- Keith congratulates Bob Dylan for winning the Nobel Prize, but thinks he deserves the same for chemistry. New album, Blue and Lonesome was an accident but genius!
- Komedie
I love Keith and love that he so loves living life. He's so wise, so at peace with himself and all that swirls about him. He's just about the coolest cat I've ever seen and I thank my lucky stars that I've seen him and his band some eight or so times over the course of the last 40 years. What a joy he is and what joy he's brought to literally millions upon millions of people. Thanks, Keith, for all the laughs, the good times, the great riffs, the inspired playing and for just being who you are. We love you, man. We really do.
SAME! And at their shows, the crowd hoes craziest when Keith hits the stage!
I'm right there with you, been a stones fan, and particularly a keith fan for over 50 yrs and he IS the coolest cat on the planet
Yeah... Keith, Ronnie, Mick (and the rest) are phenomenal! I love their style very much too. Music wise, clothes&hair style, lifestyle, the way they look at things, etc. They're energetic and relaxed at the same time, and I love the fact that they never settle down, they go on until they drop! Still going strong at 80 yrs. running around doing big tours, wow... Fantastic!!! groetuitholland!🐉
I can't tell you how much I love this man. He is literally a living legend and sadly one of the few living legends from this era left.
Not true all the old rockers r still alive. They out lived the punk rockers..better health care..
He's bigger than the pyramids !
Keith knows instinctively how crucial the sound of a particular space or room is to the music itself !! .
They ALL do really of course! 😄
My favourite 'Lonesome' track is 'Little Rain'. It stops me in my tracks !!❤
This guy is a GREAT interviewer. He lets the subject talk, almost making himself invisible. Very rare.
Appreciate that mate
I could listen to Keith for hours upon hours. There's Keith Richards and then there's everyone else.
Keith's been up all night for 50 years.
He'll do all his sleeping when he takes that final dirt nap, which I hope is not for a long long time. Hope he and Mick make it to 100. Do wish he'd quit the cigarettes though....
Lol
@@whyyeseyec Legend has it , that everytime someone smokes a cigaratte, it's takes a day off their life and is added to Keith Richards life.
Keith is taking Warren Zevon's advice: I'll sleep when I'm dead.
Rock On Forever!
1blastman love .you keif
@@whyyeseyec huh
Love the band energy, the.horns, and the background singers.
I love how much he loves Chuck! And he never runs out of fab things to say about Charlie!
I'm glad a person like Keith really exists - if not one would have to invent him.
The interviewer is right about seeing the band smile and laugh and joke on stage, my abiding memory of seeing the Stones live is seeing Keith and Charlie looking at each other mid song with huge great smiles on their faces. God bless the Rolling Stones...how many minds have they liberated? How many people want to strap on a guitar and be Keith? It's a beautiful thing.
''What makes a pearl?..... It's that little bit of grit in an oyster.'' A metaphor for life. Spoken by the a very, VERY Worldly man.
What a fucking legendary guy Keith is.
How he is still with us is a miracle
Keep rockin' Keith ✌️
I Was So Proud My Band Manager Got An Autograph sent to my house from Keith Richards!😀I Love Keith Richards Music & I Love The Rolling Stones! Keith Is The Man & I'm Proud To Have An Autographed Picture From The Man Himself! Keep Rocking Keith You Da Man!
Keith is obviously very mentally strong to have gone through all the madness, all the drugs and years of touring. Many would have had a nervous breakdown by now or suffered depression if they had lived his life.
He healed his psychological problems with alcohol, cocaine and heroin in 70s. From 80s to this time he has been healing himself with weed or pot. He is also addicted to cigarette even now. He has an extraordinarily strong constitution I guess. Drugs have been surprisingly useful for him unlike other drug addict rock musicians. Drugs gave serious harms to most of the rock musicians.
justmadeit2 Because they enjoy it! They just love what they do they never have known nervous breakdown cuz this is his job! He has the best job in the world!
justmadeit2 q be bb About What The Osama, Hitler Hillary? He was the first socialist communist president dictator! She was the first Hitler Hillary we had!
He probably had enough lol
@@markgray8065 And Little Donnie is today's Hitler. The Republicans are Nazis through and through and so are their brain-dead supporters.
i love that he still uses matches
Respec ' .😊
In 62 Brian Jones was truly a young British Blues fan and Blues Rocker. This album sure moves me. It's terrific.
Keith is like a Cat that has nine lives, He is still Drinking & Smoking at 74, & still going strong, AWESOME...
An incredible human being.
crowesarethebest indeed and an incredible scientific specimen. How does he do it? Fantastic genes I guess. Bowie was shortchanged it would seem. Such is life and death!
matthew thomas I'm only joking. I'm a big fan of Keef. I like his weirdness.
I read his book and he said he never had to pull a chick ever in his life, that they always came onto him. Talk about winning the jackpot.
Saw the Stones at the Cow Palace in San Francisco on their first US tour and they played great R&B. The audience was just spell bound by them. They sounded phenomenal and the rest as they say is history...
best band in the world
Keith is the King of Cool. Made to last forever! His creative genius has no bounds!
Excellent interview. Blue & Lonesome is the best Stones record in a long time.
Exceptionally intelligent man, thoughtful, articulate and devoted to his craft. His passion is apparent and it shows. How great to do something you love to do -and do it well.
He knows how to ignore chatter......
mark1952able Yeah old Keef kept cutting him off when he tried to ask a question.
Mario Del Proposto A what my good cuzz. What is you trying to say?
Great Interview On The Blues!
Great to see and feel his passion for just playing the blues! And still enjoying the process.
At times during the interview he comes off almost boyish even though he’s in his 70’s. I think his attitude and self confidence has kept him what he is. He’s a legend.
how this man is still alive is inconceivable... i think he is immortal..
One of the nicest, more interesting, yet fun interviews I've seen with Keith, kudos to the interviewer, sincere, straightforward approach, knew when to let Keith keep talking between questions, tailoring the questions to the flow - not asking the same questions everybody always asks.
Really appreciated mate..
hes def an example of just livin life and doin the best ya can, have fun and live life whatever happens happpens
He's just ''Cool'' naturally. Mick's spent his whole life just trying to keep up.
Well said and astute!
Might be , but without Jagger , Richards might've had a cool career as a petty thief , which he himself admitted once .
The new album is special, very special. So much love for the blues from the Stones.
It's the Best Stones Album since GHS. Every track is dynamite. Charlie Watts is Awesome. And most of all, it's back to their roots deep in the blues and r&b. Long Live Keef and the Stones.
Such a humble man.
Stay safe Keith Richards.
" I was supposed to get one for Chemistry." Classic !
Love you Keith thank you for giving the rest of us hope
The thing I like about him, is you never get the feeling he's BS ing you. He doesn't talk bad about anyone, and he's still humble after all these years. ❤
i love this guy.
But what he said about Prince was mean :(
I agree with you
Taiyou536 What is the time he said something about Prince? I must of missed it. How far through the interview?
Taiyou536 Can you tell me what he said about Prince? I just watched this again but I must be missing it.
Lisa Rice Can you tell me what he said about Prince?
He might look a wee bit older, but he acts _exactly_ like he did thirty years ago. Always fun to listen to.
What crowesarethebest said!
Nobel prize for chemistry? - yep Keith, I get it.
Rudyard Kipling 👹
😂😂👏👏👏👏
I absolutely LOVED that interview, one of the best i've ever watched of him, i could have sat and listened for hours, thank you!
Rob! That’s really appreciated mate
gotta love this man.
In my opinion, what Keith is basically saying is that EXPERIENCE is basically everything. They were always great (in my book) They didn't have to release a cover album because IF they really wanted to, they could have produced a new album with their own material. They made this album as a tribute to their heroes, and just plain fun for them, they did it because it was fun for them and they did to return to their roots. A GREAT BLUES band. Love them!
Modest and grateful man who has the most endearing self-effacing quality and sense of humor about himself❤
With his happy go lucky, easy and fuck everything attitude he will go on for a hell of a long time yet! Nothing phases him! It proves the power of the mind over body!
Trends come and go. Keith stays ;)
The older we get, the more I love him. What a mensch!
Was ? .....what a Mensch ???
Happy Birthday, Keith! Great Interview, Keep Rocking!
Happy Birthday Keith; thanks for all the music.
Such a fine gentleman and the real leader of the band 😉🎸🎶
They band leader absolutely runs the team not Mick
I'd like to spend an evening or a day with this guy talking about music playing guitar smoking and drinking 😎🤘🚬🎸🎶🔊
Keith Richards is VERY COOL, brilliant. Checkout his autobiography..."Life" For those who don't know any better, Keith quit drugs years ago,(30years) according to the man himself. He is not "just a drug addict"...he seems very bright; and clear headed at present. I watched him and the X-pensive Winos in Concert at the Orpheum, Boston, Mass/1993.FYI: Keith is one of the top ten Guitarists in the USA..;
Patricia Healey his book was great!
He gave up heroin 30 yrs ago but then doubled up on the cocaine, weed, alcohol. He gave up cocaine in 2006 after falling out of a tree. He recently gave up alcohol. It took him a year and wisely so. Now that just leaves cigarettes and weed. Both will ruin one's lungs
Love this man...he is a character.
Keith should have got the Nobel prize for chemistry. He has certainly had a lot of experience of certain chemicals throughout his life.
You're an idiot
My Hero. Despite all that he's been thru, he's just Keef. No airs & graces.
The whole British invasion thing was amazing. Like English guys feeding back the blues, Berry, and Elvis in a somewhat new form and also old form which had been updated. Still amazing what can happen with a good band who writes spontaneous, ecletic material. The chemistry and vibe that comes through the MUSIC is somewhat different than much of the machine musak of today. Those analog, old school musical songs are really the interplay between human beings that you can't emulate with a machine. Too much feeling instead of a timed music track. One of a kind.
Grande Keith, the Riff Master, incredible musician always happy playing, the best riffs and songs in the history of R&R he wrote with Jagger and Co.,Ole Maestro
Amen!
Branko Dogs
Keith,is always ♥️ ❤️ honest and open, and laid-back, and just a beautiful person, I love his cool, bad ass personality, ❤️ ♥️ he's raw no glitz no glamor, he's as real as it gets🎉🎉.I love Keith quite articulate and very interesting and intelligent
Very nice interview fyi this guy has saved rock n roll and created so many excellent songs and concert experiences for ppl. - give this man a Nobel peace prize chrissakes
This is sort of upload is exactly why you tube is amazing, thanks
God bless you Keith Richards I love yeah!
Just searched Keith, coz I needed cheering up, he hits the spot. Sometimes you need to chill.....!
Nice!! Kudos to interviewer. 👍🏼
Keith is the meaning of cool
~Awesome magic!!,,,Such a beautiful soul~~
Keith and the Stones basically took an American musical genre, repackaged it, gave it a little bit of a British twist, so the white youth would accept it, Mr. Richards has admitted in many interviews that they were looking to emulate American blues music. God bless Keef! Would love to hang with him.
Nobel Prize for Chemistry, exactly what i was thinking! Happy Birthday,Keef!
Excellent interview with the Man. Well done Becko, thank you : )
I just love this dude. For 50 years I have enthusiastically played , sang, and jammed to what he and his mates have been doing. While Mick is MICK, Keith has always been the backbone of this great little rock and blues band. The chemistry of the band , makes anyone want to be part of it. No one is taller than these chaps, when THIER in the room, save, maybe Paul.
I can't think of a rock band that has contributed to the music world as much as the Stones have and they're not don yet. I don't think there is one.
It'll be a sad day when they're done.
70 still smoking as hard as ever wow amazing
James Adcock He's 73 now.
@@Revolver1981 now 77....whos next ?
@@gonr.2426 That's right. The strange man's 78 this year. Old Sir Mick's just turned 78 as well.
At their start, "Our ambition was to be ... the best blues band in London. That was the size of ambition."
Love you Keith...the Desert was a weird scene but it WAS great to have you guys and Bob on the same bill. God bless!
Keith, "I was supposed to get it [the Nobel Peace Prize] for chemistry." HILARIOUS!!!
Dec 2 Super Album of The Stones..Dec 18 Keith his Birthday and Wedding Anniversary..Keep on Rocking and Rolling
One of the greatest guitarrists of all time
Greatest interview I’ve seen of elder Keith thus far on the web. Thanks for sharing!
That's great! Thank smate
Love, love, love Keith!!!
“Give me a break, I was up all night.” Keith is notorious for staying up nights on end!
I told people when I was in school 30 years ago that the Stones would outlast their stupid hair bands. everybody laughed at me. Well looks like I got the last laugh!
Hair bands are alright, but Stones are way better. I also like Zeppelin and Doors including more from 60s and 70s era :)
larkyleroy hair bands were shit anyway.
Nobody remembered what you said anyway, let alone you existed.
Enjoy your life, not grudge
You got that right. Hair bands were like shooting stars that fizzle out. Any REALLY good band is in it for the music and consequently that creates a signature sound to a band.
Keith Richards is in a hair band! Back then in the early sixties they had the longest hair!
Keith congratulates Bob Dylan for winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Outch! But the new album is just lovely, cheers, mate!
He IS the blues. Thanks!
blue and lonesome expresses the stones roots for sure, and they whipped that up quick, like some chefs who really know what they're doing. You think of the stones as rock and roll, but they really did the blues, 'bread n butter' as Keith says. Been following the stones since the early 60's, but to understand them one must go back, there is a good documentary Martin Scorsese (Shine a light), and Clint Eastwood did, called Piano Blues, that some even earlier non electric blues guys , 'lead belly', and the rockers of the 50's Chuck Berry, Little Richard, guitarist Scotty Moore BB,, maybe even Jerry Reed, yeah, that's where u find the stones
OMG! Watch the ash on the cigarette!!!! ROTFL GO KEITH!!! Love this guy!
I believe it was 2016 at the desert trip in Southern California where I had the pleasure of hearing the Rolling Stones and other musical talent of my generation thank you Levon! It was far different than what life is up here in Alaska, especially their summers
He looks fantastic..
Rock and Roll will die when Keefer or Mick does; There is simply nothing that will replace the Stones . They are truly the last pioneers. There hasn't been an original rock song since the late 60's or early 70's.
Excellent interviewer. Very easy going and fluid
I love this guy
Beautiful stuff! Really nice done!
The irony is that they played the blues much better when they were young.
Hi Becko, if you want to listen to one of the best rock music singing, try Keith's "Main Offender". As far as singing goes, the man's made his mark (indelibly) - surpassing many, if not most. Definitely among my top 5 rock albums of all times. Bliss! And bless...
Thanks mate!
When you love what you do it is fun not work. The Artist that still loves the Art years on reaches a level of mastery. and renewal to see all things anew . Still Writing #Satisfaction within it a lesson that its not the bells and whistles, but itis the Staples that make it happen.
A pretty good interview. Normally he makes some reference about Mick that isn't too pleasant, but doesn't actually comes to the point. This time he shows respect for Mick. Made a nice change. Good on yer Keef. I've loved their music since the mid sixties and long may it continue, despite their age
OMG,,,, THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT INTERVIEW!! I LOVE KEITH R... THEY Came to Michigan, but couldn't THE TICKETS!!! VERY SAD....
"Bob Dylan and The Stones"..,.yeah!❕🎵✌️
Keith u r the man im from michigan u rocked comerica park god bless yeah buddy
Great interview.
thanks mate
Beckotube Old Keef's a strange man. It's funny hearing you laugh at the great man's weirdness. Hahaha!!!
Read his auto biographie called life, it really makes sense behind the passion to chase that one unknown lick, sound or track.
Keith you're fakkin brilliant mate.
Love from all your illegitimately family you've ever conceived.
~Luv this magic!!
What a guy...
~He seems to be such a beautiful cat!!...Keef u have earned every bit of yor MAGIC~~~~
I fucking love Keith. A true gentleman.
Daniel Avenell hes no gentleman but one of the coolest cats anyway! lol
