs that never go beyond the very basics. Best channel in this space IMO

      I really enjoy Permanent Style though his presence on CZcams is limited. And Kirby was definitely the one that sparked my interest in shoes.
      I'm in dire need of rebuilding my wardrobe and learning the finer details in style will be invaluable when I do that.

    Navy blazer with the white chino or white suit separate trouser is a must-have combination for summer. I am a big fan of white trouser in summer.

      Thanks! It was a dream many years ago before we had New York. We're quite satisfied (and at capacity) with Hong Kong and New York. Still, never say never.

    I love the iridescent buttons on your dark navy hop-sack blazer. What type of buttons are they? I would love to add something similar to a navy linen blazer.

    Great outfits. Just one question about the shoes on the last combo you say it's a Derby? To me it looks more "oxfordy" so what defines that shoe a derby?

    • @markchodotcom
      @markchodotcom Před 3 lety

      Ah, I apologize, that was my mistake. You are correct, it is a derby!

    Would it be fair then to call royal blue simply dark blue, or is the latter somewhat darker? It's hard to compare online but my first business suit was a dark blue. Perhaps in-between the shade you're showcasing and a true navy. I found it to be very close to the level of formality of a navy suit but far more versatile in the sense that I could wear it substantially more often in casual situations either as a suit or as separates.
    cheers

    • @TheArmourytv
      @TheArmourytv  Před 3 lety

      Correct! We actually have named it Dark Blue on our website. We prefer dark navy for more formal suits and sport coats, however this model is a nice option to lighten things up for the warmer months.

      I've also seen this type of color refered to as "bright navy" on some websites. I think it describes it well.

    • @markchodotcom
      @markchodotcom Před 3 lety

      Yes, you could call it dark blue. I would actually find a whole suit in this colour a little bit on the bright side but as a sport coat, it's lovely and indeed quite versatile, especially in the summer.

    You can't beat a blue blazer!

  • @robertmclaren3529
    @robertmclaren3529 Před rokem +1

    For some reason, in the UK, the makers of low quality suits often choose a French navy rather than a classic dark navy - maybe this is supposed to appeal to young men, who might think a dark navy suit too dour or boring. For that reason I associate French navy in tailoring with those horrible shinny suites. So this video is a good correction for me!
