I've been a believer my whole life, but I've never had a relationship with Him. And when I realized how long He waited for me, it was overwhelming. I had so much joy!!!

my pastor said it was cool if i learned this song and sang it on our Sunday service... I've just realized God's amazing answer to my prayer a few years ago when I asked Him to teach me how to love Him.
Months ago, I have experienced the most anxiety, fear, pressure, and doubts in my life regarding my self and my future. However, it was during this time when I truly met and became closer to God.
He showed me how there is no need to worry for He is with me every step of the way and that He will take care of me--His beloved child. True enough, it turned out that I didn't have to worry at all because everything turned out well in the end.
Now, everytime I pray, I can tell Him: "I love you Lord" from the bottom of my heart.
Maybe sometimes, we experience difficult times in our lives so God can teach us how to rely on Him, how to be closer to Him, how to trust Him, and how to love him.
Thank you Lord for answering my prayer, I love you 😊

Amen. In the beginning, God did not make religion. Instead there were things God told us to do. If we obey, we are children of God but if we don't, we are children of disobedience. Man made "religion" and religion boils down the words of our heavenly Father. Religion is not God breathed! Jesus (Yeshua) obeyed His Fathers commandments to the full and so we are called to do likewise. Yeshua said "Follow Me" not "Come, lets start a religion obey that instead." God bless you! You are absolutely right about following Yeshua and not "religion." We obey Yeshua because what He did for us on the cross. We don't purposely disobey and smash His grace under our feet purposely giving into the sinful flesh.
yesterday morning at a youth group retreat we learned this song. The line “My soul needs a friend” really means something to me and I couldn’t figure out why. During our large group sessions I learned a lot about how we tend to put so much trust in worldly things and I started thinking about the kind of things I put so much emphasis on. I thought about how I kind of just let my Christian friends be my focus as opposed to God. So we sang that song again last night and it started to make sense, and I realized that God is literally my friend. I don’t know how I’ve never thought of Him like that. After the last session we had the opportunity to go pray with someone, but I decided to just go into a room alone. I took time to talk to God and just God. I’ve always known that prayer was supposed to be a conversation but I never really thought that while I was doing it. Last night I genuinely felt like I was talking directly to God and felt Him respond. I even left the room when I thought I was done and right before I went back in to keep worshiping I just turned around and went back into the room because I felt myself forgetting what I just experienced and I felt like I was leaving God in there??? I turned the lights off and kept going trying to figure what I was looking for. After a while I figured out that I always feel like whenever I’m out in public God is just kinda sitting there behind me encouraging me. I realized that God is always like there alone with me inside, even if I’m talking to friends, because no matter what I’m doing, it’s only me and God who know what’s going on in my head, heck sometimes it’s just God. When I left the room the second time I didn’t feel alone again and I feel so much more personally close to God. I feel like I’m speaking with and having one on one time with him as opposed to just being one of the many other people talking to him in the moment.

You don't understand why He loves you because you don't deserve it you say. That is a good start, no one can do anything to earn God's love, because Jesus has earned it for us. Take that gift from God, there is no other Way to the Father. it is Grace, or ... undeserved favor. Through Him, you don't get the punishment you deserve that is grace, you do get undeserved favor on your life. Run to the Father, He is waiting for you.
