My biggest tip, for vacation... Collapsible laundry basket/baskets. I use them for groceries (if necessary) but also for laundry baskets when we're at our destination. Plus, you have an extra "bag" incase you bring home extras.
Just having to by a crockpot, that's good. Plus, storage on the way home, lol.
I do this as well. Also, I use them to corral the kids' shoes so when we're in a rush in the morning to get out, we can easily find them. Not as difficult to keep track of in a hotel room, but in a larger air bnb, it can be a headache keeping track of everything.

How exciting!!! When our kiddos were little, we’d pack a cooler bag with PB&J’s, chips and water to take into the parks with us. We’d get a locker at the entrance so we didn’t have to carry it through the park and “viola” lunch is served!
Hi Toni, my parents were always organised in this way when we would have family outings. Mum would use a Tupperware bowl that she would half fill with water and a face cloth. I guess baby wipes do the trick these days. Life was much simpler in those days which I think wasn't such a bad thing. My amazing Mum would always tell me that I was born in the wrong Era.

I used to have a large family. Through circumstances we're now a small family of just two teens and myself. I love watching your videos because they remind me of how I used to manage, especially when I feel like I'm struggling now lol. I do have to say that learning to cook for a third of the people, all with smallish appetites, has actually been my biggest challenge. Watching you reminds me that so much is possible
A friend of mine always adds shredded potatoes to her taco meat to stretch it. Tastes great. I imagine a bag of frozen hashbrowns would work, too.

My kids have never had taco meat without shredded zucchini. I grow 6 plants and dehydrate and freeze shredded zucchini. I laugh inside at my kids that just do meat and cheese and think they are getting away without eating a vegetable. 😂

Our large family of nine (with a 3rd trimester mama by then) is taking a trip to Florida this spring, too - a quiet beach trip in St Augustine. We haven’t vacationed in quite a while so I’m soaking up all your best trip tips over here ❤️ The Vrbo we’re renting is two blocks away from Publix and a pizzeria, thanks be to God!
Sounds great! Those are the kinds of things I look for when we rent a vacation house, too. Lots of Publix down in Florida. I like that store! Enjoy your trip!
Publix is fantastic!! They are pricier than places like Aldi & Walmart. I find it is always so much easier to get in, out & find what I need at Publix though. Sometimes it's worth the extra cost to me. I live in GA so Publix is everywhere here, too. Their stores are always clean & associates so friendly & willing to help.
St Augustine is beautiful. The Spanish Fort is incredible. Enjoy.

For low cost crockpot liners, I buy the turkey oven bags after thanksgiving and christmas when they are discounted. I can find them sometimes at dollar tree as well. Buy 20-30 at a time and use the whole year.

You will need a vacation from your vacation. Lol. Definitely a lot of work to take care of your loves. I hope you had a wonderful time.
Your next task for when you get home..make a master kitchen checklist for vacations! So when it’s time to pack, pull it out and gather those basics that are easy to overlook (plates, napkins, slow cooker, etc). If you just keep a master list, you won’t have to think about it with every trip!

I love to see how you handle food for a family on vacation. We have 9 soon to be 10 kids and dont get to go away much but yes buying food at a grocery store and prepping it while on vacation is so much cheaper! Even if its convenient foods like frozen pizzas and nuggets! I always feel good after watching your videos!
We visited Disney in 2016 and spent 1K on food for 3 days (family of 4) and that was aside from the Groceries we had delivered to hotel and me, the mom, skipping meals. Very expensive!😲 One pizza at the Disney hotel was $44 back then. I'd rather visit the beach or mountains and enjoy the peace and scenery🌄
My goodness, that is astronomical!! At 40 years old I've never been to Disney. My parents could have afforded to take us as kids but we always went to the beach or other places. I don't feel like I missed out on anything, lol. I have 2 girls myself, ages 19 & 13. I've never taken them to Disney either. We do vacation for at least a week every summer at the beach. St. George Island, FL is our favorite place!! We like to take fall/winter trips to Gatlinburg, TN to stay in a cabin if we can. Living in GA neither of those are to far away. I just can't imagine spending that kind of money just on food!! Makes it impossible for so many to ever be able to experience Disney. I know there are lots of people that absolutely love it!

Our trips hv dwindled and family loses, but I hope to find that nitch again for traveling and still cooking good meals. We hope to join family RVing and traveling soon. Here's a tip for food in the theme parks:
We bought every member of the family a fanny pack. Each morning before heading out we'd spread all the food choices out on the table and everyone would pack what they wanted. (Beef jerky, cheese sticks, trail mix, applesauce cups, and lots of other miscellaneous snacks).
I also sewed water bottle carriers for each person. When they finished them we'd refill at the water fountains. We took along tea bags or Gatorade powder to add in because the water isn't always so great.
When the kids were very small we'd lug around a backpack full of water and snacks, but once they were all old enough to have a fanny pack it was so much better. We were able to all pack enough food to make it through a full park day without buying meals.
The parks are very different now. They searched all bags. They wouldn't let in any food or even water bottles. I've always taken in a food bag, but we were stopped at every park this time. That made it difficult and two times we just ate at the park because of time and energy.
@@JamerrillStewart Wow, that's too bad. I don't know which parks you went to but we've always taken lots of food and water into Disney parks, the most recent trip in Aug 2020. They used to search all bags but they had actually switched to letting you walk through the metal detectors without a search. Not sure what they are doing now. We only go every 4 years.
Yes, we’ve been to Disney four times and every time we’ve been able to take in a book bag of snacks and water bottles etc. I’ll share the parks we went to in the upcoming video. But this particular set was very much against bringing in food. Security made me take my food bag back to the van. Which is sad, because we’ve been to this brand of parks for years and it’s something they’ve just recently become militant about. I believe Disney is still fine with people bringing in food. thank you for your tips!!

I saw a life hack on tiktok. Take a laundry basket to Aldi’s with you. Sit the laundry basket in the shopping cart and fill it up. Empty the items at the check out then repack into the laundry basket. It has handles and makes it easier than packing bags and carrying several. :)

I only live 15 minutes away from there now but my parents still live there and I would've driven down there to be able to see you! I wish I could've met you there that would've made my day, probably even made my whole year! My grandparents also lived in Orlando for many years when I was a little girl and we would take a family vacation there every year! You're such an inspiration to me and around my house I call you "SuperMom" because you stay so busy with life and always manage to get everything done! Even though it’s just my husband and I we always rent a small house or or condo and bring lots of non perishable food with us. If we eat out it’s usually lunch as we’re out and about sight seeing etc. plus lunch menus are cheaper then dinner.

We would drive from Texas to Florida when our children were younger. We would stop in Alabama for the night and drive the rest of the way the next morning 🙏 they are 34, 30 1/2 and 28 now ❤️🙏

Sometime when your young ones can take a longer ride..go to Fort Meyers and Sanibel Island...extraordinary beaches..the Ringling Museum..yes the circus and Thomas Edison Florida workshop..educational experiences for children..Edison was so much more than just an inventor. Sanibel is the shell capital of the US... Enjoy the Bubble Room also.

Now this looks like realistic large family vacation shopping. Watched a recent vacation video by another large family mama (Jordan page) and her haul was so unrealistic.
Her kids are all younger, and I have almost 6 ft tall tweens, teens, and several grown-ups plus some little kids. Plus she shared they planned to eat out every single night. That helps cut down on what you need food-wise at the house. We eat out some, too. You'll see how it all shakes out in the next video. 😘

Cani just say that watching you meal prepping has given me a zest for meal prepping for the freezer (Uk), was already doing boeuf bourginion and minted lamb, and soup, but now I’ve prepped the chicken and peach to try .. bbq chicken with veg … I think there’s nothing worse than having to think every single day what to make for food. Thank you .. cooking is now a pleasure
